So in the first phase 4464 tonne concrete was used. In the second phase, on these concrete capping, big pillars were built. Through the holes in the pillars steel cables were drilled in and has 10 feet down the beyond the granite floor. Then, in order to avoid the wavering of the pillars, quick setting cement was used in high pressure. One hundred two pillars were thus built. In the third phase, in the downstream part of the dam, a new wall was built. It was 10 metres (33 feet) thick. Using the new technology, a new wall itself has been created in such a thickness to the old structure. After the work, the dam has become as new as a new dam.
