Same. Whenever I see young or beginning artists go on about “how do I find my style” it irks me. Finding a style won’t make one magically improve. They should just be focusing on the fundamentals and improving, and in time their style will come.
@@yorutsumetai It's refreshing to read this thread! I wasn't interested in an art "style" untill about 3years ago when I went to a kids comic con. After a few months I started thinking of storys I want to flesh out and publish one day. Since then I've been struggling with trying to rush and create different styles, but I know I have to be patient and it'll come naturally. Recently I've been struggling with that again, and then I see this video. Perfect timing 😅💜💜💜
QueenSahara Ice I recently watched a video that explained that everyone has a “style” by definition and what people probably mean is why isn’t theirs like so-and-sos. Which it will never be. If one wants to make a living off of art then likely it’s best to have a style that’s pleasing to the eye. I just don’t believe it should be a concern for young/beginning artists. I believe it happens naturally with time, inspiration and practice. Personally, it took me about 6-8 years to actually “like” my own style and find it suitable, so I do understand the struggle.
I so often forget that you’re a small youtuber and have less than 10k subs because you just seem like the kind of person to be super popular and well-known! I hope more people discover you this year, your art and videos deserve to be shared with everyone
thank you so so much!!! I know in terms of numbers, my subscriber count is small compared to others, but I would be grateful even if I stayed where I am 😖💕💖💕💖 thank you for the kind wishes!! 💖💖💖💖
My cats named Wolverine and he's the same as Azlan (probably butchered that) in the sense that he's big and chonky too. He always jumps up on my desk and sits on my sketchbook. Love your art btw
btw I'm just amazed by your devotion to UA-cam and you totally deserve the growth of your channel! at the moment your one of my favorite UA-camrs. keep up the great work!
@@tirameowsu omg yes please! i'll keep checking my notification then hehe. someone needs to said something about it, because most beginner artists just focusing about how they achieve certain style rather than just make a progress on their art
I'm so glad you mentioned emily artful! I feel like she's underappreciated but she's my one of my favorite youtubers and SUCH a good and fresh art youtuber
thank you so much!! 💕💖💕💖 the way I "practice" art is just by continuing to draw! I don't do a lot of reference studies or anything like that anymore -- so most of the practice and improvement that I see within my art is solely from drawing more and more. I think it is important to practice with certain elements such as anatomy or structure individually, by focusing on references and paying attention to natural forms, but probably 99% of my own artistic growth had been from having fun drawing!
I actually have never tried the artist series myself!! I've seen their sketchbooks at Michaels before but I don't think I even acknowledged that there's a difference between those and the XL, aside from the hardcover 😂
Long videos are fun! I really love your portrait in this one. And your cat looks like the softest fluffiest boy, and even though I have a slight cat allergy all I wanna do is rub my face on him and tell him he’s great XD I may sneeze for an hour after, but it’d be totally worth it!
What metalics are you using? Ive seen a lot of artists using them and they look better than what ive seen in stores. Would u recommend them (worth the price)?
these are the kuretake gansai tambi starry nights watercolors! I really enjoy them, as you can get either a thin layer of metallic or an opaque coat. I don't recall exactly how much the set costed but I think I got mine for ~$10 USD at hobby lobby using a coupon. very worth it for the price! I've used them a lot and have only recently seen the bottom on a single pan 😊
Beautiful piece & nice learning a little about you! This is actually my first time watching you, thanks to UA-cam's recommendation. Honestly, I clicked because of your channel name 😂But now I'm subbing & gonna watch more of your videos! Happy New Year!
I at first thought you were Kattvalk because of the art style and colors used, but then I head the voice. But still, looks a lot like kattvalk (not accusing of art theft or anything just genuinely surprised)
i’m not trying to start a fight or anything, i think your art is lovely and all- i love your kitty too uwu but it’s a little rude to call being a full time youtuber as an ‘unstable’ job. you know? most people who do it enjoy it too and are passionate about it a lot and i understand why. i think doing what they love for a living is really great so it’s kind of insulting to call it unstable? that’s really all, other than that, i like your art ^^
but ... UA-cam full time is absolutely an unstable job? its completely dependant on a platform that, as a content creator, we have little to no say over. if UA-cam shut down, all of the people who use UA-cam as a main source of income would be absolutely screwed. they would not be able to pay their bills. I don't see how saying that is rude -- its just the truth, and I'm sure anyone who does UA-cam as a job is completely aware of that. I'm not trying to come off as hostile or angry, so I hope you don't take it that way, but I don't see how saying UA-cam is an unstable job is rude at all. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with doing UA-cam fulltime -- just that it isn't a stable form of income.
I feel the same way about art styles. They are so toxic to artists. I’m really glad someone else feels the same way
its a very inhibiting concept!! I'm glad there are others who feel the same.

The canson artist series mix media sketchbook is a lot nicer quality than the canson xl in my opinion especially with it having the hard bound cover !

What are your favorite/recommended brushes for water color and gouache?
Princeton's Velvetouch line is my absolute favorite for watercolors and gouache!!
I don't think any of us would mind a full speedrawing video of you drawing/painting aslan and talking about him only.

What is the brand of the watercolor? The first one. (Btw the art looks rlly nice :) )
a mix of Daniel Smith and M Graham watercolors. and thank you!! 💖💖
@@tirameowsu oh ok thanks :)
Can u do a video on how you use copics?
I have some speed paints on my channel of using copics, but I don't think I'll ever do a more tutorial-type video where I go over my process 😖

So you sell any stickers?
I have a very small selection of art on my redbubble, but aside from that, I don't currently have an online store of my own
Your art is soo nice! Also yeah, healthcare in the USA is ridiculous. It’s one of the reasons I’d like to move to Canada
