*Head 2 Head: Fruit Merge vs Juicy Merge Walk-through/ Review (Which Do You Prefer?)

Once again, I have stumbled upon similar games rising to popularity right now. I know I have played another fruit merging game called Watermelon merge, so I'm familiar with the addictive and fun nature these types of games offer. The two that went head 2 head in this video are Fruit Merge and Juicy Merge! While the video walk you through what gaming would be like for both, I would like to add a few thoughts that I gathered while playing them.
In concept, both games are the same. You have to drop the available fruit, ranging in size and types to make matches in the box/bin. Each match creates another fruit that is a little bit larger. This continues on until you have made it to the biggest one, and so far, it's only been watermelons for me. Is there even anything bigger than watermelons? The play doesn't stop there, however. You get to make as many merges as there is space for it. These are "highest score" type games, although Juicy Merge does offer a side game where you race another person to reach a certain number of points faster. I didn't include this in the video, as it was getting way longer than I wanted it to be.
Each game has fun, bright colors and inviting graphics. I personally enjoyed looking at one over the other, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. From the looks came the gameplay itself. When playing Fruit Merge, things went as expected. I was able to play this one offline, but because Juicy Merge has to be played online, I kept it on for both. The only ad break that appeared was one telling me it's tea time. They were generous with giving me a countdown for when to expect it, as well as using it as a friendly reminder to take a break. These games can have you sitting and staring at your screen for quite some time, depending on how invested you become.
Now, with Juicy Merge. While I appreciate where they took a game like this, with adding in levels. I did not enjoy the fact that at each new level, an ad break came. I wanted to get into my groove, but there were many ads that I had to navigate through as well. It slowed things down a lot for me, and this is what made the video much longer than expected. It also caused me to end the recording at level 20. With these games, you never really know how long they can go, so I did us all a favor and ended things at a decent point. Overall, it's always amazing to see how different minds can take the same concept and end up giving us similar but different games at the same time.
I personally wouldn't have a need for two of the same games in my lineup, but I can see me liking a concept well enough to switch between the styles when one gets played out.
