Valkyria Chronicles 1 had a great story and was a great proof of concept. Valkyria Chronicles 4 has a great story and refined the concept to pretty sweet gameplay.
the one thing that really put me off was the ranking system, just took stratergy out of the equation for raw speed and order abuse however it did feel nice beating maps with god Alicia and tank slayer Rosie
Gotta go with VC3 being the best out of all of them It might only come up short graphically but anywhere else it pretty surpasses all the others by far.
Plotwise, 3 is the best. Nameless were really heavy underdogs compared to Squad E, Class G and Squad 7 who had enough support. But I noticed the lack of map variations on missions which is understanble. Gameplay wise, 4 takes the cake as it is massive compared to the rest of the games. Maps are varied too and grenadier is a really great new class. Although the Armored Tech are great in 3, the class changes and potential masteries felt complicated.
I think the next one will be from the viewpoint of Japan's equivalent as it was kind of "foreshadowed". But the Empire's version will possibly come out at some point... even though I don't really see what it could be about... other than you being the strong one and kicking the weaker countries... or some sort of a "traitor"...
@@Petya-yx2hl I mean there was a dlc from the first game that showed the early victories of the empire from the early battles from the gallian invasion maby they can do some kind of prequel campaign to when the empire first formed or during the early years of the main conflict of the games.
the game after 4 sequels is still kinda broken, in the first entry was Alicia rushing with healing and now in 4 you can do it with 3 characters at the same time lol. They have nerfed the scout rushing a little bit but rushing with minerva in 4 still works. I wish they remove that rank system or change the requirements so i don't feel that i have to rush every mission.
I do think 4 at least has missions where scout rushing even with Minerva isnt the only way you can play efficently. I feel like there are maps where the tank shines and all the classes are useful. Valkyria one was just having Alicia run from one end to the level to the end in 90% of cases.
@@GutsOfRiviaI see this as a common complaint, but wonder if it's coming from people who are talking about repeat plays. Because I reboufht the game and doing my first playthrough again and in the first playthrough, you absolutely have to us every single class (except the snipers).
@@PearLock Once I figured out that Alicia can basically run past 90% of the game to win it kinda ruined the magic of the game for me tbh. Ofc there are some maps where this dosent work but its still WAY to many to ignore.
@@GutsOfRivia On first playthrough though? For sure, after you're maxed out and doing other playthroughs, but I'm finding myself using all of the classes right now.
@@PearLock First playthrough was fine I had fun using the tank and all the other classes. But replays tend to get sullied once you know the secret (not so secret) trick.
Id struggle to separate them. I actually like the characters in 4. Ok Raz is a bit of an idiot. Some DLC where the two squads meet shows how similar to Rosie he is in temperament. Only ever got so far through one though. The mega tank mission always stuffed me. Finished 4 twice now. Once on PC and once on Switch
I liked it, but to me it could have been much better. In VC 1 most stages and bosses felt very different from one another, which kept me invested in the game. In VC 4 the amount of times I had to defeat Klaus for example, only for him to act all smug once I defeated him was pretty annoying. Like bro I just wrecked your tank with the hafen and 2 lancers, how are you even alive? It would have been cool if he got a completely different tank in every fight, instead of using a more armored version of the same one. I like the main cast of VC 1 better too. VC 4 did an amazing job with the side characters and their respective squad stories though I'll give it that.
With how Scout Rushing is such a dominant strategy and how few units are needed to win, the next game might as well be about guerrilla fighters instead of playing as a whole platoon At least then, calling themselves a "squad" would make more sense
i kinda find it sad that vc 2 is last i really enjoyed that we had more classes and more personality with every character not only having their own mission but also having their own story line you can interact with on the campus
I feel the reason why it's usually last is because of the map repetition and the too school anime-esque plot and too anime stereotype characters. There's no tension like the other games. It's just Valkyria Chronicles slice of life which is kinda odd when you compare it to the other entry in the series. Mind you, I liked the gameplay but after you have played through the same map over and over again...it gets kinda boring fast.
