I've played the game for 30 odd years and have never understood why people take centre. Absolutely no need for it other than everyone else does it so so should I!!

At the start of the innings it makes sense for your batting stance and how it aligns with the stumps. It also helps with knowing where your stumps are

I don’t think I agree, in my opinion it helps batsman know where there stumps and helps them set up their stance accordingly, also can help the batsman leave the ball more comfortably if they know in which line and where the stumps are.

you just gotta stay at the crease and get time in middle runs will come just dont give your wicket away hoiking it thats what ive learned opening this year and its completely changed my game, every shot you were already looking to go aerial bottom hand coming through and head in the air go back to basics runs will come not every ball has to go to the boundary
