One Piece is great and all BUT DRAGON BALL has had the biggest impact on my life since the day I could understand TV shows. Since OG to Super, I've always loved the series. Watching my brothers see the fight between Goku and Frieza was always a sight to remember. I didn't understand at the time, but the day I first laid eyes on that one episode of Goku vs Vegeta, I knew my view on Dragon Ball was going to be an awesome trip. I'm a grown ass man and I still can't forget the show that brought many of my childhood dream together.
Db all the way
I know exactly what you mean brother, growing up DB was the shit, now grown and still love it.
Dragon Ball had the luxury of being first and the benchmark for all future Shonens. The creator of One Piece was inspired by Akira Toriyama which os why One Piece does have some similarities. Dragon Ball didnt really have that great of a story though in all honesty but i still love watching it regardless
Yea right now they pushing one piece cause its 25 anniversary for one piece I heard
Don't compare the DraGOAT ball to one piece
I never got into one piece but dragon ball was my gateway to anime and japanese comic books
One Piece has been celebrating it’s 25th anniversary for 2 years…
no cap🤣but that's because the anime and manga were two years apart
2 years ago it was the manga now it's the anime
One Piece but the real culprit here is Toei, how can a the biggest anime studio just choose to focus on 1 anime when many new studios are working on multiple animes with top notch quality.
Because they can
Because they are trash @@Panicjac
They tried. You shouldn't blame Toei for something like this. Back when Super was airing, Toei was animating Dragon Ball and One Piece and the quality of both showed. Even after they had so much freelancing, the quality of each anime was lacking because of the workload put on the animators. Studios like Mappa work on plenty of top-notch quality anime, yes, but that's ignoring the slave-like work they put in. The animators suffer so much and it's been documented by plenty of animators have stated how difficult it is to animate something like that every day. It's not right to make those animators suffer. The new Toei philosophy on animation and letting animators express themselves more each episode is the way to go, as shown through the beautiful animation quality of the recent arcs of One Piece. Don't blame Toei for not overworking their staff.
@@Panicjac with an anime as big as DB ? Why tho ?
@@adog3418yeah DB takes precedence over one piece any day of the week. Oda can kick rocks for making people wait a generation for luffy vs kaido.
This actually makes me want to cry because akira… it’s too many words to type but DBZ is monumental and 40 years is something to be celebrated - was never a one piece fan but.. something is up, that a series so huge and profiting doesn’t get proper marketing.

Dragon Ball. That in and of itself made me continue to draw. I started watching it on my 5th birthday, thanks to my cousins turning it on CN as it was the episode where Gohan was turning into SSJ2. I became a huge fan because of them. And they had posters and toys. Lol
But anywho, I don't draw like how I used to since graduation, but I'll never forget my growth to art as I got older and learned new things. Even finding my own style of art. Thank you DB for many years of inspiration.

Dragon ball hands down
hands up for the spirit bomb!
As much as I ABSOLUTELY LOVE One Piece, Dragon Ball has been my true love since the beginning.
Dragon ball. I'm 35. When i was 9 i went on a holiday to spain. My mum got me a dragon ball coloring book. I loved the look of the characters and the style. It is what got me into drawing the characters. Then i found out about dbz. Binged the hell outta that after school whenever it was on. My first ever episode was goku meeting freeza.
Dragon ball. I was 8 years old in 1997 when my only friend at the time introduce me to dragon ball z..and i fell in love. As a lonley and tormented fat kid..dragon ball was my saving grace and still to this day it has brought nothing but joy to my life.

It's obviously Dragon Ball I've been watching it since I was a kid

Yu Yu hakusho which did come out later than dragon ball was heavily inspired by dragon ball z especially and also it helped to inspire more things in dragon ball in terms of the spirit world more so as Yu Yu hakushou went more in depth in that realm. Both are really good.

Dragon Ball because it helped me unlock my limits. It helped me to think that I wasn't limited based on how everyone perceived of me mentally and physically. Helped me to see a brighter future.
Dragon ball when I was young Dragon ball meant everything to me in the way I see anime even to this day I would have never gave one piece a chance if I didn't first experience dragon Ball!
Dude I love Dragon Ball with my whole heart, it's the anime I grew up watching. But a few months ago I started watching One Piece, I'm around 150 episodes in and believe me when I tell you, I've never cried so much watching a show. Oda is a master in creating scenarios where you cry but not of sadness, you cry of JOY.
So both creations are masterpieces in their own way. We shouldn't be putting the blame over One Piece fans, Toei is the one on the wrong here
Yo how are you only on 150 in a few months? But I agree my only problem with one piece is if you read the manga it feels like I’m read way more than I should be and the way oda does his panels doesn’t feel good all the time it feels like I’m reading early berserk where there is so much shit happening and I can’t comprehend all of it.
Note I mean no hate I just wanted to point out the fact that people will say how amazing oda is when in reality the biggest hype for one piece for a while now has been its animation I did stay up late to watch gear 5 vs kaido right when it dropped and I am most definitely a die hard one piece fan but I love dragon ball just as much

