Still don’t understand how you get so many engines with tick/lifters. At this point am convinced people are not taking care of their cars. I bought a 2012 dodge charger with 105k miles sold it a couple years later with 164k miles on it With no tick. Good job as always thou
You are an amazing mechanic. What amazes me that people don’t maintain their cars and wonder why the repair bill is high. Oil is cheap engines are not. Change your fluids and not at 10k mile intervals do minimum 5k period.

I just did the two exhaust cam phasers on my wife's 2011 VW Routan that the locking pin wore a ramp right up the hole in the back sprocket plate i could make it ride up out of the locking hole just by turning it by hand After new phasers no more rattling on startup no camshaft sensor codes and traction control light that would put the van in limp mode Thanks for your pentastar vids that put me on the right track 😁
Thank you for the content you share. I have a 17 Terraine and 13 Chrysler 200 both with the 2.4 engines. My wife and I both like the cars we have. Your videos have given me reason to regularly check coolant and oil levels. Thank you
Yes! Thanks Sir and Ma’am - for your honesty and sincerity! I like seeing the engine close ups- and you let us see - and not just describe. A pic is worth a thousand words. Also, Sir, you mention older Hyundai/Kia is a never ending financial journey - how about the newer Hyundais? I rented a 2023 Tucson- and it was nice. Plus Consumer Reports rates this as a very reliable SUV.
Alex I can't tell you how many people happy I fix there cars but when I fix it too fast they want to negotiate price I tell them time again I've been working on cars over 20 years and that's why I diagnose and fix problems fast because most the time I've already changed there parts 10or 15 times so I got it down to a science
Got a regular Dodge Durango 2015 sxt man i had so many problems with the lifters and rockers and thermostat issues im getting rid of this SMH, nice car alot of problems
Hi Alex I love your videos. I have a patient in my college automotive technology shop that is the same model 2008 Honda Civic LX as in this video and we have been trying to solve this high idle problem on the car for some time now. It started at a 1500 RPM idle and so we thoroughly cleaned out the throttle body, we smoke tested the intake and discovered a leak between the throttle body and the intake manifold and we replaced a missing gasket however the car still has a high idle at around 1100 RPM (should be like 750-800) and the car sometimes hesitates. We smoked tested the brake booster just to be sure but it appears to be working properly and I cannot find any other vacuum leaks or obvious problems. I was just wondering if you had experienced anything symptoms like this on any 8th Gen Honda Civic before?
@@orinmangar2333 Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this car model doesn't have a IAC it is all electronically controlled by the PCM. We originally cleaned the throttle body because of the high idle and did the idle relearn procedure but the car was still running with a high idle (P0507). We did a smoke test and discovered the car was missing the Throttle Body Gasket, we put in a new one but still are getting idle higher than expected code. 😞
Get a welder and a. Auto dim mask pal plus 2 or 3 times a year welding no sleeves it does catch up brother plus the risk of scan cancer not worth the risk m8
I have a auto dim hamlet, I didn’t feel like finding it that day. I don’t weld often maybe about 5 to 10 times out the year so I can’t justify buying good equipment. Thanks for watching and your concern
So brother did a radiator flush and forgot to put the radiator cap back on, overheated on me and stalled now it won't start back up had to have it towed. is the engine toast? And it was leaking oil when I got it off the highway
*I always maintain my vehicles and they always treat me well.*

It’s so cool you give the techs a chance to give their own diagnosis and let them grow!
I agree with radiator cap, my niece blew out my Honda Crv because it was gone over heated and she kept driving

My 13 grand caravan has 580k miles original engine. Mostly highway, I'm a courier.
Use good oil every 5k. Occasionally use a can of BG .

That's why I got out of auto repair 30 yrs. ago. Some customers are "special"

Another awesome video
I wanted to run my own auto shop at one time, but realized deep down I would be waay better at running a scrap yard
That’s what I like about this industry. It’s so many paths you can take. My wife and I plan on opening a scrap yard as well at one point too.
Hope your technician keeps his dreads out of the engine bay.... that could be bad if they get caught into moving parts
The amount of shit I get a shop about this 🤣 ik its them looking out but dam man ik what a hair tie is I’ll put it in when I’m working 👨🏾🔧
Keep these vids coming 👏
How was the Civic's fuel pump diagnosed to be bad? The integral fuel filter was mentioned as having a issue, but what were the symptoms?
Could the "separated" muffler had been an attemptrd catalytic converter theft? Theif realized it was only a muffler.
That was my thoughts exactly! That was a clean cut from a tool!
Alex, the customer is not paying for what you do, they are paying for what you know
Facts 💯

Check the IAC-idle air control valve on the throttle body.

Maybe exhaust leak o2 sensor maf sensor could be a lot of things
@@demetriuscaldwell6010 The owner of the car is getting a brand new throttle body.

Hello your amazing

Let's see that G body over there!!!
Question i only drive old jalopy the newest vehicle i own is a 1999 did cars tick before the pentastar v6 ?
Somebody realized that wasn't the catalytic converter before they finished the job at least on the first car.😉😁
that is what it looks like, not rusty at all
Chrysler Dodge should be held liable for these cam and lifter failures.
Where is your sleeve?
Pena ⭐️ 👮♂️ 😂 u got to start saying that more 😂
👍👍👏👏
Speed bump
First client needs another car. Or a new engine
😮 battery 🔒
I wouldn’t touch it. That car is gonna be a liability
I understand she’s your wife. But why does she say we when it’s you doing the work
She handles the paper work side of things and keeps me on track lol