Vc2 is cool and fun but you can't deny that there's a lot of problem in the game. This is the reason why a bought my psp back in the day. I really did enjoy it. The grinding stuff could have been be enjoyable however the randomness of awards given that puts off alot if people.
@@Saifullah-nj9mz definitely finish it. If your min maxing the grinding stuff will be annoying but you can just ignore some of it and just do the mission. Though some of the maps are repetitive. The combat is still good. If your burn out of the game. Maybe you should take a week break from it and play other stuff. When you come play it again you will enjoy the game again.
VC3 needs an expansion, the Game is a Masterpiece and it just needs more Big maps in the post game and thats all...if they want to add more dlc character i would be more happy...
My top 5 1. VC4 (Loved the story and characters. Even the Stereotypes are done really well for a fun factor). 2. VC1 (Great Origins and Nostalgia factor) 3. VC3 (Amazing concept but limited hardware) 4. VC2 ( Super Limited but full of charm) 5. VC Revolution (Not as bad as others say but could have done better).
My first valkyria is VC 2. It was fun but quite grindy. I enjoyed that one had more customization and had more focus on the social aspect. I just recently played VC1 and VC4. I was quite surprised that the original VC 1 was much simpler and not too grindy so far(in chapter 6). I played a little of VC4 and the gameplay much closer to VC1.
In all honesty I think I would have put Valkyria Chronicles 3 in front of Valkyria Chronicles 4 because I personnaly had a better time playing it and I enjoy Kurt a bit more as a leader than Claude. Great video either way !
I’m playing VC4 right now but I have great memories of VC2 which I still haven’t fully completed yet.. I’d love to see a new localized version of VC3 being most people perhaps haven’t played it.. Another cool idea would be a prequel taking place 20 years earlier WWI inspired
or a sequel in the Middle East, where they happen to find some kind of alternate fuel, that is definitely not black, not a liquid. I would like it to take place in 1947, or 1946, around that time. But I'd imagined the environment to be just have sand dunes and oasis for 75% of the playtime, or a sequel in South America or whatever it's called over there, hell, even Asia, which is likely because the Far East was hinted a few times in VC4.
I had no idea there was a Japanese only PSP release. Downloading the English patch now, it looks soo good. I'm starting with 2 on the PSP now though as an introduction to the battle system. Always wanted to play this series and now I finally am!
that's what I'm doing now!!! I'm replaying VC2 on my psp after not playing for over 10 years. I love it so much. And I haven't even played the other games in the series so I'm doing what you did. Downloading the localization patch for the PPSSPP emulator. Cheers bro!
Valkyria Chronicles 2 is the one I'm currently playing. Mostly because it's the only one I could get to work for my emulator on my phone. Tried the 3rd one but it wouldn't work. 🤷 Don't have the money to get any physical copies of the games so this is all I could do. I've seen you talk about these games many times which is why I wanted to try them out. Any tips for the 2nd game for a beginner to the series?
1. Grind a lot (certifications for better classes) 2. Ignore Lancers in late game or level up them into Mortar class. Why ignore them in late game ? It's simple - AT Snipers with Anti Tank Sniper Rifles (from Scout branch) are far better than Lancers with very low accuracy. Mortar class is great in late game, because u can easly defeat V2 with them or kill grouped enemies in camps. 3. Tank B is the best tank in game. Why ? Their turn cost only 1 CP, great mobility and have very strong machinegun vs tank radiator / infantry / V2. 4. Do classmate missions ASAP for unlocking their hidden potencials. 5. In late game there is a very OP enemy unit - V2. Kill them ASAP, because they have:: good mobility, endurance, strong attack dmg against infantry, and they can easly one shot your tank. The best class for kill that guys are: Commando (with Flamethrower), Mortarer, Sniper Elite (with triple shot Sniper Rifles like Brondel), Fencers Elite and ofcourse tank. Gunner with light machine gun (Heavy Gunners are worse because they deal better dmg, but have very low attack range), is also good with defense from them in enemy phase. 6. Enemies Aces drops very good waepons, especially submachineguns for Schocktroopers like Hildr. 7. Ignore Enginner Elite class, Medics are much better choice. Medics can not only heal your units, but also revive your troops in battle. Buffers and Debuffers classes like Anthem Corporal are also usefull, especially in maps with many enemy infantry like Ragnite Mines. 8. Mauler is best class VS tanks i strongly recommend them with characters with ,,VS Armor boost'', they making Lancers the most useless class in game. 9. Ignore orders. They are nerfed to much, and cost much more CP than in VC1/VC3/VC4. They are still strong, but high CP cost is just not worth it. 10. Avan is very unique character, because he can by any class in game. The best class for him is not default Scout but Fencer Elite with Doube Movement hidden potential.