Dragon ball. I couldn’t even finish season three of one piece. Yet I can rewatch the Dragon ball series any time
Dragonball 💯
Dragon Ball was among my first anime which stated my journey to anime, much love to Dragon Ball
In my personal background, my family (dads side) primarily grew up with Dragon Ball and only just heard of one piece and never watched it. My dad introduced me to Dragon Ball so I'd say I did grow up with it and it became by favorite anime of all time.
DRAGON BALL!!! ALL THE WAY!
My fav anime hands down! The one I nerd the most.
Dragon ball for sure
Dragon Ball. I remember sneaking downstairs into the living room while everyone else was sleeping, just to watch the series. Got caught a few times, while my bro was trying to steal snacks (we shared the snacks while watching).
Emotionally, One Piece. I was watching it while in high school and the loneliness was easier to get through with One Piece's lessons.
Physically and Insperationallly, Dragon Ball Super. I was watching is while in middle school and it helped me to be physically fit, and helped keep my eyes wide for my art and animation dreams.
I've only seen Super and 1/3 of DB and no Z at all, so about 160 episodes of Dragon Ball over all. But the fandom is easier for me to consume fan content from, I feel at home with Dragon Ball UA-cam.
I've only seen pre-timeskip One Piece, so about 526 episodes of One Piece over all, including movies. But it's harder for me to consume fan content from, I don't feel at home with One Piece UA-cam.
But considering my high school years were harder than my middle school years (if I remember correctly), then I'd say One Piece has had a bigger impact on my life. *So far.*
One piece. I’ve been watching it since I was a kid at my grandma house
dbz was still fire but it was more of a major influence to my uncle who is much older than I
My understanding is :
Toi or whoever knew that there are a lot of fans and die-hard fans for DBZ and Super, so much so, that their team decided too have it happen the way it did; the only thing that makes sense to me at least, Blackscape
To be honest, I had no idea that one piece was even that old. I grew up watching Dragon Ball in the 90s, and I've watched one piece's anime(not all the way through) and was only aware of its existence in like 2017. So you tell me. Why is it getting more love than the staple of toei and most modern animes. We need to get back to DBS anime. We have so much in manga that needs to be animated.
I grew up on dragon ball, so I’d say it affected me growing up, but I’d say after getting into one piece 2 years a go, I like it a bit better. But I will give my thanks to dragon ball and I will always watch the anime catch up with the manga (if it ever comes off it long break(take your time)) and play every game, I love dragon ball and who I’ve become because of it.
Dragon ball, it's how me and my dad got so close
Dragon Ball since I have never watched one piece
One piece never seems shown in our childhood..
plus having so many eps ,Just give up😂
Hear me out. I’m 37 and a school teacher. Dragon Ball Z was a huge part of my childhood and how I made good friends. My students watch things like Black Clover or Demon Slayer… mha… one piece… and aside from some Dragon Ball Super episodes, they know very little about Dragonball.
Dragonball has inspired the big 3 and the big 3 inspired all these other anime/manga.
And keep in mind… I’m 37. And a school teacher. If my students are into the newer gen anime and I’m into dragonball, a series that ended in the 90s and didn’t have much original “good” content other than light sprinkles, it’s the 25 year olds who make all the difference. Those guys and girls are the people with influence. And that middle generation are into the big 3… but mostly they’re into the one that stayed consistent and didn’t end/sprinkle content.
One piece may not have as huge of an impact on our past lives, but I have older students who wrote a compelling argument to why One Piece should be used as official literature in English class due to the cultural topics covered, current relevance, and it selling more than even certain literature over their 200-year span. That’s wild!
Ultimately, Dragon Ball’s time passed when z was over. It’s a blessing we got the movies and Super and now Daima.
The world knows Dragonball for the super Saiyan and fusion pose. They think it’s just a bunch of fast punches and kicks, flying, and energy blasts with little story or simple story.
We know different. But when the world talks about One Piece, we hear the opposite. The story is complex, the world building is huge, the topics covered are compelling, and the fights have meaning.
One piece gets a 25 year anniversary and their content has been made for 25 years will very little breaks.
Dragon Ball has a 25 year anniversary, but how long did the original content last?
The influence has shifted and we have to get used to that. Last year during the Thanksgiving parade, I saw a Goku float. This past year, I saw a Luffy float.
Dragonball by far. One Piece put me to sleep at 12am.... in my 20's. Dragonball Z, hell even Dragonball was what I was looking foward to after school as a kid.
My school had some dragon ball mangas but it was only the saiyan saga and I fell in love with it
4th like fam keep going hard with the content bro love it
Its weird, one piece is my fav anime, but dragon ball had the most impact on my life, i grew up with it

