My family on both sides has lost land due to taxes. Land tax is one of the most evil systems ever created. It’s designed to make sure you never truly own your property. It will belong to the government forever. They’re just renting it to you.

I agree Danny. We lost half the value of my mothers' home because my sister panicked when mom couldn't pay the taxes. My brother did for a few years. There was no inheritance from my parents for all the money and work we kids put into it. They never consulted the rest of the siblings. The person who bought it swindled my mother because she had a compassionate heart and they manipulated her faith/church affiliation as well. The situation was a wealthy couple going thru divorce and I warned mom not to get involved with a situation like that. Our land is all we have of value, and it is usually our home. Where can a family go to survive if we lose it? Be wary of anybody who wants your land and do everything to protect it. Thank you Danny for this pertinent warning.

I live in middle of farm land. And all the farm land being family farms. Now I see the farms for sale all over the area. The farmers are now elderly or have died. A massive area around me has been leased to a solar farm. But people have raised up over this. So far the solar farms have been put on hold. Pray that the plans will be stopped permanently

It's interesting to hear this. I am 40 and bought my farm 3 years ago (I was raised on a farm my whole life). I have been growing our own food, gotten rabbits and chickens. My grandparents who are 75-80 were incredibly angry when we did this. They said we moved to the country to live like hillbillies and eat twigs and berries..... They also own a 1000 acre farm that they don't "farm", they rent it to others to farm. So not all older generations are "in touch". Our grandparents actually think we are going to be destitute because we moved out of the city. It's crushing that they don't support our choice. They tell us all the time how sorry they feel for our son that he is raised in the country. Only trash live in the country is what they tell us.

    • @Soundthenew22
      @Soundthenew22 Рік тому +17

Wow, glad you got out of the city! Sounds like you made the right choice for you and your . Sad that the grandparents don’t see it the same way. I have to ask though…how can they say the country is trash when it’s full of life, cleaner air and clear water, and the city to me always seems so dirty and full of garbage?

@Soundthenew22 grandmother was raised on this 1000 acres and she was raised very, very poor. She felt a lot of shame growing up and it really shaped her way of thinking. Grandfather swept her off her feet and she said she never wanted to live in the country again. He built her a house in town and that is where they remain. The 1000 acre farm was purchased from my grandmother's family probably 50 or more years ago. Mostly used for hunting now. Basically my grandmother being bullied so much for being poor is why they hate us living in the country so much. It makes them look bad, like WE are poor.

I have the same dumbed down 84 year old parents. They have watched the tell a vision for so long that they actually think they are the people they watch. They actually feel a deep kinship with people who look like anchormen and women. My mother makes little snide remarks about my "little farm" and always talks about how much work it is to can and grow your own food ( even though I learned it from her ) when you can just go to the store and buy it. I've learned that I have little in common with my own parents.

I am canning my food and being mindful concerning food waste. I am also paying property taxes and foregoing purchasing a car. I am being mindful of seed collection too from the garden produce that I grow. And, families are not taking care of oneanother and complaining about high rents. My parents own 7 acres of land in western Tennessee that has been laying dormant since my grandfather passed away in the late 80's. I have thought about selling it once my parents move on to Heaven, but over the past year or so I've decided that I'm moving to the seven acres once I am at a point to do so. I plan to hand whatever I build down to my children at some point. My wife is totally on board to, and we plan to grow a large garden with some chickens and other small livestock. So true Danny. Farm land around me being sold for subdivision. Hay fields, gone. . It makes me sick,. It's all about the money anymore for what's being sold here after the elders pass on. Have 2 big hay fields below us fixing to be sold hubby is 69 & I'm on disability from 4 back surgeries. He had to retire early because of a car wreck and as bad as we hate to admit it our bodies are breaking down and can't do what it used to. We don't supply the world
like the Midwest but with each piece of property being sold & as many, subs, apartments or storage units ( of all things) it makes me literally sick. We don't have the money to buy more land because I would buy it, I know the Bible says not to worry but I can't help it over my kids, grandkids. Too bad we can't turn the hands of time back & know the things I know now I would do many things differently
God is coming back soon my one hope. I'm not satisfied here & after land that was sold behind my parents house to put in a 4 lane my momma was not happy living there anymore I understand so deeply now how she felt Even so Lord God come quickly.