@@ErickLandonRPG I also found the ratio story vs gameplay to be more toward story instead of 50/50. The gameplay is way faster in this game. but the story scenes are still as long as in chronicles. That is not necessarily a bad thing since revolution has quite the complex setup with five traitor that fomented a war. no spoiler please, im still at chapter 2 out of ten.
Valkyria Chronicles 2 is great. I'm not really one to pay attention to stories in a game, As long as the gameplay is great I'm good with it, as for the grinding problem, I didn't really care, At least it'll take longer for me to end the game so I have something that can kill my boredom. I'm the type of player who grinds a fk ton before actually doing the story missions.
4:32 I am sorry to be THAT guy but, in VC3 they were a PENAL squad not mercenaries. IE they were criminals/undesireables in the GALIA army (not the federation) and they were fighting a squad of Empire Darcsens (also undesireables in their own country) which is honestly WHY vc3 has the best story line out of all the games.
I can only go top 4, because I haven’t played rev yet. 1. Valkyria chronicles 1 2. Valkyria chronicles 4 3. Valkyria chronicles 3 4. Valkyria chronicles 2 Love this series to death and I hope we get a 5th game. Even a remaster for Valkyria 3 would be awesome.
I would say Valkyria Chronicles 4 is better than 1. Despite my love for the original, there is no doubt in my opinion that Valkyria Chronicles 4 is better, nostalgia goggles can not blind me to that fact. It is literally VC1 but with more content, more depth for side characters, and a story that for me ended up being just as memorable as the first.
Is there any point of buying the bundle on the Nintendo eshop which has the Valkyria 1 and the Valkyria 4 bundled together. Or is it better to just get the 4 with the extra DLC included? Thx
Hi, Eric! Thanks for your video. I have a question regarding the 4:00 time code. Why VC3 look so good there? It feels like a PC port or something because there is anti-aliasing and the graphics are smooth.
VC4’s story impressed me so much, it’s one of the tightest, thematically consistent and well-paced plots in any RPG I’ve played, with very dynamic and likeable characters and a truly stand-out villain in Forseti. Both it and VC1 have excellent combat and maps but VC4’s magnificent writing boosts it far ahead of the original for me, without a doubt.
I agree wholeheartedly. I bought it last year and only played a couple chapters before stopping. Decided to download it again a couple weeks ago and my god i fell in love. The story and the characters were all so good, including the villains. Even when he was trying to kick my ass i was always cheering on Walz and wanted him to have a good ending.
mostly agree, but the new class, grenadier are not so balanced (first patch), and the enemies/events always 'pop up' in the middle unexpectedly, and i have to save, load to get S rank. It is annoying. But still VC4 is much more better than revolution, Revolution is not VC series, it is even not a strategic game, it sucks
My first game was the 4 and it was amazing. Later I tried the remaster of the 1 and didn't feel right. Rather, it feel different. I guess because the 5 has a better port for PC than 1.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 was an incredible letdown. VC1 was a breath of fresh air. VC2 took the limitations of the PSP hardware as an opportunity to add more varied mechanics and much needed depth to customization and growth of characters. VC3 combined and refined the storytelling of VC1 with the mechanics of VC2 into the best Valkyria Chronicles game to date. VC4 came along and reverted to everything VC1 had already accomplished, introduced a single new class while doing away with so many that VC2 and VC3 had introduced, and went from the wonderful storytelling and character depth of VC1 and VC3 to stock and trope characters, including one who is supposed to be endearing not just in spite of his constant sexual harassment of female units, but BECAUSE of that harassment. VC 1, 2, and 3 all improved upon their predecessors, something 4 completely failed to do.
