Withdrawing my kids from the liberal indoctrination public schools where I live and I knew Andrea would be the right one to show me where to start on homeschooling ❤️
Andrea Mills, you are fabulous. God bless you. ACE totally rocks and so do you. We did ACE for our kids for 11 years and I absolutely loved it. They did too. Forget the ACE, I had no idea of home schooling as I grew up outside USA, in India. I went to a private christian school, as well secular schools so getting to know that in ACE PACES start teaching the world made by God just warmed up my heart. God called me to homeschool and kids aced all tests, and were in 100s all the time. Thank God. Now our kids are in college so I so appreciate seeing you doing this for so many parents who have no idea. I actually did the training in Africa and kept the official videos but in the beginning coming from a business world, I used to cry that I wont be able to do a good job but we did great as we learned the system. My kids picked well as few of my friends who did ACE helped along the way and in no time we started doing on our own. I wish you tube was there when I started doing. hahaha...You are fabulous and so full of encouragement and details. Administration is my forte as well so I totally appreciate this. I made my own binders and transparent sheets as you have done. This is so good and I am going to share with my friends who may want to start doing this. I always get asked so this is a good tool. You are blessing so many. Please keep doing this great job and be encouraged. May God reward you for this.
I love this! I am a teacher at a private ACE school and I also graduated from the same school I volunteer at. This is the first video of a homeschooling mom using ACE!
Wow, that is one organized, nice, neat, and tidy binder! A whole school within a binder. Good video. We used ACE for one or two subjects a few years ago, we didn't like it, but it's a very popular curriculum. Very nice binder!
I love this binder idea. We've had issues of leaving booklets in different places around the house and having them all in one binder is an awesome idea. Plus using those magazine tabs is genius! Thanks for sharing your videos.
I just love all you do switching to ace from a very eclectic relaxed stage of homeschooling and I have problems with consistenty so hoping this helps me to structure at least homeschooling and pass on to other parts of life. I would love to see how you do things for homeschooling outside of ace. I envision doing things such as read alouds from ( sunlight reading list etc). Nature studies and such. I have watched so many of your videos and am inspired thank you so much for all these great ideas. If I had as much organization in your pinky life would be great. Thanks
Tom, this video might be helpful for starting the new school year, when each child gets a new binder. I like it because there's no talking. Saw from comments that someone pointed out the clothing inventory one. Maybe you could find "Fall/Winter Clothing Inventory" chart on her computer instead of watching the video. There's also a blank chart - no names or colors - on her blog if you go to Free Printables, then Organization, then go to the end of Matching Colors and there's also a short written description of her system.
+Beth Simmons Hi Beth! I haven't forgotten. I'm just slow! :) Next week we're taking a week off for spring break, so I'm hoping to crank out a bunch of videos. Of course, my ambitions don't always match reality, but here's hoping!
I LOVE this. I have been homeschooling for about 3 years now and every year I have to change things around. This year we started with SOME ACE but not doing it for every subject at the moment and I am finding that it simplifies things for me a lot. I love this binder idea because I live in a small house and find it difficult to get organized. I live in Ireland and we are required by law to register our homeschooled children with the government so I think something like these binders would be a great idea to show the TUSLA people when they show up for an inspection. At the moment, if they showed up I would be scrambling around trying to figure out what to present to them because I am SO disorganized. I’m definitely going to use this idea next year. Thanks for sharing. I love all your videos. Especially your Walmart shopping ones because I am American and I really miss Walmart. 😆
These videos are great. I've been homeschooling with ACE for over 10 years, and I went to ACE schools for 8 years of my schooling, but I still get ideas from you.
I actually went to a school that used the ACE curriculum and found it to be quite helpful. I considered using for my daughter, but I choose to use Time4learning with instead, because I only had one child, and didn't feel it was an economical choice for just one kid. Plus, she learns really well online and likes their videos. I do implement with field trips and hands on activities though. I also use binders to organize all of her online report cards and her essays I have her write after a trip.
