He was so good at making other people look good that WWE used him in that role a little too often, and after a point, they beat him so much that it was impossible for him to really do anything else. It will be good for him to bounce around the indies for a year or two and then go back. Then they can do something with him. I met Nic at a Raw about ten years ago. I just ran into him outside of the arena. He was just out walking around among the fans. I was so caught off guard that I didn't even recognize him for a second. We ended up talking for a little while, and he is a really nice guy. I think he will have another run in WWE. It is a different company now. He just needs to reinvent himself and give it time for people to forget about the last few years of his run, and he will be fine.

The problem with Ziggler was that he was good, but he basically came off as a mixture of couple different guys and never really felt like he had his own distinct identity. People always compared him to HBK or Perfect. That and I don’t think the name Dolph Ziggler helped.
