realy wish Murphys didn't change the design on their can, the blue thing they have now doesn't look as classy as the white and black one in the video! but hey, it's the liquid inside that counts!
I reckon if you had the Murphy's last you would of gotten it. Because you drank so much of them the palate wouldn't be able to distinguish one for the other.

I've done this and been honest with myself. I can tell them apart. It's easy to single out Guinness on lack of flavour and watery mouth feel. Murphy's is slightly sweeter, Beamish is rich and bold - a true stout drinkers stout.

Guinness really isn't great (especially from a draught can... honestly it's like water). Beamish and Murphy's are slightly similar, but are very different from Guinness. I regularly drink all 3, for variety. Beamish is rich, bold and smooth. Murphy's is slightly sweeter but still has some nice coffee and roasted tones. Guinness by comparison is a watery flavourless drink. I could see why you dismissed it as Beamish immediately, and assumed it couldn't be Guinness it was so poor. In fact, I drink all 3 when in pubs, but wouldn't touch Guinness from a draught can, it's so disappointing. I'm not surprised you got it wrong, it's nothing like the real thing.
