What would happen if you just top the van up with coolant and not removing the old one
so when different coolants mix depending on the type it can turn the coolant to a gel and then clog up and prevent flow through the engine for cooling. if your coolant is low you can top it off just fine with the same type of coolant. but here we had someone put in green coolant instead of pink. so that is why I flushed it to make sure we didn't get a bad reaction it was only a few days that the green was in there and not much. but I wanted to be safe. and also you should flush your coolant every 30000 miles or 45000 kilometers.

Hi , so just a question, when you flush the old coolant , you added water and flush it again and then you fill it up with the new coolant ? How many litres?!
You need to use distilled water only. The van should hold about 8 liters. Sometime some air can get trapped so when you add the water you might not get all of it in at first but start the car with the coolant cap off and it should fill in the air pockets then you can add some more water again and run the engine for a few minutes to run through the system then let it cool and drain again. Then you can fill it with coolant. And also follow the air removal again and check the fluid level again after a drive may need to add a bit more as more air pockets are filled then it will be good to go
