    Why doesn’t anyone seem to talk about how tough toddler life is?! 😭 I am in the thick of it at the mo and it’s no wonder we feel down. Battling with a small person from the crack of dawn until bed time is so draining. Plus everything else on top, life admin, house chores, trying to maintain a relationship etc etc. So glad you have decided to have some therapy. I had it previously and it really did save me. Just having someone to talk to is such a big help. Keep going, you are honestly doing amazing! Big hugs x

      Thank you so much lovely. it is really overwhelming isn't it. Most days I don't even know how I make it through. I just can't get the balance right at all and feel like I fail everyone and myself. Hope you are ok, we will get through it xx

    Aw love how your keeping it real Liv. I have two toddlers and OMG it is HARD! The daily tantrums are real bad at the minute but at least I know I am not alone. I have also started my own lil UA-cam channel and it’s a great little hobby to de stress but also keeping it real with the kids! 🤍 U are a great mummy! X

      Thank you so much!! Sending so much love your way, it can be hard and speaking out about it as it is unfortunately, still not normalised. But I will keep doing everything I can to show a realistic account of motherhood. I definitely had a warped perception of it because of filtered content online, so want to do everything I can to show the good bad and ugly all faces of motherhood. Hope you're ok lovely xxx

    Hi Liv :) New subscriber here through Shan’s channel. I am right in the thick of it with you (lovely but very tricky 2 year old and 7 month old). Thank you for sharing your journey, I am so grateful for content like this. Lots of love xxx

      Hey lovely, aww thanks so much for finding me. That must be so challenging and rewarding at the same time. You sound like a lovely mum, we will get there in the end. I feel like every month that goes by I have a tiny little slice of myself back. I genuinely feel like the key to it all is actually just focusing on your new self identity and working on yourself then everything else will click into place xx

    You really are an amazing woman! ❤️
    I totally agree that you need that time to yourself or with others without your boy but it’s so difficult! So glad you’ve started doing it!
    I’m finding it so difficult because I’ve got 2 under 2 and when we do go out, no-one talks 🤣
    Love your content and you are lovely Liv! Xx

    Hi lovely , Iv got 2 children (6&3) and Iv had pnd with both of them before. I have had anxiety since 19. So as you can imagine I have had a lot of counselling and medication over the years. The best thing that I found was the therapy and now I don't take anything and try to self manage it. The best therapy I had was with a charity called ' light peer support ' I'm not sure if it's just a local thing to me here in Yorkshire. But they were a charity for women who suffer from all types of pnd. The cbt never worked for me. So even if you're not sure if it's depression or pnd it could be worth looking into.
    Really hope you start to feel better soon ❤ you're very brave sharing xxx

    Try refrain from asking him why he's done something. Toddlers act on impulse and they never know why they've done something ❤

    I am unsure of where Arlos journey is at but I think it is really important to point out that a child cannot be referred to as having SEND needs or a child with SEND until a formal assessment has taken place with a pediatrician and a formal diagnosis has been given. These kind of documentations are exploratory only.

    Having time away from your son is needed for both of you. Its good for your mental health. When my son was little i had time away from him for a day with a friend and i felt guilty but they are fine. You should pin another date down with your friend so you don't go another 3 years without doing it !

      Yess, we are arranging something again soon. Its strange I do feel like I've lost my arm whenever I go out without him, He's like a safety net for me. But so important to do things just me, I agree. Hope you have a nice week xx

    Stimming is self-regulation behaviour when there is a big emotion. Could be from feeling overwhelmed by a situation or excited. Stimming could be physical like hand flapping, head banging, spinning or rocking. It could be also be vocal like squealing or shouting. It’s any behaviours that help to settle their nervous system. Adults can stim too, nail biting could be an example

    It was my sons 2 year check it was picked up he has Autism, he was diagnosed at 3 ,I think it's brilliant you are doing this, stimming is a noise children use to regulate themselves (sorry watching while commenting) ❤

    • @athomewithliv
      @athomewithliv  Місяць тому +1

      Oh wow that was fast, well done you for picking up on it and getting him diagnosed. Its all so confusing and new to me. I don't think Arlo does stimming, we have got our second appointment on Thursday. I feel completely warn down, he is constantly hurting me at the minute pulled a massive chunk of my hair out I could see my scalp on the tip. Nursery drop off again yesterday was so bad. Worrying about going away without him, I worry how he's going to cope. He has been very clingy last couple of weeks, even started coming in our bed every night which never used to happen. Sorry for offloading. Hope you are ok and have a nice week. xx

    • @zoeward4290
      @zoeward4290 Місяць тому

      You can offload anytime,I was lucky my son is 21 this year, he started talking and then stopped, we had the same behaviour when he was Arlos age and I work with children the same, I get nails dug into me regularly with a little girl, it is so hard, but it does get easier as they get older and when you know exactly what he has you will get better at dealing with it,you will know his triggers and you will find strategys that will help,also the sleeping with you could be a sensory thing,my Son always slept with me,had to be in the cruck of my arm,he wouldn't sleep otherwise, he was about 6 when he started sleeping in his own room xx

    You need to have one day a week for yourself, it will boost your mental health 😊 we knew at the age of 3 that there was something going on with my grandson. It sounds like you need a change of medication. Congratulations on your approval 🎉 hopefully it will happen soon 🙏🏻

    SSRIs didn’t agree with me either and doctors act like there are no side effects. Also years of counselling and CBT through IAPT didn’t do much for me beyond a certain point. I had severe depression, anxiety and body dysmorphia. My self worth was non existent. What helped most is a few years of private psychotherapy with an integrative psychotherapist who combines multiple approaches including psychodynamic, trauma-informed, CBT, and others and personalises the therapy to me. I got it first through a reduced fee service it’s worth looking into if there are any of these in your area for people on low income. Then I followed my therapist into her private practice and reduced from weekly to fortnightly. It has helped me so much. It is expensive though

      I would definitely look into therapy in fact I think this should be tried first before medication. The pressure to take meds is crazy even from your own family and just people in general it’s almost like if you have a mental illness you are obliged to take pills otherwise you’re perceived as irresponsible or not trying your hardest to get better. Therapy is a really effective and good option for the mental health problems you’re describing! Wishing you luck in finding what works best for you, it can get better x