I don’t know if you’ll see this as this is an older video but can you please tell me where I can get the magazine strips for holding the paces in the binders? I can’t get them in Ireland and I’m currently visiting family in the states and I want to get some school supplies while I’m here and that’s on the top of my list because I saw this a while back and just love how you did this.
Do you have a video on how you store your children's notebooks daily, organizational tips, maybe a homeschool area tour?? Thanks in advance! BTW, I've watched a ton of your videos, I'm obsessed!! They are very helpful!
Hi, great organozation!! We also do everything in a binder, we notebook along with lots of hands on activities. I am interested to know more about ACE and how you organize the First gradr binder. Thank you for sharing!!
I just found your video's on ACE and I am so excited!! I have used ACE on and off with my daughter since around 2nd grade and we will be starting 7th in the fall. I plan to use mostly ACE this year and I love this binder idea. Curious as to where the Multiplication and Cursive stickers came from? I graduated from an ACE school many moons ago! I loved it! Thanks again for this info. Looking forward to watching all your videos. :)
We started homeschooling last September and I'm still looking for something that works well for us (we have 4 kids under 6 years). I think the organization that ACE provides. Thank you for sharing your ACE vidoes :) I will be searching for the Catholic version of this or will attempt to at least use inspiration from the binder organization.
I just love this bind so much I am make one the same for my son. But I was wondering if you can show more of the scripture memory page, book report form, the schedule page and the front childs information page. If your able and willi g to share it would be a blessing.
What do you call the Pace separators, used to hold the Paces, I am having trouble finding them. Thank you for the videos they have help me and my family so much.
We will be starting ACE this fall and have for the past 7 years have been very unstructured and my son is dependant on me, my daughter not much so I think she will be fine but can you give tips on how I can transition and how to get my son to really enjoy school. Ha! Thanks for any suggestions.
+Beth Simmons I don't have anyone in Kindergarten this year, but I may recreate a binder one of these days so I can show how I do it. It'll be a couple of years before I have a Kindergartener again!
Beth Simmons Maybe you wouldn't mind helping me out a bit. I've never done a curriculum review video before and it would be great if you could tell me what kinds of things you want to know about or what questions you have. Then I could make sure to make a useful video!
I had seen a few of your vidoes when looking for something else related to homeschooling. I have been praying about this curriculum as the thing we are using now isn't working for my son. Your videos would pop up on my side screen whether or not I was looking for homeschooling stuff or not. So today I withdrew my son from an online christian school that was using all computer based curriculum and I am now in the process of enrolling him in an online school that uses the PACE's. I tend to be an organized person to start with, but this just gave me some better ideas on how to keep things together for when he goes to dad's house. One question, do you put all their paces in there or just the ones they are working on at the time. I have a 10th grader that I will be using this with, so what size binder would you recommend using for highschool?
We only put PACEs in it that are currently in use. The rest of the PACEs are kept in the file cabinet. A 1 1/2" binder will probably fit all of the PACEs, but if you want to add paper, a pencil bag, etc. for a highschooler I'd say a 2" binder would be better.
Hi, Andrea! You are doing a great job with your videos! I have a question for you about organizing paces. I have only one homeschooled student left and I couldn't justify spending the price of those plastic magazine holders. Can you please offer your second or third best way to store paces for daily use? Thank you!
I think you're the one who has sent us something in the mail before so I should have your address, but just in case if you would e-mail your address to me, I'd be happy to send you some. We have plenty of magazine holders here and we're happy to share. (andrea@andreamills.tv)
This may revolutionize, EVERYTHING for me. lol Thank you! Where do you get your sticker charts and all the accessories? Can they be found all at one store?
I bought the ones in this video at a teacher supply store, but they have tons of different sticker charts on Amazon. I ordered several styles this year.
I love watching your videos! We just recently bought ACE English and Math PACES for our kids and they like it! My son is having a little trouble adjusting because he was in the public school system for 6 yrs. I do have a question. I noticed you have a sticker for the multiplication table. Do your children rely on it instead of multiplying on their own? I think this is a great idea but my son still doesn't know his multiplication facts by memory and I am afraid that he would not learn them if he depends on the table all the time.
