If I were to buy today, I might have gotten this model. I do have a BenQ 3205 which works perfectly for my needs. Thanks for getting us all the info on these fine monitors and enjoy the other topics you cover as well concerning Macs.
I'm fed up with manufacturers still pushing 60hz panels in 2024. I am really in the market for a 32" glossy 4k 144hz display with perfect colors and uniformity. No one dares to make it
Was looking to get a fast color accurate monitor. Couldn't find one. Had to settle for a 60Hz panel. Anyone know if there are challenges to making it or manufactures don't want to make it as they will be selling less monitors over time?
Thanks for the video. For amateur photographers, is this level of monitor adequate if you plan to print photos, or would you recommend SW series as mentioned in the video? Not clear whether that only applies to professionals?
You can use these for print it is just that SW will give you the 99% Adobe RGB which is more akin to inkjet print and etc.

How fast is wake on, after put display to sleep. This is my first variable. I can't believe in iMac 32". //For my Studio - waiting for second gen. Studio Display, or maybe DELL (my next?) or BenQ (first)? I don't know. Continue. Now Studio wins all. Even 1st gen.
Do you belive the brightness of the Benq PD 2725u is poor? (350 nits and 400 with HDR)? I am considering to pick one. I am expecting your answer before to order it, Thanks for your wonderfull work helping us!!!!!!
It is at the minimal end for HDR 10 mapping, but it is fine. It really all depends on what you want to do with HDR really? That is more of the question
Thanks for this preview. Does the monitor supports hardware calibration (hard profiling stored on the device) or only soft calibration? It is crusial to know for professional use.
Parts bin, what they have, and the supply that they have at the price point that they can procure. There is no reason, really; they are all compatible.
Art, Thanks at how well you break down everythingI'm an art teacher at a University and I create class videos. Do you think this is better than the PD3220U . I know the price is just a hundred dollars.. Also, can faculty get the 10% discount or is that just for the students. When I watch your videos I always come away thinking, "yeah , I can do that." That means you're a good teacher. Thanks again
I’ve been waiting so long for an update to the PD3220U! I have an M1 Max and wanted to know if you would recommend this monitor for Photoshop and Blender? Much thanks
i edit photography with a macbook. I've been leaning towards the PD, but do you recommend going with the SW series for photo editing? I honestly just wanted something to match my macbook bc the current monitor is always a little too green than my macbook in lightroom. Thank you
I have a PD 3220u. I would like to add a second monitor. Should I get the PD 3225U or just stick with the PD3220U. Would the difference in display resolution and brightness be distracting?
Resolution is the same, Brightness is close, you'll get more contrast in the new one. Personally if you are getting one today, I would buy new, unless you are getting a really great deal on the previous gen
Art, Thank you for the detailed review , need your advice, for a non professional that likes to occasionally print , using a MAC Studio M1 MAX, which one would be better ?...this one or the SW272U ?....assuming price is not a factor.....and , would like to use the monitor with wither the Mac or Windows ....thanks
Hi, I have been watching your videos on your channel for the past week because I liked them, and I trust the data you provide regarding the displays. I am a hobbyist photographer and video creator who shares photos and videos on social media and sometimes sends photos to print. I am a Mac user, and I need to buy one 32-inch monitor that is good for photo and video editing or two 27-inch monitors, one PD and One SW. Please advise me.
Btw the base that comes with look's very good but i was wondering ¿do you know if it's possible to mount an arm suport to this monitor? thxs for the video!
1% sRGB is negligible. It's mostly the same spec, brightness almost double, contrast almost double. 2x is by no means "same." As to why bother, some care, but others may not. You may be in the latter category, cheers
Scaling on 4K displays is fine, I have been using it for more than a decade now. The point is that with 32" you'll need 6K and the only one that makes those is Apple. The next thing we'll probably see is 8K 32" by passing the 6K all together.
BenQ is so eager to cut the features... PD3225u? Great monitor for creative work, yet no HDMI 2.1 for occasional PS5 play. The Mobiuz series? Great for gaming, HDMI 2.1, a-ok 99% ARGB - but on USB-C power delivery for Mac.
As an artist, all monitors are good, but there are no offline stores where a customer can see any model on display, which would make it easy to select a monitor. I've had experience with BenQ monitors, and as long as they're working well, they're fine. However, if any issue arises, their service and support are very poor and unprofessional. So, you'll have to live with a defective monitor. Even if there's an issue, customer support says it's technology, and it's like the biggest scam and fraud that I've experienced.
I've been waiting for this monitor for so long... very happy about the increase of the max brightness! :)
Thanks for the good video!
My pleasure!

