"For those of you who are like me and lack the ability to trust"
Honestly laith, after what Burgundy did to you i can't blame you
💀
The charm about Byzantium guides is that they never become old and they are always extremely enjoyable
I mean who doesn't want to watch the ottomans burn
I guess this is a personal thing. Honestly, I really dont understand the fascination people have with playing Byzantium...
@@jorn5869 It's the last remnant of probably the most romanticized nation in human history, Rome.
@@crazeelazee7524 I know what Byzantium is haha. I just don't see how that adds gameplay value aside from roleplay for like one time
@@jorn5869 You'd be amazed how important roleplay is for some people. The Ulm world conquests thing is testament to that. Plus Byzantium and Granada are probably the most challenging nations in 1444, which further adds to its appeal
That final bit about provoking the revolt then releasing them as a vassal was so big brain, so I now know how to take more land in a war now because of this.
also works somehow in the HRE. Conquer a nation Partion it with your allies and before unlawfull hit release the Vassel.
It's a real shame that they become very disloyal though
A similar stretegy is to vassalize the Netherlands as soon as they spawn, before the Dutch minors join them, thus getting the Dutch minors for free.
@@maximcuros2648 But its Not That hard to keep them loyal!
@@kalterverwalter4516 Is it not? Bulgaria is roughly the same size as byz by this moment, so I assume that you either have to get "strong duchies" and lose every bit of prestige or get an armt that will cripple your economy
I like when Ottomans ally Tunis. Because then they move their army to Anatolia and you can siege down Tunis. Since they are big you can get buckets of ducats. Plus then they can't raid you until the truce timer is up.
Also force convert Epirus in the peace deal.
Bulgaria strategy was genius
that bulgarian strategy is very wild, and very cool. hadn't considered spawning rebels to do your dirty work in peacetime, only in the "full siege ming and watch them blow up" sense.
Eu4 players playing byzantium for the 1000th time:
The Bulgarian revolt strat is genius, now I'm annoyed I didn't think of that! It also makes taking Burgas in the first war worthwhile (normally I'd take it after releasing Bulgaria so they didn't get the province)
I have always thought defeating the Ottoman was RNG but you sir manage to do it better.
Still will be waiting for that very hard guide. Probably involve using your OP ally to win against the Ottoman as even the small nation have something like 11+ unit. Defeating their fleet however will be a challenges.
Oh my gosh Laith thank you so much I always struggle against the Ottomans when I am trying to do a restoring Rome campaign but I won't anymore thanks to this guide!!!
Also you should wear tighter shirts.
📸
the real way to beat the Ottomans is to play as Montferrat with plans to restore Byzantium.
And then watch as you become a secondary character in a Burgundy playthrough
There's a few issues here, but the guide is very solid. Love the trick with straight blocking to stack wipe. As for the problems though, you didn't show economy after the war. Generally most people will be able to win the actual war itself, but the faltering economic status of your country destroys the run. On top of this, it's also better not to take their capital province, as it's easy warscore for the 2nd time around, while this will clear more debt. Not even mentioning the aftermath of dealing with aragon / venice jumping in.
Dude such a galaxy brain move with Bulgaria. Awesome video!
Clearly the success of this video will determine how attractive the youtube audience believes you to be.
I was going to Istanbul for New Years Eve, I'll keep this in mind.
Merry Christmas to you all
you are one beautiful guy
This is by FAR the best, fastest and easiest start i've ever tried as byzantium. Great job mate
this is some grade A content my guy. i barely play EU4 anymore, but this is a blast.
Damn the rebel strat... quite brilliant, gotta try next time with big nations (Lithuania, Muscovy, Mamluks)
Great video as always chad lad.
I just tried it with the Mamluks and it didn't work... Ottos declare on other nations and they got mil access through Poland, Hungary and unsieged those provinces...
What about playing two games of EU4 at the same time? (Not at speeds 5, that would be a disaster)
Also, still love the facecam.
Merry Christmas man
And The Phoenix rises!
By the way, you should improve relationship with Aragon as they have mission to take your land. Got declared on once during first war with ottoman, but ended up beating them quite easily to load of money and a foothold in Iberia since their French ally did not join.
awesome move at the end to let the bulgarians rise up and get on this way free provinces.. pretty nice ty
Something similar, with tones of mercs, is the way to fight castille also, as Granada.
I have to follow this guide, cause i want Basileus and Mare Nostrum.
Merry Christmas :)
Merry Christmas Eve!
This guide is the christmas present i dreamed of
Merry Christmas!!!
I would like to see you continue this game, and also a Brandenburg opening if you have any tricks for that nation
Like others in the comments, I much rather like the addition of the rebel-abuse strategy.
He's done it again, another video with webcam to flex the drip he has.
In my humble opinion however, this shirt looks good quality, very clearly well looked after and a simple yet effective design about Victoria 3, however the Christmas EU4 Jumper was too good, although the shirt is a very good piece of kit to have, the Jumper has to take the Cake for this one:

i already figured it out on my own, what i did was the same at the start, but instead of going for gallipoli, i would get my stack to fight the ottomans on constantinople(their full army) and let them retreat to anatolia, then bombard gallipoli and assault fort, locking them on anatolia
why, do you ask me? it's obvious, if the ottomans lose too many troops on the first war, the mamluks will almost certainly blob hard by attacking them and our mid game expansion will be hampered. it's 1600 and i already have almost all egypt, naples, anatolia and the balkans up to bosnia(austria blobbed, i'm waiting to betray them)
i got in a lot of debt cause venice declared right after i finished the first war against the ottomans, i had to get more mercs to beat them, but it was a strong start, this is probably my second better save, losing only to the one i got muscovy austria and the commonwealth early as pus(and got france later)
thanks for the guide im gonna try this in a friends mp game
Your voice gives me serotonin
Is it just me ot does he look like Hayden Christensen?
