    • @-xphobia
      @-xphobia 3 роки тому +10

      @VI I suppose so, lol. But you could also call his mom giving birth to him the butterfly effect. Usually the butterfly effect is reserved for something you wouldn't think is entirely related. A butterfly flapping its wings to create a large gust on the other side of the world. You don't connect a butterfly and gusts or storms, but you do connect showing someone an fps and them finding out they're good at them together. It is just an odd example. No shade, man.

    If you have kids, be like Shroud’s dad.
    Support your kids. Encourage their hobbies. By excited for them. It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand it or if you think it’s a waste of time- those experiences you, and your kids, will remember forever.

    • @pcbangbros8350
      @pcbangbros8350 3 роки тому +17

      @@muhammedraashid3667 Yeah, becoming a pro gamer is a 1 in 1 million chance for most titles. People who say "support your kids mindlessly" aren't parents, if they actually had kids, they would understand that when you are a parent, and you see your kid going down a path of almost certain failure, your job as a parent is not to encourage their downfall but to impart wisdom upon them to make better choices. For every success story like Shrouds, there are dozens of thousands of stories that go unheard of because the person failed miserably and became poor, homeless, depressed, or woke up to reality and got a real job with stability.

He reached out to my stream in a way that didn't make it about himself. Nothing was "planned" ahead, as naysayers try to claim, he never tried to gain any promotion off of what he did, any of the "news" following his raid was from outside parties just sharing his awesome gesture. I mean, asking folks to use their prime subs on me, and not himself, is an obvious example that he was doing what he did to be kind, not for promotion.

    Stories like this always make me bittersweet. Most won't see this and most won't care, this is the internet, I get that.
    I grew up gaming and loving every second of it, I was well above average, and competed in local halo tournaments, one year I did very well in halo 3 tournaments and got invited to pax west. I thought it was gonna be my time. But I was in high school, my parents were avidly against video games, and refused to let me go, they even got rid of my Xbox because they were upset it was too much of a distraction.
    These days I game casually and although I'm above average, I'm nowhere at the level I used to be, and nowhere near a competitive level. I'm also too old to ever get into that seen, an I'm going to university and trying to build a career. My dreams of streaming or playing games for others are long gone.
    None of this is to say I would've made it big, or been a great streamer, but I wish I had gotten the opportunity to try. Most likely I would've faded out like most wannabe streamers/ hardcore gamers.
    Watching people like shroud, is a sweet moment, in fact I need to thank people like Shroud, Ninja, and DrDisrespect. My parents thanks to news coverage and obvious popularity of streaming and gaming have changed their minds. My dad even apologized to be out of the blue after watching news coverage on Ninja.
    These people broke through barriers that others like me couldn't. What amazing achievements.

    I always had no idea who shroud was, because I don't watch twitch. Just twitch fails on youtube. I did not know he was such a huge streamer, or why people even watched him because he was not really funny or putting on a show. as you said. But After watching videos like this I finally understood. He's imo probably the realest person you could watch in general. Be it twitch, or youtube. He does not have a fake personality like basically all twitch streamers. And for that you Have To Respect The Man Himself.

    • @sk8erbyern

      @Thereonthebanana 5 років тому +4

      @@sk8erbyern one thing you need to understand, is that no matter how much you enjoy something, a fake person is still going to be fake. Most people are fake nowadays because it's all about getting people to like you. Same wit lh twitch. They want people to like them, donate, sub, and watch them. Even if they are enjoying themselves, does not mean they are not fake.

      It's natural it would appear that way. The video fairly compared two styles and Ninja is the epitome of one of them. Ninja is everything that was stated in the video, but nothing stated was inherently bad and is the reason for his success. Whether or not they're "shots fired" depends on your own value judgements. Ninja thrives on being over-the-top in an oversaturated market. He's a performer for a different audience.