Thank You!
What's the difference with the 3205 vs 3220 (3225)? It's almost half off but looks almost identical to 32200.
I just received a PD2705U and was puzzled by the "DO NOT TEAR" sticker in the upper right corner of the monitor. Thanks for explaining that.
You're Welcome! Our lost in translation moment!

ok
Same here.
Some people aren't into gaming, at all, and are more into color accuracy than anything else.
Dough spectrum has an upcoming monitor with exactly those specs 32 glossy 144hz oled
Art, I so so soooo wish they sold a standalone ergo arm & a Shading hood for all their products.
I hear ya!
As a PD3200U owner, I hope, that BenQ announces SW322U soon :)
🤞🏼

Apple display is going to be fastest, if that metrix matters to you then you already know what you have to look for

When is 27" IPS Black coming?
I don't have any information on unannoucned products

Software only
Thanks a lot over all!!! But, why a TB4 cable but a TB3 Monitor? I don't quite understand the reason for this

@@ArtIsRight Thank you very much for the quick reply and all the perfectly prepared information on all your topics. ❤
When do you plan to post detail analysis of this display?
Assuming that you take a deeper dive 😊
Working on that.... :)
@@ArtIsRight It's been 10 days already. When is the review coming?

I’ve been waiting so long for an update to the PD3220U!

Much thanks
This will work, if you are a printing photographer, I recommend SW line.
I would have problems of scaling with my mac mini m2 pro with the Benq PD3225u?
no
Why are they still 60HZ????
I am unable to speak for the company, idk really, baffles me too
i edit photography with a macbook. I've been leaning towards the PD, but do you recommend going with the SW series for photo editing?
I honestly just wanted something to match my macbook bc the current monitor is always a little too green than my macbook in lightroom.
Thank you
just get the PD and use M-book mode

Are there any design differences between this and the PD3220U? It appears to be identical aesthetically.
Identical, I think the base might be slightly larger in this version to conform with regulations especially when compared with the earlier PD3220U
If price is not a factor then SW series all the way
@@ArtIsRight thank you for the feedback
hi Art!, do you know if an identical version 27 will also be released?
Great questions, however, I don't have any detail about unannounced products
what is the exact size of the box packaging ?
don't have the box any more...
Is there any chance that you will be reviewing the new EX321UX?
we'll have to see....

If you want 4k for photo SW272U is the top 27" atm and if you want to accompany it with a PD this would be the one PD3225U
@@ArtIsRight Thank you so much. Although I prefer to have two monitors the same size.
For that you can look at PD2725U
Btw the base that comes with look's very good but i was wondering ¿do you know if it's possible to mount an arm suport to this monitor? thxs for the video!
Probably not, the mount on the back is a bit different, I have to test it with the PD3205UA
What do you mean with arm support? It has a vesa mount
Can we connect M1 MAX MACBOOK pro 16 inch 2021 to this monitor?
yes
Art, any word on an SW version?
no
How does this compare to the LG 32UQ85R-W
better calibration from the factory with more color mode that is targeted toward pro creative workflow
Wich Benq PD model monitor 4k you would recommend me in 2024 for my mac mini m2 pro? (32" and 27")
that is a personal preference really and a consideration of how much space you have. I personally preferred 32"
BEnq pd3220 is it too old in 2024 @@ArtIsRight Dont you think so?
This PD3225U is new...
A PD3220U successor with smaller sRGB coverage? And mostly the same specs except for brightness and contrast? Why bother?
1% sRGB is negligible. It's mostly the same spec, brightness almost double, contrast almost double. 2x is by no means "same." As to why bother, some care, but others may not. You may be in the latter category, cheers
How do you feel this will handle text for normal desktop publishing via a Mac Studio or Mini?
if its not 216 dpi - which likely isn't because nobody makes them, you'll have to do the same resolution fumbling

looks like a paid promotion, not an unboxing. misleading title
I said in a disclaimer at the beginning that I am their ambassador, etc. And if this act is not an unboxing, I don't know what is.
