I lost my dad seven years ago. Bane may not have been human, but he was a member of your family. He was important to you. I hope people aren't making you feel badly about it.
You can open a bookstore and call it Bane’s Books! ❤️❤️ glad to see you’re feeling all the emotions, good or bad, and finding TLC in book shopping. Praying for you and Brady!
Yes, manifest that bookstore idea. Maybe to help in your grieving process, talk to Bane and your dad as if to keep the connection fresh. Tell them about your day, thank them for being guardian angels, and at night pray for their protection in all that you do. I know it sounds weird; but that connection to these two beings will day-by-day, week by week lessen the sting of losing two significant beings in your life. Hope this helps.
I understand you wanna be our safe space and comfort channel, but you also need comfort when life gets rough. All your emotions are valid 💗 Also I’m reading The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah right now and really enjoying it!
Fully understand how you are feeling now that beautiful Bane is no longer here. I have been through this quite a few times over the years and it never gets easier. Our pets are so much a part of our family and it truely does hurts when it’s time to say goodbye. Keep remembering all the good times you all had together. I’m sure he is sitting with you every time you venture outside to sit on your picnic rug as he loved being outdoors.
“One of you guys even said that the audiobook is incredible too.” Not me over her smiling and wiggling and saying out loud ‘that was me!’ Like I just got a celebrity shout out 😅
The Nightingale is my favorite by Kristin Hannah but her current book The Women, is really good too. They are in the historical fiction category but to me, a good story is a good story. In the beginning of her career, she wrote women's fiction/romance if you want to start there, like Firefly Lane. Sending you all the love and prayers. Be good to yourself.
I’m terribly sorry for your losses. ❤ wishing you strength in your grieving process. I can’t imagine the pain you’re feeling. Losing pets can hurt just as much as losing a person I’m my opinion. We connect with them so closely because they live through our life events like you said and their love is truly unconditional. Keep picking yourself up and you’re doing great!
YES Bridgerton is still worth it to read. The show changes some things from the books. Some of the siblings' love stories are better than others. My personal favorite is Benedict's story and Colin's. Queen Charlotte book is good, but this mirror's the show exactly since Shonda played a major part in that season. There wasn't originally a story/book for Queen Charlotte until after the show and her season came to be.
I lost my baby girl 6 years ago, she was my life for almost 16 years. I got her at 8 weeks and she is the soul who made me a mom. Losing her was difficult to say the least and i just had a day last week where something reminded me of her and I just broke down crying. Grief really does hit you outta nowhere no matter how much time has passed.
I will find reminders of my first dog I had from age 4 to 18 that was over 40 yrs ago and I still think of her and miss her. I have had many pets since and you remember each one. It is the hardest thing because they are so loyal and forgiving of us mere humans. I slept with that first dog every day of her life, a member of my bookclub said once you slept with your pet more than most have with ex spouse lol. Be good to yourself, remember your loved one and grieve. PS I liked The Nightengale but did not enjoy other books from Kristen Hannah not a fan.
What you’ve brought up about grief is so real, I lost my grandpa in July and my great grandma in February and those who events brought back grief of losing my other grandpa and my cat and I totally feel you in the fear of losing someone
hi shawnaci! ive been following you for a while but havent watched your videos because i just didnt have the capacity to watch someone new until now, and its a little funny how i started with a video where you’re talking about grief + recommending a book about grieving while im experiencing the same. anyway, i love your energy, you speak so well, and i cant wait to watch your other videos! 🩶
I lost my biological mother in December of 2021 & the my maternal grandfather (that raised me) in December of 2022 so I totally understand when u said grief compounds grief…still doesn’t seem real and I still have my sad moments. Sending u momma hugs love ❤️ Bane will truly be missed🐾🕊️
I'm glad going to the bookstore helped lift your mood. When I'm down and working through something difficult I always go to the bookstore. It's not even about buying something, but just being around books. It always helps xo
I lost my dad last year and think of him every day…grief comes in waves and everyone has good days and bad days….sorry to her of the loss of your beloved dog bane pets are apart of our families and when they leave us we grieve for them as well…sending love and prayers 🙏🏽
8:47 no please lol. Carley Fortunes new book is so different (ha pun just noticed) her first book she wrote for herself, second on she said she struggled with and didn't have fun writing. This one, this summer will be different...it's a love story about friendship, and to Prince Edward Island Canada. My beautiful home province I share with Anne of Green Gables lol. Truly, I read this new one and it's a gem. Please give it a try. Think you may love it on your vacation.
Thank you for sharing yourself with us, Shawnaci❤ Praying for your comfort❤️ I read The Women by Kristen Hannah a few months ago and it’s one of the best books I’ve read this year! She’s amazing! I’ve heard nothing but good things about The Nightingale!
Sending you love as you continue to grieve. Also, I am currently reading The Women by Kristin Hannah. I was skeptical at first but I’m enjoying it. It’s historical fiction but a really good read so far and I’m less than 100 pages in.
