I have the Rose Martin de Candre and you only need to swirl the brush a few times to get enough lather for a 3-pass shave. If this soap is in a rotation I should think it will last years.
I got a MdC used. I guess still 198 Gramm left. So i bought it and loved it. Now i have 3. And one is that in the wooden bowl. Are there better soaps? Maybe. But with that small ingredients list, it's only MdC. Awesome Artisan product. 😊
Fantastic shave Mr. Kevy. MdC are with Tabac and Saponificio Varesino (SV) my top shaving soap 😝 Rockwell 6S it's my razor, I watched your blue one that the blade didn't get well in the cap, hope you solve that problem 😉 Take care!
Martin de Candre is well worth the price of admission. It will last for a year in the 200g size. That alone is evidence enough to justify the cost of a tub. What a gorgeous brush! I am happy you are back on stage after that horrid two year lock-in caused by the Covid pestilence. A two week engagement sounds glorious! I also see that your subscriber counter is already on the move since surpassing 14,000; with already 100 past that mark. Stay well, Kev, and give my kind regards to Mrs. Kevy, and Riley B.
Yes, after 2 years and the virus is gone!! Now we can safely remove our masks, no need for precautions. Only 30 people die now every day here in Greece from this virus right now, so we can celebrate at last. The government stops the masks from the 1st of June almost everywhere! Now, with this money we saved from the masks we can buy soaps and brushes at last. The fact that still people die is irrelevant! They weren't our parents in the end, who cares?? So, stop the masks and precautions and d..., sorry, live freely!! (Kevy and Alex, sorry for my post, it isn't for you of course, just some thoughts... )
Actually I did buy samples of all but Natural scent some 3 years ago and later bought the 200g jar in Original, Fougere and Agrumes, I'll probably get the other 2 at some point. They cost a lot but it's the best soap IMO and the scents are excellent. I had the Rockwell 6S and it was a favorite for a while but I sold it...I still hace a Rockwell 6C for occasional shaving, I'm now a straight razor / shavette razor shaver so my DEs and SEs every few months might see some action. My favorite DE now is Muhler Rocca, favorite SE is the General V1 and favorite Shavette is Feather Artist Club DX wood. The brush looks beautiful. Good tip about Superdrug citrus aftershave. Thanks.
Rockwell 6S is in my top 3, together with HLS adj. Taiga, and Feather AsD2, and Martin de Candre finally is one of the most traditional exceptional infinity shaving soap, the Nature is there present. Take care my dear and have fun with shaving. Danilo
Another great shave Kevy!!!! After several years trying many razors from very inexpensive to very, very expensive the Rockwell 6S remains my absolute favorite hands down!
Hi Kevy- Great shave; thank you! I first bought the smaller, 50g tub, and then the larger size in a different scent. I enjoy them both and use them quite often, making it well worth the initial cost. Be safe and be well. Best regards, as always, Kevy!
You cannot go wrong with the renowned MDC and Rockwell 6s, lovely clean shave Kevy. I've yet to try the MDC soap, the up front cost of a jar is a lot of money for a soap I wouldn't use very often (I have a largish soap collection), maybe one day. Late Autumn weather here now, so cool (10c max), cloudy and wet. Have a great week.👊😎👍
Hi Kevy, great shave again! MDC has fantastic soaps. The Original has a great lavender scent and lasts for ever. Watching your videos got me into wet shaving and discovering different soaps. Greetings from The Netherlands.
Hi Kevy💈💈 Nice shave. MDC soap is certainly regarded as one of the best available and a jar will last a looong time. Sweet brush and the 6S is choice. Congrats on the cast call, have fun memorizing your lines and even more when in front of the crowd.. Its been over 150 days with no rain here and the temps are up in the 90's daily now, so I've been taking trips to the north country...with my shaves that is....gotta cool off somehow. Great video, thanks. Enjoy!
Hi Kevy. Well, possibly my favourite razor, with my favourite blade. That is a wonderful brush. I had a look on the website, and I think they're out of my price range. Very nice looking brushes though. I'm a badger fan really, although I have an Alpha G4 knot in a black Alpha handle that is really nice. As I've said before, my favourite brush is the Extro Cosmesi 'boadger' brush that I recently got. I urge you to try it Kevy, a superb Italian tricolour handle as well. Wow, this soap is out of my league as well. This shave is out of control. The aftershave is more like it. I just got a bottle of Ted Lapidus, do you remember that one? A bit like Kouros but classy. Regarding the soap debate. If I could afford this stuff I would get some. However, there don't seem to be many bad soaps out there. Dear, or cheap, they are all really good.
