I completely remove the floor so not risk all health issues like; headache, breathing toxic etc. My question is how about the ceiling & wall of the container? Do i need to worry about it?
Thanks for the video. I don´t understand the concept of the heavy gauge polythene lining on the plywood for avoid the toxic vapours of the plywood? It´s a vapour barrier or a waterproof lining like a normal plastic? It´s to avoid the transmit of humidity between concrete slab and plywood? It´s enough that the plywood breath for your downside to avoid the decay of the plywood? Regards
I think that “Mapelastic Aqua Defense 1 gallon waterproof membrane” that is sold at homedepot, it would be cheaper and easier to do instead of removing the floor, what do you think?
I bought a 2006 40' container in Florida and mine smells like flowers? Could the smell be flowers or more likely bug spray? I'm going to using mine for storage and a garage, if it is bug spray is it okay to be in there for a couple hours at a time? The tag says it was treated IM/Tailileum 300/2006
Another way is to put aluminium foil on the floor and then on top the finish. I use only method one as that eliminates it 100%. If you want to live in it I think it is necessary to remove the floor. Why take any risk, removing it takes about a day. A very short time when compared with the whole time for the project. Epoxy also outgasses. Sealing the floor can cause the wood to rot as it does not 'breath' anymore. Make sure when you seal it the floor is properly dried and also seal it on the bottom. Concrete flooring is very heavy and removes the ability to move the container later, concrete is also porous and not waterproof.

Alex A yes personally when I hear someone suggest a system for building I start to think about how to mimic it. So since I plan to use laminate, I want to get the “right” polythene, tape, and underlayment. Brand suggestions would be great because then the viewer knows where to look.

But if you seal up toxic waste, you still have toxic waste.
Just remove and replace the original wood flooring with non chemically treated plywood.
You really don't know the ingredients of the marine cargo containers, its safe and FDA grade and accept to move cargo to Australia