Love your videos and I love how you used AI! I think this is such a great topic and a great example of how to use AI even in social media. As for Meta AI, and AI in general, the technology is still extremely bias. there are courses on how to use AI or learning models to answer questions because the tools tend to lack diversity. the more specific you are, like adding time limits such as books published from 2020-2024, setting details like location and season, and even the type of couple you’re looking for, might help refine your search. I hope this isn’t coming off as negative, I work in IT, have my masters in IT and constantly learning about data bias in technology and information and since AI is so big, I thought I’d mention some tips on how to help with your search! I hope this helps, love your content and wish you and your family so much love and support 😊
We lost our 13 yr old hound in February, 2023, and I miss her so much. I wasn't even a dog-person before we rescued her at 6 mo. The grief comes and goes, but we also share funny memories, and that has really helped. The Thing About Home by Rhonda McKnight is amazing and not talked about a lot online - amazing summer read!
Kristin Hannah is a great author. Her historical book are amazing. Fifefly lane duology, the Winter Garden, The Nightingale, The Women, The Four Winds are top books, but there are so many others as well. I do mention everything I have read too 📚😊
Sending you love! ❤ I read The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah and it was a 5⭐️ read for me. Personally, it went by fast even though it was long. Loved her writing. I got really attached to the characters and even got emotional at times. I definitely recommend!
I got anxiety and panic disorder due to me not being able to grieve properly cuz I was so scared of losing people and through the years I have lost more people my mom included and it gave me depression.. and you’re right books are a kind of therapy that’s just makes me happy… getting lost in a book is the best
Kristin Hannah is a hit or miss author for me.i would recommend getting her newer book from a library used book sale or check it out from the library because even though her writing is good her endings are depressing which I have to be in the mood to read.
I lost my dog of 13 years in November 2022. I’ve gotten two dogs since that I absolutely love, but they can’t fill the hole I have for my first dog. I got him when I was 8 and he had been with me through high school graduation and he was there when I went through a nasty break up with my first real love when I was 21. I’ve really kicked up the reading since I lost him so I feel it. Also with the Bridgerton series, my mom bought me the 2nd in the prequel series and I liked it, never got around to getting the other books though
Hugs to you babygirl. You’ve been through ALOT! Please don’t feel like you can’t share all the feels. To be frank: SCREW THE MEANIES! I lost my daddy 22 years ago this August and at times, it hits me like a ton of bricks. I also lost my 27 year old son in 2021. Mother’s Day was ROUGH. I share my grief on my IG and it’s such a blessing to be open about it. Grief is that dirty little secret that doesn’t get talked about… I wish that it was talked about openly. 😢 Also, I don’t know if you’ve read the seven year slip…I waited months to read it. it was so good! It deals with grief so beautifully.
I feel like I’ve really been leaning into books that deal with grief so I just might have to pick it up. So so sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing. Sending you so much love 💗
I get how you feel we have lost 2 great danes within 6 years! It's so hard... I have just been struggling with self image and what women are supposed to be what society tells us and it's so hard and with dad going thru chemo it's hard stay strong you got this!
I've said this a thousand times - the bridgerton series and books feel like expansions or added content of each other. They don't cancel each other out or (for example) you watch the season and feel like there's something missing from the book at all! I've watched and read it entirely and they're such comfort reads, because it feels like extra scenes you get of the characters and you can imagine them perfectly doing the things the books describe. Hope this helps!
It’s not at all what you’re going through, but I’m super nervous about receiving test results so I can apply for my teaching license. So sorry for your loss, I lost my dog to cancer as well and after some time we got a new golden retriever. I hope and pray you feel better! ❤
I've lost 2 dogs, it hurts just as much as losing anyone else you love. Please take care of yourself! Pets are family and when you lose a family member you take time to grieve
I lost my cat that has been around my life for 20 years a few months ago and just lost my soul dog almost a month ago…it’s really really tough. They are family.
Good morning! I have been watching you videos and shorts for awhile now and want to thank you for sharing so much. You have got me back into my love of reading and Im so thankful. I am not a commenter, and wanted to send prayers, love and light your way through you journey of healing. I also wanted to get your thoughts on a book (if you have already read it, I apologize) Its called: You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi.
So glad you’ve gotten back into reading! It’s such a fun way to relax. Thank you so much for your kind words and book recommendation. Truly appreciate you
I usually don't care about spoilers in romance, but whoever wrote the Helen Houng description just laid out the whole story. It was like Cliffsnotes. 😒
I read almost all of E. Lynn Harris’s books in the 90’s (I had no business! I was in my mid teens reading books from my mom’s shelves!). I want to go back and re-read them all! I’m also still praying for you!!! My Granny passed in 2012 and it’s a struggle everyday! But I know she would want me to be happy so that helps. 🫶🏽