I let them use it if they feel like they need it, but if they're struggling we like to use Math Machines to practice. They get much faster with their math facts. This is the kind of thing I'm talking about: www.amazon.com/Lakeshore-Learning-Materials-Multiplication-Practice/dp/B004ZAKHHM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1490149893&sr=8-1&keywords=math+machine
Thank you! Thank you for this!!! We are planning to go ACE next year! The boys were in an ACE school a few years ago. Do you do the flags in your school? Where did you find the sticker charts?
Some years we use a flag system and some years we don't; it just depends on how things are going for us. I bought the sticker charts at a teacher supply store, but you can find lots of different ones on Amazon. Carson Dellosa is a name brand that should get you started in your search.
2 questions please:)? Where may I find the magazine strips that aren't an outrageous price? Also where may I get the stickers; cursive, multiplication, etc. Thanks Andrea! So thankful for your helpful videos!!
I just looked on Amazon and they had a range of prices from $7.65 for a 12-pack to $32.97 for 5 12=packs (60 strips.) They can be used over and over, so 1 12-pack is enough for 2 kids indefinitely. As for the stickers, I bought them at a teacher supply store. Here is a link for a similar one on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Scholastic-TF7003-Alphabet-Learning-Stickers/dp/0439732808/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468422295&sr=8-1&keywords=scholastic+cursive+sticker
To begin with you have to buy the paces and the score keys, so its more the first time, but you can reuse the score keys for other kids. Right now I pay about 3.30 per workbook, and they do about 12 a year in each subject.
Hi Carmen, For our Scripture memory, I copy a chapter of the Bible from an on-line Bible into a Word document and then "clean it up" a little (change the font, size it for the page, etc.) and add a little line at the beginning of each verse for me to initial. We started with the first book of Proverbs and I assign 2-12 verses per month to memorize. (1st grade is 2, 2nd is 4, 3rd is 6 until we max out at 12.) They must be able say the whole month's selection at once. I mark a line for how far they need to go that month and then make a new line for the next month. Once they finish a chapter we move on to the next chapter. I keep adding new chapters to my Word document and just print out whichever one someone needs when they need it. My book report form is one I made, but I also sometimes just find one on-line and print it out for the kids. There are any number of them out there.
+Andrea Mills, Thank you for these videos. Currently I am using Heart of Dakota and I really love it but my friend just introduced me to ACE. It's so much cheaper than HOD and I am wondering, can I still plan the fun activities and things with ACE? HOD includes arts and crafts and fun sceince activites... How can I use ACE and still do the fun things that my little kids (ages 6, 5, and 2 1/2) and make memories with them while theyre little? Thanks!
+Kelly Moore Ace does include some science projects, mostly in the older elementary stage. I've only ever used ACE, so I have nothing to compare it to. However, I like that all the academics are covered and I spend my planning time on preparing fun things for us to do. I enjoy arts & crafts, my husband teaches the kids Greek and we try to spend a lot of time outdoors playing games, exploring and working on Nature Notebooks. My oldest son (8th grade) needs about 4 hour a day to finish his school work. My other kids can finish in about 1.5- 3 hours. (Unless we're having one of "those" days!) That leaves us plenty of time to do fun activities together.
+Andrea Mills perfect! Thank you. Your kids seem so happy. I have read so many terrible things about this curriculum and I was a little scared to start it, but I don't see any of that with your kids. I'm glad I found your channel because there really isn't anything out there about how to organize it and do it with a more flexible schedule. Thank you! :)
+Kelly Moore I've been able to get them at a local office supply store, but usually I order them from Amazon. They're Rubbermaid 3-Hole Plastic Edge Strip Magazine Holders.
