- The last day with Nellum.
Still my favorite places to eat, Hela Bojun. Government owned places, that give a clean and safe place for women to run a little space and be able to make all the profit. The food is cheap, delicious, and 100% pure Sri Lankan.
Next up we went to an old village that was so much fun to walk around and explore.
Then we had some really nice curry rice at Nellum Kole for dishes tthat are really hard to find unless at a home or in a village.
Taking a break we headed to Nellum’s house to get a little tea time snack. She really outdid herself though as she made constructed a huge tea time snack. With various things from cookies, cakes, sandwiches, and more. I snacked a little too much.
Now, back to my first video where we went to Pilawoos. I had one of the greatest things ever, Kottu. I loved it so much. Sauce, high heat, cheese, and just lots of roti!! Not to forget the massive amount they give you for a serving.

OMG that coconut and sugar filling in that pancake looks so wonderful but that coconut and rice dumpling thing with that filling looks so yum! Sri Lankan food looks fantastic.

@@hassanmusa6375 Our filling is 'Pani pol' in english it means 'Honeyed coconut'
It's not a dumpling actually cause not steamed. 1st Milk rice is cooked and as soon as it set spread small potions of layer on flexible leafs (different leafs use in different areas, mostly use lotus leaf or leaf call 'thal' ) and put honeyed coconut in middle and roll and tie the both end with of leaf like a toffee 🍬 . When it cool down you get that milk rice. We call it 'Imbul kiri bath'
Anyone who visits Srilanka must try Kottu. I would highly recommend it to anyone without any hesitation

If we say them burger is not yours,it's ingredients come from other countries, I think it sounds stupid. You also sounds stupid to say kottu is not ours. I know kottu is not the healthiest option. And it doesn't have to be. It is goddamn tasty.

Everything is cheapest in srilanka comparing any other country. Bottle water 5L can buy under 1$. Within 10$ can go all around the island by public transport. Single rooms can book under 10$. Pretty much comfortable rooms with air conditioning. street food pretty much good.

Hi, just wanted to say, i see so many encouraging comments about sri lanka here and it's so nice to see so much love for my lil mango country, for the culture, the food etc. Honestly idt I've seen so much love, all in one place as well; it's overwhelming in the best way possible. I love this video for what it highlights about our cuisine so thank you so much for this. If anyone ever visits sri lanka, u have to try the fruit: rambutan, mangosteen, woodapple, coconut (drink the water and scrape the white pulp n eat it's so good), jackfruit, papaya, mango, avocado (so creamy and big) come to mind. You will never go wrong with the fruit u have there, they're so fresh, juicy, and flavourful, just great things to try that everyone will love im sure! Ty again🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰💞

Usually coconut milk is not use for this cheese kottu.they used cow milk. Coconut milk use for curry.

Hela Boujun eating complexes are super cheap and offer a great variety of local food, mostly vegetarian. You are also directly helping the local community ladies to earn a decent income.

Health care is cheapest in the world in srilanka. Government hospitals are totally free for foreigners. Private healcare also reasonable prices. speacialist doctor channeling cost under 10$. Medicine is also low cost.

yes, Sri Lanka has many types of sambal. The coconut one in this video is much like the "ganja sambal" in Ipoh.