Same as you , but its hard to pick because all is great , VC2 is my first and i love playing it so much , then i went for VC1 but I prefer the anime , better story and emotional moments , cant even hold tears . VC3 is literally the best , VC4 is good and well-designed , nice story and even happier when i unlocked the true-ending
If we ever get a VC5, the biggest change I'd like to see made is the adoption of an XCom-like wound/fatigue system so there's more incentive to vary up your squad. I'd also like to see the extra turns taken away from leaders, because it punishes you so hard if you don't take all your leaders on every single mission. I just finished VC4 and felt like I got stuck with the exact same squad every single mission, except I could switch up the Lancer. And also the Engineer, but there's only 3 Engineers. Granted, unlocking Squad Stories is a huge incentive to try to squeeze every soldier in somewhere, but I want a gameplay incentive.
I agree with a fatigue system 100%, I've played 1 more than once and every single time I never used most of my squad, let alone the reserves benched in the barracks. Not sure about removing leader units though. Just as losing a leader stings, having enemy leaders to focus on to starve the AI out of CP is one of the few strategical elements this series actually has. Also 4 made leaders even better by making them able to team up with other units, that's an ability that I had a ton of fun with and I'd hate to see it gone.
And add cover system like in XCOM/Gears of War, because cover behind ONLY sandbags is really outdated mechanic. Plus give us customization from VC3, with unlocking hidden potentials and classes, which was awesome. They should also fix that clunky menu navigation.
My first experience with the series was on steam. I played it, and thought "Cool, its like anime XCom!" Then I wanted to play the second game and find out 2 and 3 are only for PSP! I have ALL xbox systems, switch and (No Shit) PC. Pisses me off I can't play them. And i am not going to buy a console for two games. Did not know about Revolution though. I need to look into that. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully some day they all go to steam or switch or something and I could get the full Valkyrie experience.
There is an emulator program called "PPSSPP" you can play VC2 and VC3 on your Pc without any problems. All you gotta do is find an ISO, extract it and run it on PPSSPP. Basically type "Valkyria chronicles 2 PPSSPP download" you will find loads of sites, just click on one and do the same thing with vc3 and if you don't like pirating and want to be safe, download a virus protection and if you already have one, go ahead. I know this might be late but hey, it might help you or anyone who sees this.
I still need to play revolution. I want to add it to my collection so badly. I am obsessed with this series. I’m only missing the 3rd game because region locked. But I still love this series to this day
I loved VC4. I Just wish there was more risk in losing characters and more interesting adversaries that I could actually kill. Also more defense type missions. I felt every time I put together a good defense I was forced to move everyone further along.
Good video. I'm going to replay all the games some day, so my opinion could change but as of now, my favorite game would be 3, followed by a tie between 1 and 4, and then 2. I should mention I enjoyed 2, but I just liked the other ones more. I have not played Revolution because I was put off by what others have said about it, but after seeing this video I may consider giving it a chance one day.
The Top 5 Valkyria Games! ALSO the Worst 5 Valkyria Games! Hahaha. Well there are only five games so both ways work. (I like the games and story though i hate fighting those endgame tanks that keeps protecting its weakspot and running away.) Never played the spinoff, no console.
I can't believe it's 2023 and SEGA still hasn't announced anything new for this fantastic series. I wouldn't mind if they took the liberty to explore the same gameplay in alternate universes, maybe something more futuristic or medieval would be really cool.
Last game sold really bad, at least at release date for full price. And one of developers Mediavision have troubles with making games after 2018 (they developed 0 games since 2018), and SEGA GE2 is too small dev team to made a console game by himself. And priorytes for Sega now like always: Sonic, Yakuza and Persona.
@@nr2676 How bad, might I ask? It's hard to find updated sales figures. It did get 1M sales by 2020 though, that isn't half bad. People say it had a bad launch because of the competition but like, VC1 was technically a flopped launch too. Somehow SEGA greenlit the anime anyways and the game skyrocketed in sales (SEGA PR said something like a 4x spike in sales) but, were it not for that, the series could've died there.