I bought them at our area teacher supply store, but I've seen them on Amazon. Here's a link for one to get you started: www.amazon.com/Carson-Dellosa-Multiplication-Stickers-168069/dp/1609964357/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502468972&sr=8-1&keywords=multiplication+sticker+chart
Andrea Mills thank you. Living in Australia and just about to start using ACE, we don't see some of the items you use. You have really helped me be at ease with ACE. BTW your family reminds me so much of my growing up. My parents owned a computer business for many years and I helped out as a youngster. I also had so many tech gadgets around me like you all do. Many blessings to your family xx
Andrea, PLEASE HELP! Is there another name for the magazine strips? I came in Office Depot but they say they don't have those. Where did you purchase yours?
I bought my first pack from a small, local office supply store. I've never seen them at our Office Depot. I've also ordered them from Amazon. Here's what you're looking for: www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-Magazine-Binders-12-Carded-RUBT02802/dp/B00007M9IU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501448333&sr=8-1&keywords=magazine+strips
I'm interested in ace. I remember I use some of them in my school in México. but I'm unsure how they work, I mean, I see the numbers in the paces but don't know what grade level they are. thank you!
+FamilyLife/VidaFamiliar There are 12 PACEs per grade level and they start with 1001. 1st = 1001-1012, 2nd = 1013-1024, 3rd = 1025-1036, 4th = 1037-1048, 5th = 1049-1060, 6th = 1061-1072, 7th = 1073-1084, 8th = 1085-1096, 9th = 1097-1108, 10th = 1109-1121, 11th = 1122-1133, 12th = 1134-1144. You can also go to ACE's web-site and there is a link at the bottom of the page to do a free on-line diagnostic test to show exactly where you child needs to start in their curriculum. (Also, Kindergarten is RR01-RR12.)
+Missy Carneado The one I'm showing in this binder came from ACE. I'm not sure if it's the style they currently have because sometimes they change the colors. Tomorrow I may show how to make your own goal cards, so check back Tuesday.
We do the same thing for all the kids. We do need a 2" binder to accommodate all of Thomas' high school work. We don't add all the stickers in the front of his book, either.
Andrea Mills Okay, thanks for replying! I found your channel and even though I don't have kids I love learning new ways to organize and with 10 people in a family there would be a lot going on in your house.
+Ajah Eason I score for them through second grade. Starting in third, I teach them to do it themselves. By then it seems they are mature enough to do a decent job at it.
It's a Brother P-touch PC Compatible label maker. My model is getting old, but they still make newer models. They use little cassettes that have different sizes and colors of label tape. It plugs into my laptop with a USB cable so you can design labels on the computer and print them out. I love it and use it all the time!
It's a Brother P-touch. It's PC-Compatible so you can design the labels on your computer and print them on the label maker. This one is similar to mine: www.amazon.com/Brother-Connectable-Label-Maker-PT-P700/dp/B00DSYEB28/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1486052917&sr=8-10&keywords=brother+p+touch+label+maker
Andrea! This is it ❤️ can you email me. I want to get the kit for this binder from you. Please share a list of all items and where to get or if I can get it all through you and ship to me I will put together. Thanks so much!
I love all the simple grammatical mistakes in a video made by someone who is supposed to be teaching children. Thomas' implies it belongs to multiple Thoma. That isn't the only one, it was just the funniest.
For your further entertainment from grammarbook.com: Rule 1: Many common nouns end in the letter s (lens, cactus, bus, etc.). So do a lot of proper nouns (Mr. Jones, Texas, Christmas). There are conflicting policies and theories about how to show possession when writing such nouns. There is no right answer; the best advice is to choose a formula and stay consistent. Some writers and editors add ’s to every proper noun, be it Hastings’s or Jones’s. And there are a few who add only an apostrophe to all nouns ending in s-however, this method is relatively rare, and not recommended here. One method, common in newspapers and magazines, is to add an apostrophe plus s (-’s) to common nouns ending in s, but only a stand-alone apostrophe to proper nouns ending in s. [as in the possessive form of Thomas ie Thomas'.]
Actually, I just didn't get the notification. I talked to my English teacher about this and she said that what Andrea said just isn't true. But I don't tend to waste my time arguing with people who only recently decided to accept evolution.
