@@RadialSeeker113 Hideo has really good ideas, and maybe he doesn't tie them up together that well. MGS also had really really cool strong ideas, about an anti-war message, about secret tom clancy type shadow government conspiracies, about all kinds of stuff, about society, control. But MGS also had a very loose plot. But MGS also had awesome characters with crazy super powers and great characterization. Death Stranding also suffered from similar problems, it had a great premise of societal depression and the need for a new dawn for humanity, and the personal story of whatever the guy's name is, who was just a very ordinary everyday man, blue collar guy, not many people paid attention to him, he doesn't have high status, so he also has a character arc. Also a lot of Hideo Kojima projects have this element of japanese "weird" that really clashes with their cool ideas and premises. Like in Death Stranding you had those weird giant statue looking things with wires coming out of their hands and that had no head. Wtf was that about. It's just too weird. Lots of japanese things have this element of being too weird, ghost in the shell has those tachikomas that completely don't fit in the universe and really like not just break but maybe ruin a great like political/crime spec-ops thriller/fiction because you have these comic relief characters, etc. Trigun had this weird arm gun thing with feathers coming out, lol, wtf was that all about. Japanese people sometimes make things way too weird, and especially in sci fi or realistic settings or tones they add a bunch of weird af stuff that doesn't fit the setting, or makes it a fantasy setting.
the cat dipped the fk out LOL
Hideo Kojima is a genius, and anybody who disagrees will be pelted with discounted copies of MGS2 for PS2 found in the bargain bin until they agree.
🤣👍
Well death stranding was boring af, but dudes an artisté

Hideo Kojima may be a genius, but the quote is from Arthur C Clarke, in 1968