I checked SteamDB for both 1 and 4 and it seems 1 had more than double the amount of players at launch for 4, even if 4 has more concurrent players right now. So I guess that's a bad sign.
Launch sales were around 300k copies on all platforms (similar to Star Ocean 6 sales which was also massive flop by Square Enix), Sega expected 1M launch sales like VC1 Steam port (keep atention PC port was for 20$, but VC4 was for 60$). It sold 1M copies but after 1,5 year, after many price drops to 10-20$. I think this is the problem with VC: players clearly see this is very budget title from PS3 era (same graphic, UI and engine from 2008), so they dont want to buy those games for full price for game who looks like expansion for first game (like Octopath Traveler 2 with Octopath Traveler 1, when second game sold much worse than first game). Second problem is platform, game is designed to portable gaming, but Fire Emblem totaly dominate on Switch, and we dont have Playstation handhelds like PSP or PSV, when VC2 & VC3 sold pretty good, especially VC3 in Japan which is best selling game in series in that country (it sold 300k ALONE only in Japan and only on PSP, better than VC4 worldwide at launch on multiplatform). VC4 should be VC2, released on PS3 around 2010-2011, not on PS4 in 2018. They released VC4 seven years too late, and without marketing (+ bad release date).@@Ramash440
Ok, thanks to this video I returned to VC4 after two months of Backlog Cleaning (poke pikachu, odyssey, smash WoL, celeste and no more heroes) and this game is just too good. I beat the first combat against the two lolis, and I didn't realize how to handle them until very late in the battle lol Such a great game, man. I'd put VC4 as the best one so far, just to let people know that the franchise is going strong in terms of gameplay
I played VC 1 and 4. They’re really good games. The story elements and character developments are well done, if a bit… predictable? I mean, if you’ve watched a lot of anime or played a lot of Japanese games, you’ll start seeing patterns, but they’re well delivered. I was especially surprised by how mature VC 4 is. There’s swearing, edgy/sexually suggestive/psychologically disturbing content (like, if your kinda flirtatious buddy is KIA, upon returning to base you get to open her will and she leaves you her engagement ring to be returned to her fiancé) so I wouldn’t let a young kid play, but older teens and adults will probably enjoy it. I’m a huge fan of tactical rpgs, so that I had a lot of fun with the VC ones, but my main gripe is how the best score is always achieved by getting to the objective in the least possible turns, period. So, the trick is not to try and clear the whole map, but to find a way to weasel your way to the finish line-even though it makes no sense story wise (like, you would be leaving your whole squad behind enemy lines, but since your leader is back to base, everyone’s now safe). I get how this type of mission can be fun, and having a few « against the clock » missions can be a useful story device, but if that’s the only way to get the best score (and bonus weapons etc.), then it gets a bit old and unfulfilling. At least for me. Still, I’d recommend trying these games to basically anyone.
Yeah, jackass, I didn't want to spoil the viewers. And yes, I think that's a spoiler because you don't start the game being the "Penal battalion for Gallia".
@@ErickLandonRPG that not really a spoiler, since pretty much every media outlet that have information on the game, tell you that in the story synopsis.
You thought you could just put Minerva in the thumbnail and get me to click on your video!? Well, you're right... On a more serious note, nice list; I may actually give Valkyria Revolution a chance after hearing this take on it.
I'm a little surprised that he put 4 below 1. I enjoyed 4's mission variety and story better than 1's and I really liked the addition of the Grenadier class. Yes, the characters were a bit more tropey, but not by all that much. I'd love to see a VC5, especially if they were to move away from the clunkiness of the menuing between missions. But I don't know if it will ever happen.
In some ways Valkyria Azure Revolution is more fun, less tactical but definitely an enjoyable experience. Still need to play VC 2 and VC 3 holding it off hoping for a remaster with better graphics :D.
