Hi, can't confirm the ipx rating with you at the moment but I have exercised with this headset quite a bit for few months and it's doing just fine (and I sweat quite a lot), only recently noticed the inside bit has a bit of a mark but in general I don't have any issues when exercising with it.
Yes I have tried with both an android and iPhone and it works with both, can't fully confirm ipad as I haven't tried but it works with iPhone so should also work with ipad

Totally understand and yes this definitely lasts, if it helps understanding the durability, I had this for about 7 months and It's still perfectly fine, I've used it for a lot of stuff and no issues so far.
for the price yes it's good for me honestly. but the quality compare to the premium ones is just not good. the bass is way off. and noise cancelation pretty much nothing

Haven't tried Rockspace o2 but I'd go with TH10 as it's a safe option, it's cheaper in most places and does a good job

The mic isn't really on the headphones, I think it uses mic on the phone when you use to call etc..
