- On the streets of Baghdad, Iraq late at night! Surely not a good idea? That's what I warned anyway but that was not the case. I had a brilliant first night here in Baghdad meeting the locals and exploring the nightlife here. So then, would you like to visit Iraq? 🇮🇶

great video mate iraq looks beautiful with great people
You’d love it mate
The people of Iraq are such good people, it is a shame that their country has suffered so much. I hope more tourists visit and show how great it can be.
So true mate they deserve better now
Good people... Yeah sure.. Some of the most intolerant people. No other religion than islam allowed. No atheism allowed. No Homosexuals allowed=they're killed.. Iraqis suck!
Thanks for all your uploads Ben, everyone I've ever met from Iraq have all been great people. Looking forward to your next video mate.
Cheers mate 😎👍
It is great to go to the popular and old areas of Iraq and find a lot of Iraqis who are excited to see people like you. They are generous and kind and willing to help even if with a little something. I liked that you visited our country, Iraq. Despite the lies of politicians in Britain and even in Iraq and in the media, or if it was not a lie, it was something inappropriate to describe the Iraqis. I wish you would visit the modern places in Baghdad such as the mall, cinema and coffee shops. I advise you to go to Coffee 650 in Baghdad. It is a beautiful place. Or Erbil and go to the amusement parks and zoos there 👍 and thank you for visiting
I show those sides don’t worry 😎🙏🏼
This video made me smile so much. It's so sad how much the media, politics, and governments lie & hate.
So many people around the world are simply just wanting to enjoy life.
It's humbling seeing how friendly and happy everyone is. I wish I had the funding to travel.
You cant say its a lie. Iraq has a lot of sectarian violence, ethnic conflicts and terrorism.
@@tubester4567 it's a lie. Though, to give you credit, from 2003 to 2018, it was there. Thanks to US troops, politicians, and ISIS. None are true Iraqis (yes, even the politicians) I have been to Karbala recently, a Shia majority area, and I am Sunni. No one cared, I have got cheek kisses (tradition) and hugs and free food instead.
Don’t worry, we know our media especially in the west lie and mislead people about places like Iraq. I’ve worked in Baghdad recently and like Ben I had a great experience. Friendly, lovely people. Had no trouble whatsoever…
This is what UA-cam was made for. Your channel is amazing, it gives me glimpses into places that I'll otherwise never get to see. Keep doing what you're doing, my friend!
Glad you said this mate
Thank you 🙏🏼
Welcome to Iraq Ben. We enjoyed your videos. There are other provinces in Iraq that have beautiful historical monuments. Visit them if possible.♥️🇮🇶
Thank you Dr 👩⚕️ what places do you recommend?
@@BackpackerBen Basra
@@thomas7770 left now mate sadly
Sweet, love the hospitality of these guys. Friendliest people you could wish to meet, yet the politicians tell you not to go there 🙄
Exactly mate. Never trust a politician
Usually the worse the government, the friendlier the people and vice versa.
Iraq is a great country come there and feel comfortable just try
@@_meeme7503 I hope to one day 😁
@@_meeme7503 هههههه يحتاج واحد يدليه ويترجمله لأن اطرش بزفه
The best part of Ben's videos is how he calls everyone "legend" and "good man".
They are 🇮🇶🤝
I like that everywhere is called "what a place!" 😃 I'm from Somerset so thank you for gracing UA-cam your local accent too, safe travels!
I like when he calls them lads and mates
And Ben Habibi does not mean brother. Akh means brother. Akhy or akhi means my brother, sometimes they say Akh-hoo-yah akhooya ☺️
My favorite is “I’ll come buy some tomorrow for sure”
May Iraq and its people live and prosper a very long time!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you for your kind wishes 🌼
@@FreeBaghdadNow my pleasure bro
Hello Ben , i have no words to explain how original and genuine this video is , i enjoyed a lot . i wanna say again you are a brave man . Baghdad is so much like Pakistan .

