I love how everything from the key fob design to the infotainment system is logically laid out to be easy to use. This is a fine example of Swedish engineering that makes every little detail shine.

I weld those cars, there is more on the inside of this car then you can see, the body of this car is a FUCKING TANK, i know because i make them! verry well build car probably one of the safest in the world :P
I really really like that opening tune after the engine start-up.
My mom being a die hard Volvo person who's had 2 xc90s a 2006 and a 2013 we where thinking about getting her an Acura MDX tech because it took forever to come out with a new xc90. I'm definitely going to have her test drive this one in hoping the technology is not going to be to much for my mother!
Nice video, and I have to say I'm really impressed the way Volvo has overhauled the XC90 - it's 10 times better than the previous generation.
Actually, the button behind the parking brake is the auto hold button.

ive driven that-. all volvo employees in sweden got to test drive them. the t6awd summum. pretty nice car. the 360° cam is awesome
I have nothing bad to say about this car at all. All I have to say is I love it way more advanced than a Chevy Tahoe,Suburban, and Ford Expedition I love this SUV. And By the way great job reviewing it!!!

Very nice. Overall, the vehicle's ambience is peaceful and delightfully Swedish. That's a cute little seatbelt chime, by the way.

I like this car a lot I'm considering trading my 2012 bmw 550xdrive in a few month when there is used xc90 the market :)
With the engine on/off switch where it is, what prevents a child in the passenger seat from switching the engine off at 60 mph?
Page Eric The fact that the car has to be in park and won't allow you to cut it off while its moving.
Jake, nice review. I was wondering if Volvo will send their diesel model to the U.S. Combined mpg of 22 isn't the greatest compared to what I can get from a VW Touareg TDI. Both are similar in cost in that particular trim (Momentum). Though overall fit and finish is better in my opinion than VW, or Mercedes, BMW and Audi. I do like the center stack makes more sense than most. Very clean layout and ergonomics. Nice work. Cool key fob to boot.
Jay Anson I work at the dealership and I haven't heard anything about a diesel model coming stateside but I wouldn't count on it considering they never offered it here on the old one. There will be a T8 plugin model available later this year though.
The hybrid models are fine but not everyone has some where to plug in, say those who live in a large city and park on the street such as New York or Chicago.

clint lim i think you need the inscription level for that one, momentum is the cheapest level of features
clint lim If you get the $2500 B&W audio package it will be. This one just had the base audio system (notice how there is no CD player)
It's a concern that's it's owned by a Chinese company but even jaguar and land rover is owned by an Indian manufacturer ! !! Volvo would surely paas on quality genes to geely (Chinese company whole owns volvo)...I've driven geely emgrand x7 and frankly it's not a bad vehicle yes interior design is plastic dominated but it's not bad at all as they are giving 5 yrs 150,000 kms warranty in saudi Arabia, not to forget saudi is a country where cars are tested to their limits
How was the performance of the car? Can it beat the rivals? How about the third row space? Is that good than audi q7?
Sam George Bush The performance was ultra smooth and powerful but it still feels solid and tanky just like the old XC90. 3rd row space is just as good and more comfortable than the Q7! Also much better build quality.

Honestly I feel like the 2016 Pilot will do 95% of what an MDX will do (and more) for less money. I'd take the XC90. It looks amazing inside and out.
ER B Agreed. The Pilot has kind of always done more than the MDX for less money (8 seats Vs 7) but the MDX is still a really good vehicle. The styling of the new Pilot is really starting to grow on me too.

Steven Lebbing Yes, it has cool seats if you choose the ventilated Nappa Leather seats, cooling for row 1-2. The wheel is heated too.
Khaled Farhad There are two different steering wheels offered. The leather wrapped wheel can have the heat option. The wheel with the wood trim does not.

At 20/25 mpg why not just use a v6 ?