You sir are a glazer. one piece does the exact same thing and I can tell you've only watched dragon ball super. Every character was introduced and had their moments in Dragon ball. In Z the focus was at first on goku and his saiyan heritage as well as gohan, and building his relationship with piccolo. Hell, Krillin on namek did more than Nami, ussop, and chopper did from alabasta all the way up to wano, and they are part of the main crew. Please don't ignore the flaws just because you prefer the series. especially when you start by asking which characters got a power up last. If you wanna play like that then how come luffy is so far and away superior to his right hand man zoro, and sanji. aren't they supposed to be the monster trio? How come as things are now, luffy could take them both at the same time with ease? How come ussop has always been weak? how come they don't give robin more chance to shine? How come charaters like iceberg get introduced with interesting personalities and then thrown away mid arc?
For me, it's Dragonball, because even I missed out some episodes specially from original DB due to my conflicting schedule between previous middle school (grade 2~6) and the airing of DB in the TV back in the day before I can use internat all-day (and I finally catch up in Dragonball Z), this is the same IP/franchise I grew with next to Naruto (both this and Shippuuden is what I finally completed watching all episodes after DBZ), and I enjoy the majority of all Goku fights specially against Frieza, Majin Buu, and Kid Buu. Many years later, I also fully watched DB Super, first in vs Beerus arc in TV and the rests of all arcs in Netflix or any other streaming platforms (or maybe any UA-cam clips or private streaming websites if I run out of money to resub Netflix).
Thank you for this materpiece, Akira Torimiya, and also RIP 🙏🕊️

ONE PIECE TAKES 45 YEARS to watch EVERY EPISODE
Dragonball. I was literally raised on DB, like literally an infant watching Db with my dad. It carried me through a rough childhood, I would literally think "what would Goku or Gohan do?". They never gave up no matter how strong the enemy in front of them was. DB taught me to persevere, when the world beats you down you get back up and get stronger. I've been through really rough shit. Abuse, Mom was an addict, kept us away from out dad, etc. I wont go deep. But DB helped me through all of that bullshit man. So it will always have a special place in my heart. It literally made me who i am.
While i do agree with most of your points in the video i do want to say. I don't feel there's a need to say anything negative about One Piece itself, Its really just Toei's fault. We just want DB to get the same kind of treatment. I do enjoy one piece but It almost feels like they are trying to push one Piece to "replace" DB in a sense. We need them to show DB the same kind of love they show OP.
I don't want Dragon Ball to be like Tinkerbell, where... with Tinkerbell, Disney made many sequels, and they all are alright, but they don't really make those Tinkerbell movies as a main thing. They are focusing on new things like the animated movies Coco and Encanto and Finding Dory, or they focus on making a live action version of classic stuff like they did with the Jungle Book and The Lion King, but Tinkerbell, those movies are on the back burner where if they don't have anything else at least they have Tinkerbell where they can make money off of that. I don't want that for Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball is amazing, I still want more of it, and I agree with what is being said.
Im so pissed that one piece is getting à remake despite having not even ended yet and dragon ball after 40 years still dosent have one its crazy
I'm 33 years old and I lived dragon Ball z my entire life the passing of Akira toriyama definitely did halt the progress of the series in many different ways and you are absolutely correct and I completely agree they have been promising us a live action dragon Ball forever and they have come out with a few but they have not lived up to the reputation or hype in any regard now we have been waiting almost 40 years as you have send and they have not given the series The recognition and it saddens me deeply I have so many different dragon Ball z figurines dragon balls tapestries even clothing my love will never fade even if the series falls I still have the games and I will relive every account that I possibly and I'll even add my own twist as abridged did but keep up posting and good luck to you I hope they actually listen to the fans and understand what it truly means for the community not only the United States but the rest of the world is well it almost became a tradition And a culture all of its own in such a short time and can't be just left in the shadows... That all I've got to say about that
even though I watch one piece, Naruto, JoJo and other anime before dragon ball, but dragon ball really inspire me a lot. and my art style is mostly inspired by it.
Dragon ball is something that's been with me since I was 9 years old. I played the OG budokai on ps2, Budokai 3, I watched Z on toonami and caught GT on nicktoons.
It was some of the best memories I have, and dragon ball is a part of what made me who I am today. The only other anime I'm equally as huge on is gundam.

I believe they know Dragon Ball advertises itself and takes advantage of that. There isnt nearly as much free advertising for One Piece for them. Also with Toriyama passing i think they are nervous to further touch the series because fans will react strongly being so. I do agree Daima deserves more attention. Its Toriyamas last work, 40 years of DB and his passing. It would serve great homage to his life and work to put alot behind his final release. Alot of anime doesnt exist without DB
Dragon Ball should change studios. They should shift to studio that would give justice to the show, the anime, the story, most importantly justice to us the fans

Dragon Ball no doubt, yet I honestly think that toei animation isn't trying to raise daima that much BECAUSE... they may be readying something for us fans... who knows? Once they have One Piece at an closing part, they will announce some sneaks to dragonball hopefully.
its been nearly a decade since the last dbs episode
I actually agree they need to market dragon ball better seriously 😢 especially for the anime. Because they are focusing so hard on the games which I appreciate as our last game db wise was kakarot but hopefully daima sets up another movie or something.