In VC3 I liked overpowered items(+50 def/+50dmg) and how shop worked. In VC2 I liked side character stories and classes, VC1 is a masterpiece. VC4 is lacking in new features and feels same, items are 10% buffs at best when in VC2 you could do it for money. It really feels like if it was made first in the series. Its not like I hate it. I just want a new take on the stuff I like(NO DIPLOMA FARMING)
4th is cool, but it wouldn't kill them to bring back some 3rd system back, i would prefer leveling the stats than the class, also interchangeable tank gear ,2nd started this, then 3rd, but 4th take the 1st tank system, also, to be able change your class for whatever character you want is awesome. Hope they remake the 2nd and 3rd with the same engine as 1st and 4th.

I prefer the 4. The missions are really really goods. I love the gameplay, the think fast you have to get in the missions... Hell, that mission when we're under attack in our camp during chapter 6 was really cool. Very difficult. But it was incredibly rewarding. VC1 would be second for me. 4 is a tad better.
Valkryia 1s gameplay kinda gets trumped by all the other ones. I just didnt like how Valkyria one basically just devolves into Alica running and skipping almost all levels as the most efficent way to play.
My order is: 1. VC3 (Best story, best characters and connect all other games except VC4 for obvious reasons). 2. VC4 (A more mature story than VC1 but weak characters). 3. VC1 (Great and very charming story and the 2nd best roster of characters). 4. VC2 (weak story, weak character). Gameplay is really bad and slow on all of them but music is great. Thanks for the video.
I finished 4 and all the DLC, 2 on the PSP and got half way through 1 then got stuck on the mission where you have to crawl through the trenches and take down the monster massive tank, one gun at a time. I've played that mission maybe 30 times and never got past it. When you finally take down the mega tank, your troops are half dead, out of ammo and positioned for the last desperate kill of the tanks turret. You finally kill it... and the map gets invaded with more enemies than I'd ever seen before,. Wave after wave. My poor, tired squad with half them already "retired" the rest injured and out of ammo after the gruelling battle against the mega tank never stand a chance. Once the invasion part comes they normally last one turn maybe. I've watched UA-cam videos of people taking it down and their squads are HUGELY more powerful than mine, Then I realised to get past this mission I need to grind skirmishes over and over and over and over again. And at that point there are only about 4 to play and only one of them gives you a decent amount of XP. In 2 and 4 this issue never came up,. I played on the hardest mode in both games and barely ever had to replay a mission from start to finish.. Pretty much cruised through both games.
I had to let one engineer die for that part. Try to kill half the turrets first before its first cannon shot, and then use a scout to destroy the heat sink. Repeat till all heat sinks are destroyed, position your lancers at the other camps and use them when the massive tank is out of heat sinks. Position your lancers so that they aren't seen by selvaria. Then blast away, bring engineers in case your lancers run out of ammo

I never knew there was a spin-off until now. From what I have seen in the franchise, I think the first Valkyria Chronicles had the best story and animation. The fourth game I think could have been better if there wasn't so much language in it. Otherwise, it would be fine.

Literally playing VC4 1st play through right now, loving it so far!
Just discovered this channel. From the campy opening to the great voice and solid opinions, I think I found a gem. Subbed
Thank you and welcome!
the game after 4 sequels is still kinda broken, in the first entry was Alicia rushing with healing and now in 4 you can do it with 3 characters at the same time lol.
I really love VC4. Even more than 1
Yeah, it's fantastic.
VC1 is only higher on my favorite game tier list and VC4 because of sentimental value.
VC3 has the best plot in the entire series
I strongly agree.
Just finished oml it made me cry
@@aarondichoso6557 Really hammers down just how hidden the Nameless is
I WISH I COULD FUCKING PLAY IT
With how Scout Rushing is such a dominant strategy and how few units are needed to win, the next game might as well be about guerrilla fighters instead of playing as a whole platoon
At least then, calling themselves a "squad" would make more sense
i kinda find it sad that vc 2 is last i really enjoyed that we had more classes and more personality with every character not only having their own mission but also having their own story line you can interact with on the campus
@@rayqonza8084 should I finish it? I liked it but it’s way Grindy.I’m in March.would you put where in your list
I want remasters and new ports for Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 first dammit. 5 Can really wait
VC3 needs an expansion, the Game is a Masterpiece and it just needs more Big maps in the post game and thats all...if they want to add more dlc character i would be more happy...
