Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door was such an amazing game. The witty banter and swapping between Mario's, Peach's, and Bowser's stories meshed really well together. But what if we interjected Bowser into Mario's story? More specifically, what if Bowser was copied by Doopliss at Creepy Steeple in Chapter 4? In this odd mash up of a video, we sequence break the game a bit and find out!

I think it would be cool if someone made a mod to play as Bowser through the whole game. Even in the battles, he will have fire breath and ground pound or punch or something... Then a partner would be Kammy (Of course) and she can do all of the actions you need for the obstacles, to switch "partners abilities", just change them in the partner tab.

Yeah it would be cool, I guess someone would have to find a way to switch Mario's animations with Bowser's to do that. Since the game crashes trying to use Mario's animations on Bowser in battle which obviously Bowser doesn't have.

Interesting that you can get through the Doopliss fight without a crash. I've played around with Peach and Bowser in a few cutscenes and most of my roadblocks were the game crashing every time Mario would normally use an animation that has no counterpart on Peach/Bowser. I'm almost certain it has to do with animations because every crash has happened when a Mario-exclusive animation tries to play. Either that, or in the case of falling into water, Mario actually has a separate model that the game uses for his "getting bit by the fish" animation, and it changes based on the L/W/WL emblem obviously. So with Peach & Bowser, it doesn't know which Mario model to load for that so it crashes.
I also managed to begin the cutscene with Vivian as Peach, and it played normally up to when Mario would hold out the Superbombomb. Then it crashed.
Fawful, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be more worried about the Bowser in the M&L series, or did you sneak over into the paper dimension while the gateway was open?
What if you do what was done in this video but with Peach instead of Bowser?
@@miracledinner2244 If Fawful is correct, which he probably is, the results would probably be similar. He's right that the pc (player-character) version of Mario has animations that other characters lack for themselves. Assuming this is the problem, which it probably is, the solution is to hack-into the game counterpart animations for those select characters. Alternatively, remove those unique animation calls, or just program the game to ignore animations that have no file to call for use.

Just play it on Dolphin with a texture pack. A remake would be nice but I would rather have a sequel.

I want the game, period. My CPU can't run the game on Dolphin (it gets stuck on any cutscene that has a person walking, so I can't get past the opening cutscene).

Underrated? This is probably one of the top 5 Gamecube games for 90% of people who ever played it.
Yes that’s what I meant. I know the people who’ve played it says it’s amazing but it doesn’t have that audience that I believe it should have. Take for example a series like Devil May Cry or Resident Evil where the outreach these series’ have had is astronomical especially compared to The Paper Mario series. Completely different games I know but I know that TTYD has had a greater impact on me that all those games combined hehe 😅

Creepy Steeple is one of my favorite areas of the game. The suprise I felt when I realized mario was an imposter, and how confused I was when I was shadow mario. It's some of the best areas of the game.

Can anyway tell me what that transition is when in paper mario, the character your playing in the little side missions like with bowser and peach. It takes their faces, an flips them until it unveils the next scene.

If you use the walk through walls cheat code in Mother 3, you can get to New Pork City early. It only works in Chapters 1-3. It's located downstairs in Wess's house. Just walk straight down the stairs and walk through the wall, and you'll be in New Pork City.
