Damn Tony making Jcole apologize to Kendrick is crazy

Cole felt the air change & he dipped. It was only lyrical competition for him, but sensed the pressure rising beyond his comfort zone. It was for music,
But for Drake & Kendrick it’s become deeper than music
And now the internet apologizing to J Cole. But I agree, the vibes were just different between Kendrick v Cole and whatever is happening with Drake 😂
Man took both the low road and the high road

@@ArchOwldang
When he said 10 years ago, he’s talking about 2014 right after he dropped Born Sinner and people were saying he wasn’t going to be one of the greats. They were saying how Kendrick Lamar’s GKMC and Drake’s Take Care were better than Cole. Cole felt a little insecure and was close to giving up rap. So then he put out 2014 Forest Hills Drive that December and just said forget the industry, I’m just going to be me. And he started to dress homeless and grow out his hair.
@@ArchOwlno Girlamanes take was SUPER trash as expected ..u kno how his therapy has him acting brand new and phonier than ever..breakfast club is irrelevant

Exactly, I don't know anyone who wants this to turn into a Death Row/Bad Boy drama. Even if I don't listen to Drake I'm still looking forward to how he may respond and Kendrick too, all of it on wax

As much fun as it woulda been to see them go at it, I can definitely respect Cole for being transparent and saying he was being pressed. Dam as a Kdot fan, I actually now respect this move from Cole. I was upset as a hip hop fan but I get it now. More power to him. It takes guts to do that. Something I probably will never experience to that degree.
The problem with 7 minute drill was that it was all cap and full of hypocritical contradictions. He chose to go with the talking points 12 year old stans use in an attempt to pander to a mainstream audience, a la drake. As for the "apology" either he truly realized he wasnt keeping it real, or he saw that it wasn't being received well and panicked into backtracking out of fear of "losing". And even if it was the latter, its better to fight and lose then not fight at all. Which is why no matter how you look at this whole thing there just isnt any justification one can reasonably make out.
It was no more hypocritical than Kendrick's verse in Like That. Folks want to selectively criticize and microanalyze lyrics. Nost of the response was legit good stuff. It was only 1 line that didn't stick and that was the line about TPAB.
@@J-Hue There is quite literally *nothing* Kendrick said that was hypocritical.
7 minute drill is the better song
@@king3azy It simply is not. It is a better *diss* song to Kendrick, as Drake was the main focus of the initial shot, but 7 Minute Drill was objectively the worst song.

It’s crazy though because Cole is the same person who says he wants someone to try him? That is what throws me off because when someone does you go back on it? Also I feel like a majority of the kdot and Cole fans know it was a friendly battle nothing serious. So when he said people wanna see blood that’s kind of crazy because that was never the case.
That's how I feel about it, but I still respect Cole fasho and look forward to Fall Off
Say it louder for the people in the back
The way he said "the world wanna see BLOOD" was pretty silly, definitely some melodramatic fake deep bs
Yeah, cause the majority knew that. Obviously, the vocal minority always gets the spotlight though, so perception gets skewed.
The world DOES want to see blood, its not figurative or deceptively profound at all, its a pretty obvious, overstated opinion. That’s literally the fucking point of rap battles and rap beef, vocal gladiatorial games. Go for the jugular. It’s entertaining and engaging for the audience as an arena. Why ya’ll think labels and producers push that shit so heavily like Nicki pointed out a few years ago. It’s called the beef business for a reason.
End of the day, an artist regretted their role in that cycle, which is a valid, personal right and sentiment. This shit is not that deep. People actively propagating this just literally prove Cole’s comment right.
At time i thought he just ment he didn’t want to have to get personal and say things he dont want to buy then i saw the stuff people where saying about dreamvill cant come to west coast now i then understood he ment it literally i never thought people could be so serious about something so little
i was standing there so confused in the moment but the vibes were just so amazing i just went with it😭
the problem to me is you cant say your the best rapper alive but your tested you fold.
i don’t think it’s a sense of folding. i think it’s just him realizing that there’s no point in escalating the situation, and just wants to protect his peace. cole is a humble person and would do a lot to make sure that i’ll intent isn’t there with anyone

