  • Australian baritone, John Lidgerwood is one of Australia's most experienced singers. He has appeared in Opera, Operetta, the Concert Hall and Television in Australia, the UK and Europe. Born in Melbourne, he studied voice with the legendary Italian baritone, Afro Poli. Following his acclaimed Freddy Eynsford-Hill in the J.C. Williamson revival of MY FAIR LADY, he played the role in London's West End - along with starring in a production of Cole Porter's KISS ME, KATE. He returned to Australia in 1975 and has remained one of Australia's finest Leading Men on stage, television and recordings. He is heard here in Renato's Act III aria from Giuseppe Verdi's opera UN BALLO IN MASCHERA - performed in English translation on a television appearance in 1968.
