    My life improved when I bought a Sekonic 308 light meter. It was $120.00 well spent.

      Thank you SO much for taking the time to say that. Hearing that means everything! I’m recording a couple new ones this week! I plan on making it more regular from now on.

    For outdoor shoots using the DF reflectors vs 7’ octo’s, about how far back from the group are you placing each?

      It really depends. The closer the light the softer it is so get it as close as you can without being the the frame.

    What are you using to teether your camera to your computer? I.E. Program/software

      Capture One! Until recently you couldn’t tether Sony with Lightroom but now you can!

    you mentioned it briefly in this video but what is you go to modifier/setup for outside large team photos (20-25 people)?

    No matter what I do, my key light exposes a lot of the wall around my backdrop, despite using ND filters, high speed sync, and haze (like in your little league baseball video). I expose for the background, but the key light is what does it. How do you avoid that?

    • @MattHernandez
      @MattHernandez  6 місяців тому +1

      You’re too close to the background. Try pulling your subject off of it and feathering the light, or add a grid to it.

      In this video my background is white so it is irrelevant.

      Thanks! Yeah, I was thinking more about the little league baseball video with the deep focus reflector with diffusion, but comments were turned off. I enjoy this video, too, so I just asked on here! I appreciate it! Absolutely love your stuff!!@@MattHernandez

    8:33 😂😂😂 let’s be nice to our models and give them something to do while we explain to the audience what we are doing. Also, maybe a light meter gets the trial and error out of the equation

      It was my step daughter. I think she was fine haha. Yes I bet it would! Never used one though. I’m sure it would help maybe I’ll look into it! I go by feel most of the time though and it’s worked out pretty well to this point. Thanks for the feedback!

      @@MattHernandez hey Matt I appreciate you commenting back! After reading my post, I felt that it was a bit aggressive, so I apologize if it was. I did enjoy your video and learned from it. Keep up the good work man and don’t take knuckleheads like me too seriously hahaha!!!

    Saw you in the background at the A9 iii announcement! One niche question I have is did you get to play with the new playback option where you can select your favorite frame. I believe that will be rolled out to the A1 as well. Would be great if they let you select your favorite then delete the rest of the files in the sequence in camera rather than having them hang out on your memory card until you clear it.
    Global shutter has huge implications for flash photographers like your style. For everyone else I think it’s just the precapture, LED lighting and frame rate for ball on stick type shots. But for flash, whole new world of possibilities.

      Yep I was there! I did get to play with it and it was pretty incredible.
