Amazing explanation of this very confusing topic Best explanation of this in the overall UA-cam sir... Thanks a lot ❤❤❤❤❤ Keep uploading videos like this it will help us much to understand such topics... Thank you 😊😊😊
Sir could you list the semiconductor material which works in low temperature region s such as polar regions . And how electronics devices work in polar regions because si and ge range doest match .iam obsessed with this doubt sir
SIR YOU COULD HAVE GIVEN SILICON, AN AWESOME SEMICONDUCTOR WHY DIAMOND , DIAMONDS ARE INSULATORS BUT excellent explanation sir thank you sooooo much( its coming in 12th but not engeneering)
For Silicon the same explanation applies for 3s 3p band and for Germanium for 4s 4p band. As the size of atom is more in Si and further more in Ge, the equilibrium interatomic distance is reached earlier and the energy gap reduces. Even though it is 12 std concept it is required as a prerequisite to understand the energy band diagram. So, I have included it. Nice to hear that you liked it.. Thank you..
Now i know why my teacher plotted x axis as 1/r because we can't compress them more after equilibrium distance And it's better to show 1/r as you not gonna plot it after reaching equilibrium distance value
Sir can you upload a video on E Vs K diagram differentiating conductor, semiconductor and insulator ? Because everyone has uploaded showing the semiconductor only there is no clue of conductor and insulator.
To understand this E-k diagram you need to have some understanding of quantum mechanics. Please go through ua-cam.com/video/uYPKhRxTCfY/v-deo.html which explains this E-k diagram in a simple language..
Sir can we accomadate two electron with opposite spin in one energy level. So that quantum state is different but enegy is same. So that we called it degerancy. So my question is in one energy level two electron with opposite quantum state is available.
Amazing video I humbly request u to make some videos on Quantum Statistics and Quantum Mechanics Finite well and Tunnelling Effect as there is not that much of content available on youtube regarding that kindly consider it .. :) :)
The energy bands and energy gaps are formed due to the periodic potential energy of electrons in a crystal because electrons behave like waves. so need to apply the quantum mechanical concepts in order to understand this. Yu can refer to the material on Kronig-Penney model for more understanding.
In an atom , the energy of the electron, will be the potential energy (which depends on the position of the electron relative to the nucleus) as well as a kinetic energy.

where is the location of conduction band in an atom? you have shown the location of valence bond in an atom but not the conduction band. your explanation is so incomplete.