🇮🇶❤️

Definitely do it mate
The name of the dish is "Masgouf". Habibi does not mean brother, it means "my dear" or for a woman, habibti (my sweetheart).
Thanks for sharing
Amazing video Ben, keep it up! Really inspires me to go away to these sort of places
Hope you can mate
I really admire you doing this stuff solo and just going with the flow! You end up seeing the best of the place and people like this but it takes a bit of bravery and risk taking!
Solo is best way 🤝
Welcome to my country Iraq 🇮🇶 🙏 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you 😊
Always think it's funny how universal some things are around the world- get a football out and everyone's up for a laugh! Great stuff mate, loving these 👍🏻
So true! glad you enjoyed mate
Wow... I can't believe how friendly and hospitable the Iraqi people are towards you . Particularly after what the West did to their country. It just goes to show that we should never listen to all the fake news that the media feed us on. Just found your channel mate... Great stuff... 👍 And subbed.. 😁
Very true mate
Does this mean hitler was a good guy?
@@RandomnessTube.Exactly🤦♂️
Not sure if you saw the video of the U.S. soldier calling out bush for lying about wmds and basically saying that his lies were the reason his friends got k¡IIed. But I mean there were legitimate terrorists that needed to be dealt with🤷♂️ Our guys took care of them and that’s when it should’ve ended. There didn’t need to be anymore blood shed at that point very sad for all sides how it had to end.
this vid deserve more like! love from Malaysia.
Appreciate it 🙏🏼
So cool to see this side of Iraq. I would be scared to death to do what you have done. Maybe a few more years.. would love to visit. God bless
Thanks
Had the same cooked fish in Kurdistan Iraq, awesome! Baghdad is so high on my list, great to see!
Get there mate it’s brilliant
Great video, Ben. Thank you for breaking people's fear to come and visit Iraq. People are so welcoming and kind 🥰
It's never safe for western women to travel there. And never will be.
New follow up from Iraq
Thanks 🙏🏼
*It was a wonderful video mate thank you for showing Baghdad at its best regardless of what the media say and trying to refute the image of Iraq...I think you were lucky that you came to Baghdad and didn't come to Basra which is in southern Iraq because of the weather here is like a hell lol it's really fucking hot the temperatures here in Basra reach 55 degrees but nowadays it's nice but mate next time u should come and when u come just let me know so i can guide u to the nice places here where the ports and beaches..btw habibi means darling or something like that...enjoy ur time bro*
I’d love to come back in nice weather mate
@@BackpackerBen that's would be great mate
Welcome to Iraq Baghdad. You should visit of a lot city in Baghdad. Will be fantastic good luck..
Loved it bro 😎
@@BackpackerBen
Thank you, brother. There are many Iraqi guides who speak good English. You should visit Al-Mutanabbi, the Martyr’s Monument, Baghdad Water Island, Al-Buaitha City, and Kesra Wall, and modern areas such as Karada, Al-Mansour and Al-Jadriya. These places will give you an aesthetic in the videos because they are diverse. And some of them are archaeological, commercial and recreational, and they are something you have to find a guide or a friend who speaks English, there is a lot in Baghdad, an enjoyable trip
Thank you bro when I return I’ll definitely get a guide :)
One of the guys that worked for me was from Iraq. Very cool, hard worker, and good human being.
Legends 👏🏼
Just saw your video with Bald. Came to check out your channel.
thanks Doug!
Hiya Ben, love the channel mate, just subscribed 👍. Thanks so much for the content keep up the good work bro. Regards from Australia. Craig.
Legend cheers Craig 🤝
Good luck ben
thanks!
I did notice a few looks of disgust from certain locals. Obviously still plenty that haven't forgotten recent history.
Love watching your travels Ben, reminds me of the good old days travelling around random places and meeting lots of great people. Enjoy your travels mate, keep the vibes coming 👌👌👌👌

Honestly mate, that was seriously interesting seeing about how they cook and eat that fish. Not seen that before. 😀👍🏼
Was good mate 😎
@@BackpackerBen you noted a sour taste, what was that. It’s great to see that you give anything a try mate 😀👍🏼
The sour taste is pomegranate molasses
That fish and bread looks awsome!!! Seems like nice people!!! Stay safe, though!!!
Thanks Tammy
You have to add "Nice! Nice! Nice!" to your "Legend" and "Good Man" repertoire! Great vid 👏👏👏
Did not see the boat trip coming! Amazing mate
Was deployed near new baghdad by al assad air base in 2007. The iraqi people in that area are full of life. I miss my favorite Iraqi people.
The Iraq men have the most on point Hair Styles I have ever seen.
Never stop, well done 👏
😎👌🏼
wow, these people have no reason to show kindness to someone from England because of what happened in the war that the evil Blair took us into. But these people showed dignity and frienship and it brings tears to my eyes. God bless the people of Iraq
Well said mate
Saddam needed to be stopped, in case you forgot.
We thank your sympathy. But getting rid of Saddam's regime was very necessary because it was a brutal tyrant regime
just goes to show 99% don't care about the politics and just get on with being friendly people enjoying life. I like this city, it looks interesting
Spot on mate 👏🏼👏🏼
Oh wow Ben mate you are a braver man than I am ,eating fish out of THAT river 👍Still, I guess that is what travel is all about . Thanks Ben. So glad I found your Channel.
Hahaha I did think that
Ben, the fish meal you ate called Mazgoof and it's the most famous Baghdadi way in cooking fish
was good!!

So happy I have found you! I saw a bald man on a thumbnail and had to click. 8 videos in and I must say you are severely under rated in the views, keep it up man. Constantly amazing videos and they are closer to how I travel when I do. You portray more than I can experience on my income at the moment but I’m working on it.
Appreciate that Jesse! Where you from??

I've worked in iraq since 2006 and its changed a LOT! you should have had the guys take you to the car park under the Jadriah bridge, the kids take their cars and motorbikes there and put on a bit of a show, burnouts and wheelies, its fun! LOL
Damn I wish I knew this before!! 😅
Welcome to iraq 🇮🇶

Your videos are pushing me towards going a trip to Iraq. The people are all so hospitable and welcoming. Looks like it could be a great place for a bit of travelling!
The fish meal is called "Masgoof" ☺

Nah all good
This type of fish is raised in ponds called carp, and some call it Caribbean, and the method of grilling it is called masgouf
Spot on 🙏🏼
Hello!! I am going to Baghdad in September. Do you know how I can get in contact with friendly local Iraqis in Baghdad?
No idea mate, there are so many to meet they are open people
You can get a guide like Safrati or BilWeekend, if you like. I would push the trip to mid October if you can (unless you like heat).
Amazing Noor fods
This is the Iraq the media never shows
Agreed
The boy picked up the accent so quickly! Nice! 😆

Sad to see all the polution and liter on the streets and river banks.

Are you hearing anything about the Iraq dinar revaluation?
Not when I was there?