My top 5
1. VC4 (Loved the story and characters. Even the Stereotypes are done really well for a fun factor).
2. VC1 (Great Origins and Nostalgia factor)
3. VC3 (Amazing concept but limited hardware)
4. VC2 ( Super Limited but full of charm)
5. VC Revolution (Not as bad as others say but could have done better).
The 3rd one has best intro.
VC3 have the Best maps, Best dlc maps and everybody can change classes...
Valkyrie Chronicles 4 on the switch is my first Valkyrie, it’s great! Great video
My tier:
1- Valkyria Chronicles 3
2- Valkyria Chronicles 4
3- Valkyria Chronicles
4- Valkyria Chronicles 2
5- Valkyria Azure Revolution
Just play the English patch version of it man it's good, but goddamnit i hate Clarissa so much that i stopped playing the game because of it🗿
I had no idea there was a Japanese only PSP release.
1. Grind a lot (certifications for better classes)
First play VC 1, then play VC 4, go back to VC 1, "why VC 1 so grinding!?"
Mine was:
1. VC3
2. VC1
3. VC4
4. VC2
I have yet to play Revolution, but this video makes me want to try it out. Maybe it might top VC1 for me.
Just keep in mind it's completely different from the Chronicles series.
For the people who don't know how to play VC2 And VC3 on PC, You can download their ISOs online and use PPSSPP emulator to play with them.
1. Valkyria chronicles 1
2. Valkyria chronicles 4
3. Valkyria chronicles 3
4. Valkyria chronicles 2
Love this series to death and I hope we get a 5th game. Even a remaster for Valkyria 3 would be awesome.
Haven't tried 4 yet but 4's better than 3?
Playing VC2 on my Vita now and allready instandly loving it!!
I love those games. Valkyria Chronicles is life.
Emulator
Great content and ergo proxy poster on the wall 👍
Love the channel mate.
This series needs some heavy hitting advertising cuz its awesome
My list
1. VC 3
2. VC 1 ties with VC 4
3. VC 2
4. Revolution
mostly agree, but the new class, grenadier are not so balanced (first patch),
and the enemies/events always 'pop up' in the middle unexpectedly, and i have to save, load to get S rank.
How is the combat in valkyria revolution other than difficulty wise?? I did wanna give it a go but wasn’t sure on that aspect
Some boss battles can be very long and hard, depending on the difficulty mode you choose. Look, do yourself a favor and don't play it on easy ;)
I would love to see a official VC3 western release. Though we're more likely to see a VC5 announcement, which I'd be very happy with.
Even thought I bought it on day one, I couldn't get into VC2--mainly because your squad had to be so small. Might go back and give it a try.
Maybe my head is broken, but i like VC2 more, then VC1 & VC4. But VC3 - is the best for me.
That job system made a big difference.

5- VC2
4- VR
3- VC4
2- VC3
1- VC1
Why do you put VC2 low in your list,Just wanted to know your reason
@@Saifullah-nj9mz imo there is no fucus point like the other games, VC2 was a mess.
but the music was the same 👍.
What's the song you use in your intro? I love it.

You got just 1 out of 5. lol
The 4th was close to my no.1 spot but felt like it was a step back not forward form the class system set up by part 3.
@sohit singh You did not read the whole comment...
Where did you get the English version for VC3?
That was a long time ago. Just Google it.
I still need to play revolution. I want to add it to my collection so badly. I am obsessed with this series. I’m only missing the 3rd game because region locked. But I still love this series to this day
There was 7th saga in his intro. What a fucking legend!!!
I loved VC4. I Just wish there was more risk in losing characters and more interesting adversaries that I could actually kill. Also more defense type missions. I felt every time I put together a good defense I was forced to move everyone further along.
