It’s because he’s too stubborn to get away from his beloved 4 3 3 system. If he played with a midfield of four things would be different as the attacking midfielders would be Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, and Gravenberch with Endo being the DM as for how that would set up I don’t know but that’s what I think the midfield needs to be now.

Pascal gross should have been sent off by the letter of the law! He didn’t attempt to play the ball, he pulled down szoboszlai for the penalty. Clear & obvious goal scoring opportunity. He was 7/8 yards out from goal and about to slide it in the net. He may not have had control of the ball but neither did isak when VVD got sent off 🤦🏻♂️ zero consistency!!!
The only reason why we have been conceding is that Mac has been playing dm.. which has not been really good.

we need a proper 6, and if it isn't Endo, then what was the point to hire him. I wish we started Gravemberch instead of Elliot. And VVD, seriously... i think it is time to play endo sooner as pivot while szoboszlai and mac allister on front and jones suspended, really, mac allister on pivot is overwhelmed, while endo in spurs game did really cut off the pass route for spurs player, it was really outstanding play from endo

Allister was too slow recieving the ball , and whenever there is some pressure on him he cannot get out of the situation and always end up in a dangerous attack on us , hope he can improve more than this , and great performance from mo and soboszlai
But that goal is 100% VVDs fault. Macca had 3 players around him and he lazily passes it down the middle when there are unmarked players on either side of the pitch. It’s obvious Brighton were going to hard press the middle. Shoddy play from the captain.

Macca had all the time in the world to jog a few steps ahead and receive the ball, knewing there are BHA players around..but no, he just stands there, is slow to react, and thus loses possession.
