I have owned an L2501 for several years now and find it to be a well built dependable machine. The latest implement installed is the Lane Shark front mounted brush hog style brush cutter as well as a grapple. I have a flair mower and a finish mower and have not noticed a lack of power needed to drive the PTO mounted implements. Also the gallons per minute flow of hydraulic fluid system does not vary between the different horse power engines available in the L series. Therefore the amount which can be lifted does not vary with HP. I chose the 25 hp version because the pollution devices on 25 hp or below is not required. I enjoy the simplicity of the engine and also have chosen manual transmission. I did finance my purchase though Kubota and they are fair and easy to interface with? I do wish the underside was more protected with skid plates especially when using thE grapple and pushing deep into brushy areas. I do keep either my box blades flail mower or counter weight mounted when using the grapple or any front mounted implements.
I am not certain of that. grapples vary in weight. I will use one of my larger tractors for lifting logs. The Kubota will be lifting limbs. I don't want to push the limits too far. Thanks for watching.
I will have to measure to be sure. I think the wheel spacers are 1 inch, one on each side. With the wheels set out and the wheel spacers added, the rear wheels were outside of the 66 inch loader bucket. We stepped up to the 72 inch bucket and the rear wheels now fit inside of that. I hope this helps you. Thanks so much for watching
Whoa 48hrs, hey Man sounds like your rig is "resting" a lot. My Kubogy MX5200 is a 2017 with 812 hours, 90% paid fer & 15% used up. My back is in good shape, but l am sick of looking at that orange thing. It has 8 more payments & NO -WAY have l come close to getting my money's worth yet. With the 36,000$ invested so far (Just 5400$ left) it's a TLB it sure has been hard to make the "payments". At least l got "SOME" hours of usefulness done with it. Sure has beat all that labor by hand l used to do. I just had to WORK a week every month to pay for that "silly thing". It was a good idea as long as l am racking up the "Hours" I'm telling myself. So good luck on your next 4800hrs!!
We bought our 2501 to work along the m7060 for lighter work, chores and landscaping, cant believe how much we have been using it, very impressed and dosent feel underpowered as i was expecting it to be!
Hi Gary! You bought your L2501 the same year I got my L3901. I’ve got 450 hours on it and I have Ken’s bolt-on hooks on my FEL bucket too. See you in Part 2!
Thank you Arles. I wasn't aware that the gear drive wasn't available in Canada. I ordered mine sight unseen from a warehouse in Georgia. It took a bit of searching on my dealers part to find the gear drive, but my dealer is awesome. They took really good care of me. Not only would I recommend the L2501, I would highly recommend Gary's Tractors and Implements in Waukon, Iowa.
Great review of the L series Your right on with the hitting the Key switch and flashers with your knees And I wish I had ordered the 3RD FUNCTION ALSO !!! Only regret so far I see a grapple would be in my top 3 implements I would use 🤦🏻 Enjoy your videos Will stay tuned for more
I did not know Kubota would make a geared tractor. I guess it gives you more remaining power on the PTO than the HST would do. Quick attach, front and back are an absolute piece of equipment in my mind. I've worked so many years without it...
Hoping we can get a setup similar to yours within the next year or two. We've needed a true tractor for well over 10 years but never had the money for one.
They are a serious investment. I almost didn't get mine because I felt guilty that I couldn't justify the cost. My wife was a big supporter of me getting it, and so I did. made the right choice and I feel that I got the right tractor for me. Kubota Tractor Corp., and my Kubota dealer have a very satisfied customer. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I got my L2501 and one week later we got tennis ball sized hale and it was sitting outside. Luckily it only got about five small dents on the hood. Needless to say , it sits in the machine shop when it isn't being used . Keeping it inside also keeps the paint from fading , the tractor is still orange after 3 years instead of salmon color, lol .
Good evening Sir, that is a great tractor review, yes do take the time about the front grapple third functions 👌 Great chainsaw mount and rear view miroir and great mention about your favorite Gun Club 👍😉 Yes that QSQA is a great for the front buckets 😉👍 Yes lights are great 👍😉 Yes reading the tractor manual often is very important 🧐👍 See you on part 2 Cheers !!!
The 2501 has the same footprint as my son in laws 3301. I really like the physical size. Big enough to work but small enough for day to day plunking around. My little 7100 is a manual transmission. The other two are HST. You are right with there being advantages to both. Good video Gary.
they are the same tractor Wendell. Kubota simply puts in different engines. They are quite a step up in price from the L2501. Wasn't worth the money to me for my application. Would have loved to have the L3901.
Nice job, Gary. I considered the L2501 before deciding on the B2601. Looking back, I probably would have been happy with the the bigger size. No regrets though! -Ed
The B series are a much more deluxe tractor than the L series. My tractor is very much like the old iron from days gone by. Gear drive, transmission hump between your feet. We all have different needs and uses. I was afraid that my L2501 might not be big enough for what I wanted to use it for. I am very happy to say that it does fine. Very happy with it. Just like you Ed, certainly no buyers remorse here. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
I love kubuta tractor to, i used in my field, you said you USMC i also a Phil Marine ,the corp i love.

Thanks for the comment. Exactly all the same reasons for my choice of the L2501
Enjoyed
Looks like At tires. Thanks
great video. hoorah
With added grapple what would lifting in lbs be for instance lifting logs
I am not certain of that. grapples vary in weight. I will use one of my larger tractors for lifting logs. The Kubota will be lifting limbs. I don't want to push the limits too far.
Thanks for watching.
Love the videos man. I was curious about what size of wheel spacers you have and the total width with your current setup

Enjoyed your video thinking of buying l 2501 question your tire model & size. Thanks

Indeed. Thanks for watching.

Someone mentioned the other dat that the gear drive is not available in Canada.
Oh... that is why then! I'll have to be satisfied with an old tractor for now!
Hoping we can get a setup similar to yours within the next year or two. We've needed a true tractor for well over 10 years but never had the money for one.

Love the music. Nice intro.
Where did you get your strobe lights from
I found those on Amazon.

Semper Fi back. Glad to have you here my Marine Corps brother.

Thanks for the video! I am in the market for this one. Where did you get the saw holder and tool box on the rear?
I made the chain saw carrier. The tool box is a plastic Stanley tool box.
Thanks for watching
How did you mount your mirrors? Thank you
I used retrieval magnets. They are super strong and relatively inexpensive ( $8 each, I used 4 of them)
I've got the same exact tractor it's been great, gear drive 4x4 r 1s plenty of power best investment I've made
I agree. I am very happy. Love having it.
Looks great! What did you use for your chainsaw mount?
I did another video that shows the mount and how I made it. Feel free to check out that video. Thanks for watching