First I completely agree that our land should not be sold to non US citizens, for many reason. With that being said the US currently imports 60% of its fruit and 40% of it's vegetables. I live in the Midwest - all they "farm" here is corn, soybean and wheat -its used to make all manner of products that are terrible for us and the environment. And it's all Big Agri-Land - there may be a handful of generational family "farms' left. There is so little produce farming in this country and what there is is all mono culture gmo pesticide laden crap. Between weather changes and gov't induced supply chain issues you better learn to grow your food for your own survival.

Sadly I never knew what it was like to be a farmer because my parents were in the city, therefore that is where I grew up and married. Now, in my 60's I realize how important farming and the old ways really are.
My son is an outdoor person by nature. He would have been a natural for passing that down to. All we can do now is do our best to learn skills and pass them on to his daughter.

This is my son. He is 15 and wants to move to a big city, and own a clothing company and be rich. His words. He always mocks me and my husband, his father, that we just bought 10 acres, and we are wanting to get a cow and chickens to be self sufficient. We want to learn the skills of the farmer and the rancher. We would love to own more land in the future but we sold our house to get out debt and buy this. I went from a basic nice home to living in a 1980s single wide mobile home w all 4 of us and our dog. We gave up everything society says is meaningful for what we know is meaningful.

My great grandparents worked so hard. Big farm 1000’s of acres of land. It was amazing. They did this to hand down from generation to generation. They had 5 children. They left most of it to the only son, but all got land. But none wanted to work the land. They wanted the almighty dollar. One of the my grandmother hung on to hers. 2 fish ponds, timber, beautiful. My mother sold it. I begged her not to sell. Now it’s all gone. And nothing to show for it. I remember picking beans, taking butter beans to our neighbor the sheller. I remember my mama canning. I also remembered being shewed away when I asked to help. I wanted to learn. They did not teach my generation. Now it’s all gone with the wind.

We live on the Panhandle of Florida and they are trying to change my town into a urban/suburban city it has alot of agriculture right now. So our 40 acres we are turning into a farm is projected to be rezoned to mixed. I plan to fight that the whole way. No notification of any kind was given about what they plan to do other than posting in the local paper and who reads the newspaper now? Thankfully a few people found out and created a Facebook group to get the word out. The planning meetings were set at times when most are working so they fought that and got that changed and how the meeting notifications are sent out. We plan on never selling and turning this into a generational property.

Hey Danny, I have the same concerns as you do as far as governents worldwide. When we read the story of how Satan tempted Jesus after His baptism, he offered Him all the kingdoms of the earth for one act of worship. Thankfully Jesus refused. But more important is the fact that Satan exersized control over these kingdoms, just like he does in our day. People use to sing "He's got the whole world in his hand", little did we know who we were really singing about. Much love to you and Wanda. Just a little bit of spiritual food to gnaw on.

Heritage. So fascinating, Danny. I’m listening to “Bible in a Year” which is exposing me to the Old Testament. It is IMPOSSIBLE to ignore the OT message of owning land, growing your own food, and holding land as an Inheritance. Such wisdom! I am now living in a region where land titles were from the king of England and families HELD these properties to the present. Sadly, developers are buying up the properties. Development is forcing Imminent Domain over farmers who do NOT want to sell. Very sad. 😢 And yes, I’ve seen those stats on aging farmers. Keep spreading the word, Sir!

I am 75 ( female) and can’t do some things that are heavy. You can’t even find a high school kid that is willing to help and earn a little money. Back in the day, we jumped at the chance to earn a few dollars. Our parents sure didn’t give it to us because they didn’t have it ; mama stayed home and daddy worked. I would not have traded my childhood for 5 billion dollars. Kids today are missing so much of “ life”.

