Depending upon their altitude and similar conditions, aircraft are required to follow either VFR (visual flight rules) or IFR (instrument flight rules). Unlike airplanes, helicopters tend to stay at fairly low altitudes and thus depend upon VFR. If they go really low, their version of IFR stands for 'I Follow Roads' because on a clear day you can read a good road sign.

Was that along the western edge of the Zagros Mountains in Iran? It's a rollercoaster ride. Which, although I hate rollercoasters, has never bothered me in an aircraft. I have far too much fun watching other people's reactions.