The 'problem' I have with MDC is I don't for a second doubt its reputation, but its price-point is such, you are well on your way to a bottle of a lovely fragrance, and as you say, it's at least 2, maybe three great soaps, so varying your options. As for the 6s... The dug's baz! 😁
i am still looking for a MDC rose , in my opinion the nicest scent is fougère , yes maybe one of the best soaps in the world , there are also some italian soaps competing , the only thing is that the ingredients of MDC are very selective , so results are wonderful, my family were users of MDC, normaly once a year they went to france to buy wine, champagne and soaps , brands like MDC, some from the area of provence , thiers lissard , and normal bath soaps such as marsalle etc, well the price is what it is , it is like french wines , the good ones are also no cheap , also 50 dollar is not much for peaple with money , you should understand that not all products are made for normal people , so a person who has a rolls royce is not going to use cheap soap haha
@@kevyshaves4109 well my neighbour has a white rolls , a silver bentley and 3 lambos , haha so not everyrone has problems buying expensive soaps regards from mexico
Great shave. I have had luck with the Voskhod blades. They’re mild, smooth and comfortable, and they get the job well done. I haven’t used them in a while nor have bought the 100 pack of them, but I’ll try to get them when I can. I would try a sample of MDC to see if it’s worth investing my cold hard cash into a full tub. It’s just so I don’t end up pissing away the money on something I won’t even like or anything that’s useless. Have a good one!
I’m gonna order a sample , I recently bought my first PAA the coke spices and it’s not as good as the cheaper lothur grooming ones , namkha is my all time favourite
Have the 6S on the same setting, actually might use it tonight. Martin De Candre is on my list, don't think I've heard a bad word about it. Awesome shave mate. 🙌🪒
I agree that Voskhod blades aren’t the best fit in the Rockwell 6S. The Gillette Nacet & 6S is my favourite combo. Fun shave as always. You can recite a few lines from your play next time. 😂 cheers
With your massive collection of razors, how on earth did the Rockwell 6S come around in rotation again so soon? Your listed schedule approved by the UK Shaving Federation in the latest edition of UA-cam Shaving Today indicated it wouldn't be used again until February 2024.
@@kevyshaves4109 Kevy, Always appreciate your content. I noticed you have a few Rockwells. Habe you found them to be consistent across the board in terms of quality control, performance and feel? I have a 6s already and love it. Looking to get a second as a backup. Thanks, Matt

It's always nice to watch you using my favorite DE razor. I only use the R5 plate if I have 2-3 days of growth. R3/R1 for my daily shaves. I always get a comfortable and close 3-pass result. $75USD ($10 per oz) is way above my price point. How would you compare that soap to Tabac which is about 1/3 the cost per ounce? Cheers.
My comment on MdC is this. At first I didn't like it other than the scent. Learned to load heavy and add water and it is fantastic. Some people say it takes a 15 second load and your good. Do a minute or 45 second load. You will be rewarded. The cost per shave is dirt cheap. I have them all but the Citrus (not a fan of citrus forward). My Rose jar 200gm I use at least once a week for 3 years still has 80% after 3 years. Just because the up front cost being high it doesn't need to be used gingerly. Once you have this soap down it will last for more than a year used daily. Nobody will do that but the math says at 65 dollars a jar at 365 days it's only. .178 cents a shave! None of my other soaps do that.i think people lose sight of cost per shave or how to use a hard puck. Even softer soaps like PannaCrema Nuavia last forever once you learn them. MdC isn't limited nor going away anytime soon. It's not a special occasion soap. Sorry for the rant but 18 cents a shave is cheaper than most new artisan soaps. A lot more!
Martin de Candre is definitely worth the money. Cost per shave is one of the best deals going.
The Rockwell 6S in 316´er Steel, that's it. I love my RazoRock Gamechanger 68P, but the Rockwell always works, even if the skin is irritated.
You got a nice tan buddy!!! Nice to see you back!!!
The Rockwell 6s with a Wizamet blade is certainly the most efficient shave! You have to try it to believe it!