Amen Mr Danny! I commented on yesterdays video about how we are adding to what we grow and using every space possible and how we want a farm when God sees fit. We are similar to you and your story before Pecan Grove, weve been searching but every door gets closed, I have hope in the Lord because He is good and when He gives us a dream He makes good on it. Ive begun to ask Him to bless us with a little extra because I want our children to also have land if they want it, right now our younger 2 would love nothing more than to grow all the things and have all the animals our oldest not so much but he was raised to know and the Lord tells us Train a child in the way he shall go and he will not stray, it also tells us that His word will not return void so no doubt Gods will is working in his life he is just off trying to find his own right now. Have faith Mr Danny that God is training up some of us young folks in the right ways, we arent popular and there isnt many of us but we are here. We love the Lord, can until we run ragged and still put up a few more jars, garden, raise animals, save seeds, raise honeybees and keep on adding year after year. There is still hope for a yonger generation they just need to be shown the way that seems to be lost. I am so thankful I was raised along side my grandparents and great grandma so that I could develop a love for these skills, skills I hope oir children grasp hold of and hope to one day pass on to our grandchildren as well.

I have this same mindset as you Mr. Danny, thanks to my Momma and Granny. I just don't have the ability to buy more land, yet. Our family is working on it. Doing what we can do with our little lot here in Perk. It is definitely hard work starting from scratch, and most don't want to do it, you're exactly right. I still work part time and starting a soap making business another part time, and my husband works 60 hours a week at a job still. Our time is so little. Hopefully the more we work towards it, the better we will get at it. If my business takes off, I'll be able to be at home more and so would my husband. That is our goal right now. Find the ways we can to be at home and still pay the bills, so we can work our land, get out of debt, and save money.
I feel like time is short, but we are not in the habit of giving up. We both grew up with nothing, and we've made a little something, and know we can go even further with faith and God on our side.
This porch time is exactly what I needed to hear, to remind us that we are on the right track. ❤

This is such a good one! Baldwin County in south AL used to be a large farming community. But, with beautiful white sugar sand beaches on one end, and subdivision pressures, the elderly retiring farmers (or their children) are selling to eager developers. Then there’s the LLCs that are usually represented by Americans, but actually owned by foreigners.
All the while, the area is being built into treeless subdivisions with HOAs prohibiting vegetables grown in front, and no livestock allowed.
So many moving in with Grocery store mentalities for generations now will be desperately searching for food, should the system collapse.

Out here in the really old fashioned country area where many homes were built in 1800’s and early 1900’s … no bank or dr or vet or stores other then a little private gas station … hardly anyone farms other than some older ppl but the real estate here on the east coast increased 300% in the last 2-3 yrs mostly from people in Ontario/ Alberta and BC and I have seen some of us young ppl pick these places with some acreage to homestead and are trying to grow what we can but there’s not many … most ppl of all ages just “go to the store” !
I have seen an increase of interest in people wanting to at grow a tomato plant or something because the prices are so ridiculous here ! The more ppl who go back to the old ways of food prep, the more motivating it is for others .. snots people are programmed to do and think what is socially acceptable so when it becomes socially the “in” thing … more and more people will start growing their own and preserving !!!

I'm blown away by grocery stores! Not just how much prices have increased, but more in how much I DON'T spend there! I determined several years ago to return to what my parents & grandparents did: grow food and store it. I take great notice of Proverbs 6:6-8 (NIV): "6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 7 It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest." Man alive, the word "sluggard" always, but ALWAYS gets my attention! Now I can see that canned goods on the shelf are worth MORE than money in a bank... I don't like most canned veggies and so dehydrate them; I can mostly meat. I recently finished moving a load of London Broil from the freezer to jars. I bought ALL of that "on sale" at $3.99/lb and that was all in 2023. Today? The "sale" price is $5.99 or $6.49, which was the "regular" price at the beginning of the year. Canning food is a better investment than is putting money in a bank.

