Ever since the accusations happened they have stopped playing reruns which makes me sad. I realize that if he did what is claimed he should obviously be punished but I don't think it taking the show off tv altogether is right. I love the show it has some amazing episodes and all the actors are wonderful. Some of the episodes are hilariously funny and some have powerful messages. I've watched this show since I was little. I hope they put the reruns back on soon.
That's the difficult question : Can we really accept works, masterpiece of people knowing the really bad side on them ? Do they deserve rewards and all the attention (for a long time, years and years..) for the movies, or TV Show that they did, even with the great message behind these.. He'll never be enought punished for all He did in the past, because He has already lived all these years easily..soo, we can just watch the show and forget all about it..? I like the character too but it's not easy for everyone to separate the artistic side of the human being.. Sorry for my english! :) I think the debate still open..
I think it's simple. Who cares about them getting attention or not? Let me enjoy myself here. Bill Cosby himself doesn't give a shit if I watch it or not, so why not let me watch it? It's just the TV networks trying to look good to the public, to look like they're appalled at all the things they're supposed to be. And besides, what about all the other actors and actresses in the show, who didn't do what Bill allegedly did? Should their comic awesomeness be eliminated from public awareness too? That's not fair to them. It's total not worth screwing them (and us) over just to symbolically wag our fingers at someone who's in tons of trouble already anyway.
@@nthgth "The Cosby Show" was the product of a lot of people's hard work, writers, actors, set-designers, long etc. - some of the actors-Keshia Knight, Tempestt Bledsoe- grew up in it...it is not merely a "Cosby" work, so tarnishing all of these people's work over the conduct of one person involved is unfair and unjust. Fun fact. Latin Culture was kind of big thing in late 86 through late 87...in part due to the rapidly growing Hispanic group in the United States due to the Reagan Amnesty Act of 1986. Lots of pop stars did duets with Latin singers or sang/incorporated Spanish into or created Spanish versions of their songs. Cosby show rode that wave of Latin cultural coolness that was experienced in 86/87 with a latin/salsa themed intro!
Afro Cuban music has been known in the US since the 30's. Cosby would have been aware of its influence on jazz, especially from the mambo, cha cha, bugaloo, and the salsa, which was popular from the 60's to the early 90's.

Every season of The Cosby Show gave us an iconic and memorable opening. This one and season 2 in particular might be the most memorable and beloved of all. Right up there with the best of the 80s themes and openings along with Cheers, Family Ties, Night Court, Moonlighting, Knight Rider, MacGyver, LA Law, Hill Street Blues and The A Team.
This is always the one I remember most! With Bill Cosby wearing the most eighties jumper I think has ever existed! One of those shows I never saw a lot (being from the UK) but always enjoyed whenever I did see it...mad to think how big Bill Cosby was then...and I guess he is still is...for different reasons! I dunno, don't really want to spoil the nostalgia so won't go on, but I will say when I heard Bill Cosby going off against other comics for their 'naughty language' a vague idea went off in my head as to what he could be hiding...because no one spouts off over such a trivial thing publicly unless they are trying to hide something...but never imagined it would turn out like it did!
Rather than give negative feedback, as others have apparently done, I'll give at least one possible answer: it was the number one show on television for most of the 1980s. If you're inclined to believe that NBC has a history of dominating prime-time programming, then this show is one of the planks in that tradition.
I will remember Bill Cosby more for what he did with the Cosby Show, Fat Albert, and A Different World! What he has become now is not good but I can separate that from what he was before!