Agreed, i love cole but him waiving the white flag to me is the equivalent of saying “Im not the greatest, you got it”
the editing on this video is amazing!
I know someone who was in the regular part of the crowd and people were in fact mad but respect to Cole may he continue to be himself
😂😂😂😂 this sound like a whole skit lol
The thing pissed me off so much I DEMAND you give me a good reason.
Look, I understand what happened and even how he feels, but he should have came with that energy from the start, he engaged in it and had subliminals throughout the album and THEN backed off. If he came in from the start saying it was friendly competition then cool. That's what pissed me off, him going out of their way and then backing off. Obviously I'm not gonna stop listening to Cole, he's not gonna stop being my favorite from the US, but I won't deny that he did indeed rubbed me off the wrong way and he has ro get crowned. Ans most importantly what angered me was him doing something to put a stain in the rollout of an album I loved so much from day 1
Thing is do we know that those subliminals were aimed at Kendrick? And if so when he apologized how come he said he felt bad for 1 part (the diss) but felt proud about everything else. If the diss was the main prob then if those subliminals were aimed at Kendrick then he would've said the whole album
yeah, if he wanted to not put that "energy" out then he shouldnt have put it out to begin with. but then again its like, why does he spend so much time calling himself the goat so often if he cant stand on it when someone comes to challenge him. i also feel like you can diss someone and still love them at the end of the day. if he loves kendricks discography so much, then he shouldn't have gone after different parts of kendricks character. but thats just me idk
Cole doesnt hold any animosity 🤷♂️ even Yb said fuck him he responded wit Dont believe everything that you saw on Ig he still wanna get him a song with yb, i feel at this day and age rappers die left and right and cole felt he had nothing to prove but just bow and let kendrick take the “so called throne” of rap . Cole is living in the real life now adays everyone lives life so fast until its all gone how many rappers do we need to lose to a beef for entertainment even if it wasnt a serious one the ripple it tore in the world already all the kendric V cole drama. Sometimes its best to just walkaway its less headache forsure.
tbh i just see it as classic example of human nature, he felt he made a mistake and that he moved too hastily as well as not on his own accord, so he removed himself from the situation entirely. it may not look as clean as we'd like as viewers/listeners but he's human. we all fuck up big lol, most people just can't admit it, especially in front of thousands of people
not knockin what you felt at all, just tryna shed a lil light
I respect your viewpoint especially seeing you were there. However I think the majority of those who are disappointed is because they do have respect for Cole. They rode with him and respected his craft for years.
However Cole missed out on a powerful opportunity and I’m shocked he missed it. He has a masterful pen and could’ve responded humbly and with positivity like Hip Hop has never seen before and still walked away feeling on top.
I guess he hasn’t or doesn’t understand his own greatness or maybe just not ready.
He still has a chance I’m just not sure that level of artistic ability is in him.
💯
Yea
I think Cole handled how he sees best. And thats it. All these opinions dont reallt matter. Its done and he did it to protect his peace n do what he thought was right. How can you not respect it?

You're the second person I've seen who interpreted his, "Apology" this way. The first person was a guy named Shawn Cee. I agree with you guys, it's less of a fold and more of him staying true to himself. Apparently him fighting Diddy was over Kendrick, so I wouldn't say that was him moving different.

It's funny that you mentioned the diddy thing but didnt mention he apparently got in that fight defending Kendrick. Just reminds me they used to be friends, makes me like the apology more since I hope they still are.

You said the exact same thing mark said and a lot of people don't understand that because they're the ones who are always moving the way other people want them to move. Cole don't want to feel obligated to do anything because of other people.
So why release the track! Stop making excuses for a grown ass man! Ain’t no peer pressure when you already established…Cole was murdering every feature 🔥🔥🔥and than when he got what he was asking for he does this! Lowkey feel like this is the best time for j Cole and Kendrick to drop a single together or just a project
I would definitely not be opposed 🙂↔️ they’d have my money
Lowkey, I feel like this beef is scripted to set sum up for that😭 cause Cole and Kendrick are smart enough to do some shit like that
This back-and-forth woulda been the biggest thing for rap in the last 25 years. Had the potential to elevate shit back to Tupac and Big times, even if the beef wasn’t an actual beef. So, on that note, it’s very disappointing.
On the other hand, I can respect the decision and the moral standing. Even if I disagree with the reasoning. You know Kendrick feels worse about this than anyone, he got that dog in him. Man was ready to pounce and now he’s feelin like Tom Aspinall because Jon Jones won’t fight him.
WATCHING THIS BACK WHEN HE SAYS HE DONT THINK DRAKE N KENDRICK LIKE EACH OTHER 😭😭😭😭😭 he was 100% right