I agree whole heartedly. We would like to but more land but the cost of $10-15,000 per acre is cost prohibitive except if you are rich. A lot of farmers will auction off their land and that really drives the price up. We looked into buying some of the original ground that got partitioned off from our place now, and they were unwilling to let go. We'll keep praying that something will come up. Thank you for encouraging people to grow food.

It is almost impossible to buy land to farm and ranch now days, but if you’re a minority or foreigner you can buy land with almost no down payment and really low interest plus they can also get grants that they don’t have to pay back

Great video!! I was born and raised in PA. Our farmland was being gobbled up for housing developments and warehouses. It made me sick! Worst yet, we could no longer afford to live in PA. We moved to Tennessee 10 years ago. Bought a farm. Sadly, I'm seeing the same thing that happened in PA, happening here. The farmland is disappearing faster than ever! I keep thinking: Where is the food going to come from for all these people????!!!??? So I'm like you Danny, I'm looking to expand my land, and I'm teaching my boys the same thing. I went to walmart last night for the first time in 4 weeks to pickup some supplies. I didn't have to purchase alot of items because I learned to grow it myself. It was nice to walk down isles, and say: I don't need that because I grow my own!!

My property in my area is protected. They do Protection for 20 years and 40 years we’ve done a whole bunch of them for 40 years.

I’m watching all the farms gradually disappearing to development. The senior farmers leave the land to their children and they sell it off. Very sad. NC I’m pretty sure just made it so foreign people can’t buy farm land anymore. Too bad it wasn’t before Smithfield got bought by the Chinese.

Thank you, the “fluffy generation “, lol. I work the Homestead alone, even though my older Daughter and family live on the property. I try to get them to help, I’m almost 60, this spring my knees were swollen so bad I was basically bed ridden until I got gel injections, but I missed the spring planting. I did get some things planted as soon as I could walk again. Good thing I had a bumper crop last year and canned and froze so much it carried me this year. I was just thinking this morning, how they don’t help much, and when I’m gone, who will carry on? I’m a widow and teaching my 14&15 year old special needs daughters to enjoy the garden and homeschool them. Cooking and canning are lessons. I’ve been teaching them to save seeds, find the joy in growing and putting up our food. I just don’t know what the future will hold, but I’m trying to get them involved. Be Blessed❤

I hear ya, Danny, I am in the midst of many farms here, on my acre and a third, and I pray God those farms stay productive. No farms, no food, at least not anything that will nourish your body. I grow a small garden every year and the crazy weather is always a challenge, but I so enjoy good, clean food and my chook's eggs. It's a cryin' shame when a farm gets sold and busted up for Mc Mansions or little box houses. Hopefully we're too far off the beaten path for a developer to be interested. Here we mostly see it happen along a major route. God bless you for speaking up for what really matters.

There is only a handful of Dairy farms left here in Vermont. It is so saddening to me. My grandson, the one with the farmall cub tractor is going to be 14 this month and he wants to take a tractor safety course so he can go and work on the big farm my husbands(his papa) works on and we can't find a place around to give the course. He has been wanting/waiting to turn 14 just so he could go to work, but nope. Where has this good world gone? So very sad!!!!

I have my chickens and goats and a nice size raised bed garden (25 raised bed and 1 high tunnel). The plan is to stay here for the rest of my life and leave it to the kids.

My father's parents sold their farm in NY state and moved to Florida. My parents had one acre. My brother and sister and I have each bought 7.25 acres. These properties are all next to each other. Mine being in the middle. My brother has built his house and shop and only is interested in the cars, planes and other vehicles he rebuilds. My sister only bought it for an investment but her husband wants to move there. I want to build a house and grow fruits, vegetables and have chickens, cows and maybe sheep and pigs. Maybe if i can dig a pond grow some fish. I already bought my big greenhouse from growers solution. My brother said we can combine the back part of our properties to graze cows. I have one and a third acres here where i live but its not big enough for cows. I have a big part of it growing fruit trees. I have been growing some vegetables and have grown chickens for 23 years. But this bigger property has more possibilities. 😊