Valkyria Chronicles 1 is of course the best game and Alicia is so overpowered I love it
Unicorn Supremacy and order is overpowered as well
All hail the Valkyrie
@André Durán you also have her in vc 2 later on.
Vc3 is better story wise.
3 is the best I prefer acctually trying to use strategy over having one girl run past anime nazis for 8 hours.
I read somewhere that VC4 didn't sell well, I really hope that's not true and the franchise doesn't get canned again.
Well, it sold less than Persona 5
I've only had the pleasure of playing the original but LOVE IT!

Never played the spinoff, no console.
Valkyria chronicles 2 isn't really standalone, but you can watch the anime which revolves around VC 1 so you'll be all caught up
what game on 0:32?
I beat the first combat against the two lolis, and I didn't realize how to handle them until very late in the battle lol
Such a great game, man. I'd put VC4 as the best one so far, just to let people know that the franchise is going strong in terms of gameplay
Thanks for doing this. Appreciate the hard work. Going to play Valkyria Revolution after am done with Ni No kuni II Revenant Kingdom

I remember VC2 coming to PSP instead of PS3 teenage me was so confused.
You may know or would like to know that Project X Zone series has Valkyria Chronicles characters and it's a tactical rpg
I did know that. I played VC3 because of that game.
I don't care what other people said but I think valkyria 2 really fun with so many class compare to other valkyria
All are great games.
4:20 What? In VC3 you are playing as a penal battalion for Gallia, not Federation mercenaries.
0:29 what game is that?
It looks like a 'Tales of' game but I'm not sure which exactly.

You have a bad taste then. 4st story and characters are immature pricks
Story and characters: VC3 > VC1 > VC4 > VC2

In some ways Valkyria Azure Revolution is more fun, less tactical but definitely an enjoyable experience.
Still need to play VC 2 and VC 3 holding it off hoping for a remaster with better graphics :D.
the good old days when we had time stamps.
Agree a 100% with this list!
Wasn't the stereotyping in the first Valkyria Chronicles the worst of all? There was a lot of it with the Darcsen business.
Ive played all VC and I must say, how love I love VC1, its VC 4 top for me and the best, maybe because of lovely Riley Miller ^^
Can I ask, Should I play them in order ? or it dosn't matter
It doesn't matter.

God I wish they'd make more of this series. And advance the story.
Para mí esta saga es el pináculo de los juegos de estrategia por turnos en cuanto a gameplay y no se por qué hay tan pocos juegos así.
Es algo que pienso responder en el vídeo de mañana :D
@@ErickLandonRPG Genial :)
just got these games digitally and want to get the physical copies after beating them all.
hell excited 😁
I prefer the 4. The missions are really really goods. I love the gameplay, the think fast you have to get in the missions...
Hell, that mission when we're under attack in our camp during chapter 6 was really cool. Very difficult. But it was incredibly rewarding.
VC1 would be second for me. 4 is a tad better.
Valkryia 1s gameplay kinda gets trumped by all the other ones. I just didnt like how Valkyria one basically just devolves into Alica running and skipping almost all levels as the most efficent way to play.
My order is:
Hey I seriously want to play Valkyria chronicles 4 I have both a psp and ps vita but I'm not the most tech/patch savvy guy I'm from the UK could anyone help me find a way to play please ?
Any help is widely appreciated :)
just buy it
@@richadoruisuthegod3674 I would if I had access it was only released in Japan and people have emulated an English patch so I don't know what to do
@@mrwik8799 my bad I thought you were talking about valkyria chronicles 4 not 3
I never knew there was a spin-off until now. From what I have seen in the franchise, I think the first Valkyria Chronicles had the best story and animation. The fourth game I think could have been better if there wasn't so much language in it. Otherwise, it would be fine.
Who's that as the thumbnail?
Minerva from Valkyria Chronicles 4
Nice list. We need Valkyria 3 for Ps4, Xbox One and Pc. I remember their characters from Project X Zone 1
Let's not forget "DUEL".
Too bad you can't download it anymore.
If someone know where to download it, please share.
Thanks.
I really enjoyed your content. All I play is RPGs . Salute!
