I get what Chaz is saying. Although it’s a choice and you don’t “have to” many people have in fact en graphed the internet into their life and it is no longer a choice for them. It’s in fact a real place. it’s not just black and white especially for the younger generations
Lol after rewatching i figured chaz out (only took 10 yrs 😂). Its not that he always way off. He takes a round about way to explain what he’s actually trying to say. Is INITIAL statements are always wild AF though 😂 buuut theen you like ooo ok u was tryna get to this point ok. We gotta just keep letting big ready talk. EVENTUALLY he gets there
I agree with Chaz about the internet is a real place. I think people forgot there is more to the internet than just social media. Jobs, streaming services, information, news, etc is all online. Now I agree it is a choice to partake for us adults but as kids/teens that FOMO is tuff to ignore.
Saw Keon in DC. Im glad the host opener or K did NOT do crowdwork. We came to have a good time not to be called out. I think Chaz is speaking for those that r desperate to be on a viral clip.
I think the sex symbol thing is based on confidence and swag of a man. Because there are some dudes that are not attractive but can get it cause how the move and there charm.
You do have to teach your children to navigatve the internet if they are going to be on it and they can wield it accordingly like Craig said. Even for adults: there are PLENTY of ways to navigate the internet- lurkers like Keon said, information gathering, fashion, tips, whatever. The internet does have real-life impacts like Chaz said but real life will humble alot of folks.
Everytime I hear yall talk about the ups and downs of comedy and show philly love I do a proud clap lol Please don't every stop coming to philly we will pull up with good energy!
Having the CHOICE not to subscribe to Sociial Media is a privilege. To Chaz point of the younger generation, news, communications etc. And also, having successful businesses. It's literally the first thing people advise entrepreneurs to do to be successful. Even corporate businesses strive better when they have successful social media engagement.
I agree with Chaz the internet is a real place it’s a part of our society in countries all around the world now of days it is our reality basically what keon is saying is comparable to going outside going outside and experiencing the world is a choice but it’s also convenient and our main source of connection just like the internet so would you call outside not a real place?🧐
19:27 @Chaz it’s a big part of YOUR world as a comedian or influencer. But there is a large swath of folks who are not beholden to social media. It absolutely is a choice. There are many people who choose to NOT participate in social media. There are millions of people on social media; there are billions of people in the world.
Keon is a good time!🎉🔥 Actually, I can honestly say they all are a good time. When I meet Chaz, I told him, "Hold up let me suck my stomach in before we take our picture." He responded, "Me too." I knew right then Chaz, was a real one! 🔥🔥🔥😂😂😂
Keon saying “If I didn’t do this for a living I wouldn’t be on social media” is the proving the point of what Chaz was saying. It’s a choice but for people that get their money from the people, have a business, etc you pretty much have to have an online presence in 2024 unless you’ve already established a fan base before the internet era. Even then socials grow that. Not to mention not knowing what’s going on in the world (via social media) can cause disconnect where talking with your peers. It’s not as simple as “it’s not a real place”
18:51 Now this… I completely agree with Chaz on. The Internet is a real place. It’s the opinions of real people, even if some accounts are bots, those bots were created by real people. It is definitely a real place. It’s a choice to use it, just like it’s a choice to live amongst the rest of society (the Amish for instance), but if people are cyberbullying me & I decide to log out of *insert social media app here* & just chill in my bed, those same cyberbullies could track the IP address of my last post, connect that to my exact location & show up at my residential address, so now the “Internet” is knocking on my front door. Still don’t think the Internet is real??🤔 & this is all coming from a 34 year old that was like 16 (sophomore/junior year) when Facebook/MySpace 1st became popular to the masses in 2006
I went a week without a shower once. There was a good reason, tho, without saying too much. Fortunately, I wasn't able to do anything for that week, activity wise, so I didn't start to smell bad that much.
Saying the Internet is a choice in 2024 is like saying travelling in cars is a choice. On paper you right, but really you couldn't be more wrong. Bro, my local union uses Facebook as their website. Social media does not function as an optional aspect of life in these days and times, whether it's technically a choice or not.
14:03 I feel Chaz, but in my opinion art doesn’t have boundaries, so I feel like he contradicted himself. Art to me is an individuals version of expressing themselves that evokes a reaction from the spectators so that could mean if I’m a pro wrestler my opponent/collaborator & I getting in the ring & doing what we want to do or we just get in the ring & ask the audience to give us 10 things they want to see in this specific match (pro wrestling version of Jeremiah Watkins’ Stand Up On The Spot). If you’re a comedian and you perform jokes you’ve written or you’re able to bring the energy of the audience into your world & bounce off it (crowd work), they’re both forms of art. When you go to the fair & you pay the artist to draw you & they basically draw a cartoon character version of you with certain attributes of yours being overly accentuated for comedic effect, I think that’s still art. It’s the artist using their skill to bring you to life from their POV. You don’t have to be a fan of it, some people hate the act of skateboarding, but these are all still forms of art to me🤷🏾♂️
I agree with you its an art. Freestyle jazz, rapping, painting... all is an art... on a special is a chance for you to put your masterpiece on display... if Nas, Kanye, Lauren Hill, freestyled their entire albums and not put their heart and soul we would be missing true classics. A comedy special is your time to put on your best art you crafted. Freestyle is an art but if it's your masterpiece then... okay... lol
@@CHAZRODGERS I get it from that perspective. I think they are both capable of being classics tho. Wayne has a few mixtape classics that I think he just played the instrumental versions of songs he liked & just went in the booth & just spit whatever came to mind with no writing needed. I think when you’re great at a thing, you have the ability to make a special moment anytime you’re doing your art. You may not MAKE it a classic that specific moment, but you had the ABILITY to as long as executed precisely. When Andrew Schulz dropped his 35 min “The Crowd Work Special” on YT back in ‘19 it had the potential to be a classic. Honestly I may have to watch it again because it might be🤷🏾♂️

The choice is connected to the freedom and luxury that MOST people CAN NOT handle.
