What makes this seem so real is the way they instantly relax and complain to each other about how long the day has been and how tired they are. It so sweet to see them being so genuine with each other and so bitter knowing what is coming.
I read somewhere online that Zhou Xun, who played Ruyi, took home one or two of them, the ones she liked and was allowed to take home after the release of the TV show. But I can be wrong.
Jia & crew standin there lookin sour. Why didn't they figure out he never changed his mind.... it was *ALWAYS* going to be Ruyi?🙄 She must've been plenty tired.....looks like she walked 7 miles!!
@@KyoKiaNexus The full length of the forbidden city is under 1000m so she obviously was t doing that. Looks like she met the emperor at the Hall of Supreme Harmony which is located at the centre of the city. So my guess is that it couldn’t have been more than 500m from her palace. Yukon Palace is one of the closer ones compared to the other inner palaces. So my guess would be no more than 200-300m?
At least Ruyi got the elevation she deserved before it all went to crap. She earned every single moment of honor she received, and more. I just wish it hadn’t been at the cost of her soul. He murdered her, as surely as if he’d plunged a knife into her heart.
If it was meant to be an auspicious day they may have moved it inside, or taken it as a bad omen and pushed it to a different day so as to not have a bad start in their union.
If you mean the single item, elongated, tapered yellow adornment swinging from the hook that is placed before Ruyi as she becomes Empress, it is called an "Envoy Staff" and it represents the Emperor in his absence. He is not in attendance as she becomes his Empress and Mother of the Nation, but that symbol that was preceded in the processing by flag bearers and others, and it was protected by the Emperor's guards as Lord Fuca Fuheng carried it, is his 'stand in' when he's elsewhere. It is treated with utmost respect and honor, it is guarded and protected and revered as if it *was* the person it represents, in this case, the Emperor himself. It is also the reason Ruyi walked to face it and knelt before it: the same she would have done had he been there in person. I hope this answers your question.

That was a very warm and humanistic touch to add to the acting, I loved it.
This production is BREATHTAKING!!!!! I felt like I was THERE!! So incredible!!!
Amen ❤
Still one of the best Chinese Dramas! ❤
I wonder what happens to all the beautiful costumes in these historical productions once the productions are finished.
I'd like to think that some of them get reused by lower budget productions like Hollywood props

This scene always gets me 😢

Yes and had an aching back from it. 😂
ive always wondered how far she had to walk in that regalia
Sadly she ended up dying alone, broken hearted from the emperor’s neglect and hateful actions.

She never wanted to be the empress, she forever wanted to be just a loving wife ♥️

Make up, costum, pengambilan gambarnya dll. Beneran bagus banget kelihatan mahal. Perfect❤

14:58 And THAT was a lie (from the Emporer)
I don't watch this show, but they are absolutely precious.
I wonder what happened back in the day if it was pouring down during such a ceremony.

And then per usual you just abandon her for some other girl he wanted and even made her try to force the girl has the empress. Pathetic
01:39 What is Lord Fuca Fuheng carrying? What is its name? Something to show the imperial power?

@@r10greyhoundsrule87 Thank you very much. Do you know what is called in Chinese? I'll check by myself, too. Thanks again.
I would have never made the cut. I can't maintain a pair of pantyhose past a few days without getting run. I would have beads everywhere. Clumsy.
@@zzshi5567 I think because she is only a Step Empress.
Doubt that any of the noble ladies could have walked that far. Their little bound “Golden Lotus” feet couldn’t take it.

Horrible languages