What he’s talking about with what happen ten years ago is when he was pressured into wearing designer and dressing a way he normal wouldn’t but since he’s a main stream popping rapper he should dress like money. Advice that came from others then he ended up taking pictures on a red carpet and he then embarrassingly found out that he wore the same jacket every other guy was wearing that night. so he swore he would never let outside voices influence him
The fact that Cole thinks he gets to decide when it’s over is CRAAAZZZYYY. Of course the crowd isn’t booing or vocally mad about it, they gonna boo their goat at his own show? He didn’t tuck his tail, he said he would just take the next shot on the chin without fighting back…. What else could you possibly call that? The quantity of music you put out doesn’t mean anything. Is D’Angelo not one of the best R&B singers and composers just cuz he only has 2 albums? It’s almost like he HAS to keep pushing music out because if he doesn’t people forget about him.

“im legit scared of how blind i got so fast n how close i came to losin myself for good. learn from me, dont let the world pressure u into shit”
(ironic cuz the transition from Good Kid to TPAB lowkey sound like the same experience/message)
now after a decade of puttin out music n energy he feel the world need instead of vice versa n buildin a whole brand off tht shit….damn jus like tht he done felt so much pressure from the world again it made him say shit bout his bro he kno he aint mean but felt the world wanted to hear n it took him straight bacc to tht dark space of
“damn im movin ingenuine n its makin me lose sight of who i am n what i stand for”
(my guess is it was the part bout the albums cuz he kno he not only fw all of em but felt em necessary to the culture)
in reality its less about Kdot n more bout “i wont say or do nothin i dont believe in”. idk why but all the realest jus dont fw lyin at all so this was moreso him sayin:
“i refuse to do a single thing tht dont represent me. plus this sum i still got control over so idgaf bout admittin im wrong”

He’s doing long form content ? I’m late asf to the party LETS GO TONY!
It's all good on the "I want to be myself" & the "peer preasure" take. But the main issue with this apology is the AUTHENTICITY!
Cole has been calling for smoke for YEARS and he went off on the last 3 singles, before the album dropped, daring people to start beef with him.
Cole been talking SHIT the last 3 years, talking about how he's always felt like 3rd, then realizing he is as good as everyone, then feeling himself, calling himself the GOAT, and DARING someone to start beef.
Then when it comes TIME to PROVE IT, and there's literally a nuclear bomb dropping, setting the stage to have the MOST anticipated, wanted, and historic beef in all Hip-Hop HISTORY. Cole answers Kendricks insults.
And we all fnally think "ITS FINALLY HAPPENING, LETS FINALLY SEE WHOS THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE."
And in only TWO DAYS, J Cole is on HIS stage, in from of THOUSANDS of fans and cameras and this dude not only gives the person he's beefing with, the only person that is just as talented as him, who can actually give him some competition, a FUCKING APOLOGY?! But then asks his fans, HIS FANS to praise THE DUDE HE'S BEEFING WITH?!?

J Cole just loves peace, nothing wrong with that
Hopefully this ain't anything too crazy or whatever, but like I've always seen rappers like wrestlers. No, they don't hate each other or whatever, but we like the matchup. We want to see who would win. John Cena and Randy Orton are probably good friends offstage, but that don't mean they can't put on a great show. Kendrick's trying to get his PGLang thing going and, JCole's prepping for Fall Off. Bro was just cutting a promo. It was supposed to be a win-win for everyone, but now it's really messy because JCole has to pickup his career after this, and I don't think that was the intention.
