I actually love that gel but I find it works better with no leave in. It has enough good and botanical ingredients that you don't need one. If you really want one then use a watery/thin leave in. I use it for a wash n work in the shower while my hair is sopping wet. I add the product then even more 🚿 and really work it in. Works great like that and defines all my curls.
Dgirl22s ok. I’ll have to try it that way. Like i said I definitely need to get past the learning curve. I like my results but I know it can be better.
I just recently started using it and it has blown every other gel out of the water for me. No leave in needed and after you apply you add more water on top. Soaking wet hair is the key. The hold is actually stronger than you’d expect. I’m on day 4 of my WNG and it still looks fresh. This could easily take me to 7 days. Check out Iamblackgirlcurls tutorials.
This gel is my new holy grail. I’ve only used it twice but today was day 6 of my wash and go and it looked like day 1 of my old wash and go’s plus it was still soft and moisturized. I bought 2 more at the world natural hair show
Coily Brown Girl my hair was pretty soak using the water bottle. Shoot the water bottle started off full and was empty when I was done. I’m definitely going to use it again without leave-in since so many of you suggested that.
Agreed when I use it on my clients at the salon I have to constantly rewet the hair. It's only gotten weird on me once and I think it's because it didn't mix well with the conditioner I used(devacurl). There is definitely a learning curve though. Keep working on it lady you're hair is beautiful
I've used UFD gel & it is very moisturizing. I use it with Aunt Jackie's Don't Shrink gel to slick my hair into a bun because by itself it doesn't hold my thick strands down.
I just gave this gel a try and it really changed the wash n go for me! I used it in the shower and it was my first successful wash n go! It was everything i was hoping camille rose curl maker to be for me. I was about to give up on wash n go but this 🙌
Have you used the new formula? If so, is it as good as the old one. It now has glyercin in the top 5 ingredients. I just bought my first bottle ever based on what people have said in the past. I hope it still works great. I live in a dry and cold winter weather environment so I won't be able to tell for a while.
If you clarify and then deep condition you before using a gel like this your results will be amazing. Heavy gels leave an invisible film on the hair that will effect your hair terribly over time. But your results are cute tho.
This is one of those videos where it seems that the older you get,the more beautiful you're becoming(and based on your arms, you're in great shape🦸♀️🏋️♀️💪)....I've been a subscriber since "back in the day",when you had the hair of well,a 13 year old girl(probably when you were just learning how to care for your hair);now, your hair is so thick and healthy.....you are such an impressive woman🤩😍
Your hair looks nice. I hope you like the gel. It is my favorite gel, but not with any other UFD products. The gel works with quite a few leave ins and cream stylers. My favorite combo is UFD gel and CRN honey hydrate gel. It also works well with CRN coconut water leave in.
Love this gel too! It works best with shampoo & deep conditioner. I use a light leave-in (camille rose curl love hair milk) then add the gel and work in small sections. You can also shingle the hair. It takes a while but you get lots of definition.
I like the way how the curls came out tight but maybe if you tried the gel with another cream or something it would last longer and have more definition. But it looked juicy
I used Uncle Funky’s about 7 years ago when my hair was long and loved the product. Now I have an on purpose TWA and my sis gave me the curly magic. Let me say WOW! My hair was moderately wet while using a quarter sized amount working it thru my hair. The next day my hair does not feel like a gel like.
I must be the only one that uses UFD Curly magic on damp to wet but not soaking wet hair. I love it, have used it for several years. It has worked with almost every leave in I like to use and has never flaked on me. I hope they dont change this formula. I know they did many years ago and then went back to the way it is now. Love it.
@@OneSmartFro totally understandable, you know your hair. I was just saying that because I know the instructions say to do it on soaking wet hair and I have seen so many ppl do it that way as well. I agree so much!!! Gels are so needed but when they dry ur hair out......what's the point?!?!??! Its a catch 22. I would love to find a great hold & moisturizing gel!!! I havent tried Uncle Funkys yet!!! I cant wait to try it now!!! Its aloe based so I'm hoping the Moisture will be there!!! Thanks for the video!!!
My staple gel, besides flaxseed gel. Here is a tip; Try adding a little wetline on top of uncle funky. I was skeptical about wetline because I normally only use flaxseed gel and uncle funky. So one day I decided to try adding wetline on top of uncle funky and it was the bomb! Now I always do this :)
For a wetline similar wash and go, but with better moisture i like to use aunt jackies dont shrink gel. Im 4b/4c too. For the uncle funkys, its better to do the raking method both horizontally and vertically
I just started doing wash and goes last summer and this is my favorite gel! I know a lot people like to use it as a one product wash and go, but I always use a leave in and my fave with this gel is CRN's Coconut water leave in. My best combo so far is CRN's coconut water leave in, Deva Curl's Super Stretch Coconut Curl Elongator and UFD's Curly Magic Curl Stimulator. I don't get elongation until I stretch it with the banding method overnight after I dry it under a hooded dryer, but after I stretch it, I get elongation, definition and shine like I've never experienced on my type 4 hair! And I get better results applying it in the shower on super soaking wet hair.
I have this gel and I only use it on damp to slightly moistened hair and it works really well. I don’t do wash and gos but I think all of that water just dilutes the product. I’m sure you just have to keep playing with it!
I've been thinking about trying this product out as well. It's hard finding a gel that will give good curl definition without being dying and harsh on the hair.
I know it's going to take longer but with the wash n go would you consider shingling/finger coiling yout hair as you go with these products? I ask because you hair reminds me of mine and I have been shingling/coiling for better result (curls n coils)
Fabiola Laidlow shingling definitely works better it just takes sooooooo long. Lol. But next time I use the gel I’ll gonna try shingling like I said I like the results. But definitely know there’s a learning curve
