Johnny should be given a starring role in a martial arts movie! His skills are amazing in the mold of well-known martial arts actors like Scott Atkins, Jean Claude Van Damme, Donnie Yen, et al.
Great demo and great movie. I'm assuming that this is primarily native Vietnamese martial arts, though I know that during the Vietnam War (which is way after the movie is supposed to take place) there were many Korean instructors there, so I'm curious if there's any TKD influence in these particular moves. Nothing wrong with that at all, since it looks great on film and, in the hands (or feet) of a proficient martial athlete, would probably work well on the mats in contest.
I also would love to see all Asia Martial Art Action ( Johnny Tri Nguyen, Toni Jaa, Jet li, Donnie Yen, Cung Le, Jackie Chan ... who else ? ) in one Action Movie and fight each other or together. It's like Expendable :) but problem is who would pay them all and can organize all of these thing. If Expendable is a King of Shoot-Action Movie, this film will also be King of Martial Art Movie. No Shooting, Only Fighting.