Nvm Great video mate!
Merry "slightly late" Blot!
I love the vassal thing, I need to use that in my own games
Bulgarian rebels is new for me. Nice idea!
Of all the runs, no one talks about the CRUSHING debt you deal with after the war. This is the way to do it.
omg your microphone is so much better now
That Bulgaria strat was good! Honestly never thought of that. Reduces the number of wars needed to smack the ottomans around and reduces liklihood of Hungary stealing a province you need for missions. I like!
The day I tried this Venice declared war the second I dropped the Mercs. Hadn't even rivaled me. 😂
Man, that Bulgaria move was cool
Goddamn you look the same as my brother, i cant unsee it
> Me trying this technique
> Epirus got an alliance with Genoa
> Their Navy wrecked mine
> Restart (ᕵ﹏ᕴ)
Laith is finally realizing he can gain thirst clicks with the facecam
Augustus would be proud
This is a Christmas special. If I do not see Saint Nick chosen in the orthodox religion menu I will be disappointed.
That Bulgarian thing wow. I usually do it by somehow allying Hungry and Venice(stomach turns)
Dam you are a handsome guy
Any idea as to why Gelibolu is always maintained? I have 0 fleet, 0 army nearby, and nobody else seems to be doing anything that I can see.
Continue this game!
THAT 1000000 IQ PLAY WITH BULGARIA
can you guys do a guide for 1.33?
i tried playing byzantium in the new version and some things are quite different from the previous one, the ottomans now don´t neglect their forts and some mechanics seems to have been changed
just keep your soliders in constantinople before attacking, barrage and assault the coastal forts while shift consolidating, kill the ottoman army on balkan side and make sure they're not recruiting any solider on anatolian side, separate peace the akkoyunlu, and peace the ottomans when you hit at least 80% war score. if you're not that competent then just ally the hungarians and wait ottomans to declare war on albania.
A christmas classic.
Victoria 3 POGGERS
I've done this only once with vassal exploit but almost 1/3rd of my provinces were returned to me by Albania who decided for some reason that giving byzantium back it's cores is a good idea
This does help😁
Me, staring at this video, after the 30th attempt of somehow loosing the 100 years war as France
The Bulgaria trick is genius
I usually just ally poland or Austria and maybe mamuluks then you can quite easy get full 100% warscore where i just take my cores and then bolu, ankara, kangiri and tolcu and get three vassals from it and all wars after that against the ottomans are easily won just handing back cores
Fuckin Genius mate!
Fucking awesome
I spotted that play Byzantium for me personally easier than play England in that patch
When you do the Bulgaria trick you should also fabricate claims on kosovo to get that gold mine. Do it before you release Bulgaria to get around the "too far away" problem.
Never seen your face before so i thought it was Jordi in the thumbnail
He looks like if chad gave him his cheek muscles his mom said be there or be square and he wasn't there what a chad.
What is the DLC called where you can do the shore bombardement thingy?
>Bulgarian strats
wtf I literally love you now
wow cool mod where can I get my own Social streamer to appear in the bottom right corner of Eu4 mod?
the bulgaria thing was genius
Literally just commenting cause I like you and want engagement
0:24 That kids, is the face of a man who just realized how much he screwed up.
How many restarts to have Epir without any ally?
That thumbnail tho 😏
I personally enjoy it more when you don't have the facecam
This is it
The Bulgarian strat was the most hilarious thing I've seen in a long time! 😂
I love these tutorials where you have take like 3 k loans, looking forward for your no loans tutorial.
Not working anymore, they seem to never mothball their forts.
Edit: after a 2nd try, i rectify. This strategy still works in 1.33.2 patch!
The only difference is that you need to just have enough mercenaries with you in order to not be attacked...and you have to take all possible moral bonuses, including the one from missions.
And you have to start with all armies iin constantinopol and jump straight for galipoli.
Ottomans are so agressive...but they are beatable.
I even did kill them completly withput save scumming at all.
Man, you are a great teachsr of strategies!
I didn't follow the whole strategy...but the beggining part is amazingly accurate
It's funny despite how many years I've played eu4 I've never played Byzantium
What are the mods used in this? I’m really new and want to see what I would need for this.
Why do you vassalize epirus? I keep not vassalizing them and I keep getting my ass kicked. Are these issues related?
I've never seen you before, you look very Brazilian XD
Great, now beat Castile as Granada alone with no loans.
Neat
Please continue the Byzantium
could you do one for true hair of timur?
Oooo he is handsome !!!!
*laughs in Epirus allying Genoa on day 1*
How many likes will it take to get you to do this on very hard with no loans? Also, I'm already looking forward to the idea of that.
Axios! Axios! Axios!
Damn to provoke the Bulgarian seperatists to let them take back their land was really smart.
I can never get this to work. I can never get gelibolu to fall before the ottomans kill my 3k and if I do manage to get it they just walk around and go through Bulgaria even with the straights blockaded
hi
hi
Bye
hi
very hard no loans pls!!!
Is there any chance you can do this in a step by step mode :P loool Im litterly shit at the game
Ah Laithe you’re so pretty :)
Ottoman's no longer unmaintain the forts in recent update. Paradox really doesn't want Byzantium runs anymore.
cool shirt