Then why are you arguing (and mocking, in your original post)? You brought it up. My entire reply to your comment was a quote from grammarbook.com; I didn't write it. Maybe your teach disagrees with them, too. At any rate, this entire conversation was an unnecessary snooze-fest. I don't even get your last statement. I still don't accept evolution. If you were a thinker, you wouldn't either.
I was taught in a public government school to put the apostrophe after the s in a word that ends in an s too. This was relevant to me at the time, since my brother's name ends in an s (James). I have also used this method currently in college writing without issue. I have been homeschooling for three years now and this is the method I am teaching my daughter as well. Thanks for the helpful content Andrea. Don't let the haters get you down!

Thanks for these videos! There's not too many videos of ACE. I used it in school and now I homeschool with it!

This is great! Thank you for the idea. This will definitely help us keep the PACES together , and I won't hear " Mom, I can't find my English again! "
I hope you have not forgotten. Thank you. Have a blessed day.

I absolutely love how you put together your kiddo's binders.

Where do you get the sticker chart of cursive and multiplication
I graduated from an ACE school as well! We had a very different set up. But it was a school and not at home.

I ordered several styles this year.
what a great idea.
at 0:03, I am so interested on those file holders on the wall! I stalk them in every video. Will you do a video on them?
+Just Sew Trish Yeah, I'll put that on my list. I made them myself because vertical file folders are expensive!
Thank you!
Thank you much!
Wow that’s amazing
How much does it cost per child to have them use the ACE schooling yearly
To begin with you have to buy the paces and the score keys, so its more the first time, but you can reuse the score keys for other kids. Right now I pay about 3.30 per workbook, and they do about 12 a year in each subject.
Hi again ❤️ what type of memory work do you include in the binder ..does the sheet come from ACE store and how about the book report form?
Thank you! :)
+Andrea Mills, where do you get those magazine holders?
+Kelly Moore I've been able to get them at a local office supply store, but usually I order them from Amazon. They're Rubbermaid 3-Hole Plastic Edge Strip Magazine Holders.
Thanks Andrea! :)
Would you mind to share your book report form?
Andrea, where did you get the stickers for the multiplication tables and the cursive? I have been trying to find them. Please Help!!
Andrea Mills , thank you!!!!!!😃
I'm interested in ace.
+Andrea Mills thank you so much for your answer, it is really helpful. I'll be checking that up!
Do you by chance have the goal card available to share?
+Missy Carneado The one I'm showing in this binder came from ACE. I'm not sure if it's the style they currently have because sometimes they change the colors. Tomorrow I may show how to make your own goal cards, so check back Tuesday.
What is paces?
As these binders seem to be more of a useful tool for younger kids what do you do for your older boys?
We do the same thing for all the kids. We do need a 2" binder to accommodate all of Thomas' high school work. We don't add all the stickers in the front of his book, either.
Andrea Mills
Okay, thanks for replying! I found your channel and even though I don't have kids I love learning new ways to organize and with 10 people in a family there would be a lot going on in your house.
Hey... Andrea do you score for your kids or do you let them score?
+Ajah Eason I score for them through second grade. Starting in third, I teach them to do it themselves. By then it seems they are mature enough to do a decent job at it.
Amazing!!!
Andrea...what label maker do you have?
It's a Brother P-touch PC Compatible label maker. My model is getting old, but they still make newer models. They use little cassettes that have different sizes and colors of label tape. It plugs into my laptop with a USB cable so you can design labels on the computer and print them out. I love it and use it all the time!
Thanks!
What label maker do you use ? ❤️
It's a Brother P-touch. It's PC-Compatible so you can design the labels on your computer and print them on the label maker. This one is similar to mine: www.amazon.com/Brother-Connectable-Label-Maker-PT-P700/dp/B00DSYEB28/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1486052917&sr=8-10&keywords=brother+p+touch+label+maker
im super delayed with my paces -.- i am homeschool using a.c.e. curriculum btw
😊
[as in the possessive form of Thomas ie Thomas'.]
chicky28799 lol you just shut up because you got served.
