Gandalf staff doesn’t have a straight symmetrical design. It has uneven shape and surface details that are impossible to be reproduced using simple measurements.. it can only be done using mould from original movie prop or replica.. staff of Gandalf the grey cannot be done but Gandalf the white is possible

I made Saruman’s staff myself and used only wood and a metal orb. I really like the look of your orb though, pearly white makes it so much better!

For a protective cap. Try putting on a rubber foot from a cane so the floor doesn't get ruined and the staff absobes the impact better

Can you make a Starlord mask
What I do for dark metallics is I use just the tiniest bit of Rub'n'Buff silver leaf on an ordinary house brush and I do quick random strokes, like I'm dusting the piece off. Comes out great
Like, the TEEENIEST LITTLE BIT.
I have not played with Rub n Buff much, but yea... I noticed you only need incredibly tiny amounts of it!

You make great props man, detailed, user and budget friendly, but I’m curious about some thing sometimes, like when you work with wood like in this build, why you don’t sand, prime, then sand again before paint? Yeah, it’s a couple extra steps but it would really add a level of polish. Great work though on all your builds!

Could you please do star lord's helmet/mask sometime? As that I've seen, there aren't a whole lot of easy, cheap, and detailed tutorials, like yours all are. Also, if you could do star lord's blasters, that would be awesome, as I've only seen repaints of the nerf version, 3d prints, or full on castings of the blaster. Also, I'm currently using your combat ready lightsaber tutorial with a toy soundboard, and I's coming out great!

That is great, but I think it is a clear orb that has been frosted with an occasional clear streak across it
It is a clear orb, or at least translucent. I was looking for something safe that would not shatter if dropped. And cheap.
A) I didn't know that those mini-fins were small fins I thought it was a weird weld joint type thing or a design choice so it is great to know that those are fins
B) I am just planning on (if necessary) heating up a cheap plastic spherical Christmas ornament to make it more egg shaped and then casting in it with clear casting epoxy, but that would be more expensive.
C) Since you seem to have seen the actual props do you know if the orb is for sure egg shaped or is it spherical, I did a (admittedly bad) attempt a while back and mine just used a sphere which at some points look oval shaped and this seems to be like the prop sometimes looking egg shaped and other times spherical
I have not actually seen this prop in person, but I found some good pics and rewatched the scene when Saruman is on top of the tower in the daylight (when he falls in RotK if I remember right), I could see more detail in the bright sunlight.
Also, it looks to be a large stone or gem to me, like a giant opal. Not really an egg shape, but it did not look like a true sphere to me. It's your prop, make it they way you like it. I could be wrong!
With Easter coming up (here in the US anyway) plastic eggs will be abundant at dollar stores. They may be easier to work with that than a Christmas ornament.
Or, what about filling a balloon with epoxy to get an organic shape? Epoxy resin shouldn't pop the balloon, and once it really heats up, it's setting anyway. if the balloon pops then, who cares? Once the resin cools, clean the balloon off, sand the resin smooth and re-coat with epoxy to make it clear again. If you try this, wear gloves and do it on a flat cardboard box, the chances of it making a mess is high! I have not tried this, I just thought about it now.
Don't use a tiny water balloon, you don't want that pressure on the resin, just a normal party ballon only filled to the size you want.
To fill the balloon, you could cut the bottom off of a two liter soda bottle, then fit the balloon over the neck, so the open end of the balloon is around the threads at the top, and hang the balloon inside the bottle. Some off brands have a larger opening. It should hold up the balloon while the resin sets, and keep a smooth organic shape.
Those are great ideas, and should resolve the issue of the bump on the bottom of the ornament as well as creating a round shape at the neck. Are you sure that those are small fins or are they a bulging outward of the seam area, when I had done mine I had used clay to build it up as if the stick part of the staff came back but then died off again
