Machida bowing to lifeless bodies in the octagon is iconic
Samurai things
He's bowing to an opponent, not his enemy.
Not just any bodies either. Most of his greatest KO's are over world champions. Vitor Belfort, Randy Couture, Rashad Evans, etc...
@dreamermma8970 This era of light heavyweights was my favorite.
Almost as iconic as when Jon jones thought about killing machida but at the last second remembered he was a Christian and let go of the choke….and machida fell over. And Jon jones walked away. Nasty.
Machida was a real warrior.
Ong
For me the goat
True Dragon, he just got defeated by JJ in such an incredible way almost nobody understands how good he was.
@@liwson333love Machida but #stopthe🧢
Yea and very undersized as well
Machida was always one of ths most respectful and classy guys
Horrible watching him be choked out and chucked aside by Jon
@@TheEugeepy horrible? its a sport u win some lose some.
he drinks his own pee..
@@TheEugeep H E E Z G H E Y ! ! !
Be backed off on many fighters. Great guy
The fact that he bowed and showed respect to his opponent and not dance around mocking him like so many western fighters speaks volumes of the man he is.
His father was the head of JKA Shotokan in Brazil and Lyoto started training at age 3. He learned those good manners and respectful attitude from early on. 😎
Totally agree. When you put somebody's lights out, show some respect and decency and don't prance around like an asshole. Machida never once acted like a goon no matter what. Anybody who sets foot into that octagon deserves that basic respect win or lose.
Dancing around and being disrespectful is far from just a Western fighter thing. It sounds like you have an agenda behind your opinion there.
That bow was classy _AND_ savage.
Perfect combination
Similar to what Rose did to Zhang.
Agreed. Probably the savage way to celebrate in style
@@travismarangoni8268no, it's respect to another warrior! Bushido... The way of The Warrior
If I had a nickel for everytime Vitor Belfort got KOed by a front kick, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.
By the top two Brazilians of his era and weight class
the 2 most infamous also u can argue the chandler one is more popular than this one though but nothing tops anderson’s front kick
Randy courture
@@god-0F-W4RNah, Fuck Chandler, That was a Lucky blow.......
The Feetor kick.
The original karate kid of the ufc
That bow was ice cold
What bow?
Machida was a samurai man. Destroys you then bows.
Pause
That was beautiful. He was measuring him all the whole time
he programmed him to fail.
Machida opened my eyes to mma. He really is one of the greatest to do it
Finally some love to Lyoto.
He was one of the few true martial artists imo
Yeah Machida was a beast, loved his fighting style , really showed how effective his karate was.
Shotokan karate baby
@@Alex-xu1ko yeah bro
Ossss Karate ni senti nashi..
It’s the gentleman finish that puts him in a league of his own
Imagine getting knocked out by the same front kick twice.
Lyoto is a legend
Machida was always wonderful to watch, a class act and warrior. A man to admire.
I never thought about he was speeding down his kicks to give a sense of less urgent defense.. amazing tactics
Steven Seagal
@@1247.cccccc😂😂😂
Remember the head kick that retired Couture! Lyoto Machida was one of the most entertaining fighters to watch, phenomenal karate
Yeah, the kick knockouts are crazy.
Remember Mark Colmen? I forgot who timbered him, but, he almost kicked his soul out of him.
People forget just how good Lyoto was
No they dont
His attempt against JBJ was so good, the ending so incredible.
@@user-wd2pn1hm6othe new generation of fans definitely do. Most of them probably don’t know who machida is.
Nobody forgot! Were literally still watching videos and talking about him. He's a fucking UFC champion for God's sake!!
These youtube comments piss me off!!
@@Chosimba_ng when was the last conversation you had where lyoto was brought up
The quality of the man shows in his formal respect for his opponents and the ring. His technique is fluid dynamic and quite well trained, " the way is in training "MM
After he did this. Everyone started doing it. He started with the crane kick. Works like a charm
love this fighter he's respectful and honorable !!!
Incredible fighter
Legend
Japanese and Brazilian genes FTW!! He is one of the most respectful fighters
I miss Machida, man was pure class
Threw a bunch of changeups, then laid in the heater
I've always been a HUGE Machida fan
Lyota was my all time favorite fighter,
he was so much fun to watch.
So many UFC fighters don’t have the respect for their opponents and the art of martial arts! But his heart and humility are second to no one! He’s a great fighter in everything ! God Bless him
Setups don’t get enough love in MMA analysis. That’s where the real smarts and complexity happens, for me. Watching the steps reminds me of Rogan’s analogy of MMA being like a high stakes chess match.
Yeah you learn how to set people up in wrestling/grappling. Belfort should have been planning a takedown during this entire sequence. That's how you beat those kicks. Watch the sequence and you will see takedown opportunities.
Front snap kick is the easiest to learn and one of the most effective kicks there are also super under utilized in the ufc
Unless im mistaken, it was the first kick taught in shotokan. Its been a very long time since then but I think that was it
Sun Tzu be proud.
Lyoto trained with anderson silva and they both used the same attack to end the fight.
Machida is still one of my favorites
Shotokan baby
I dont think he feinted with a left hand jab, i think he was kust using his hands to get momentum in the kick.
This is what I was thinking as well. Nevermind his actual intentions, if you are implying that he is throwing slowed down front kicks to the body to set-up a faster front kick to the head, why would a feint with the left hand be useful?
Why’d he have to give Vitor Front kick PTSD 😂
Why did Vitor take out one of Bisping's eyes?
Machida and Anderson Silva must've studied this together. He set it up perfectly.
They both learned it from Steven Seagal.
@@l31007😂
Anderson Silva has entered the chat.
Crazy that he did the same thing 😂
@@aedronzak897 Anderson also did it over 7 before Lyoto.
Didn't Silva break a leg while leg kicking his opponent?
Real life Dragon 🐉
The bow he gave after the KO was a very Jean-Claude Van Damme move in bloodsport
Lyoto Machida, un ICONO DEL UFC!! SUPERB!!
These guys are part of the reason BONES is the goat, he dominated BOTH of these guys somehow
Now if only we can get Roided Jones as a fighter
You realize how much bigger Jones is??? These guys should have never in the ring with him
He dominated TRT vitor thats a feat on itself
He's the UFC Mayweather - Picks the right fights and usually cruises to a 5 round snore fest.
Somehow? JJ is more ferocious, better skilled and more rounded fighter.
Machida was always very respectful. A true champion.
Pow right in the kisser😂
To the moon Alice! 🌙
Machida is a legend one of my favorite fighters in his prime. That said this was when Victor was coming off the trt. I do not believe prime vitor vs prime machida would end the same. Young vitor is in my top five.
There's a reason young Vitor was called the Phenom, and the fastest hands in the UFC!! He is and always will be my all-time favorite fighter!!
The bow is pure respect
What bow?
This is prime example of how a preconditioning of a strike is much more amazing than the strike itself.
That was insane, I watched it twice, might watch it one more time before I go now
Machida was definitely a dangerous fighter. You had better be on top of your game fighting this man.
Lyoto was my fave.
Along with Karo.
Machida was one of a kind
Migeri to the face is super deadly
That is mae geri.
This was my favorite knockout ever
Machida made me a fan of this sport. Will always have mad respect for the dude, and look back on his successes fondly.
Machida definitely one of the greatest fighters to ever step into octagon. Along with Matt Hughes and Forrest Griffin and ol coke man I mean frost man Lidell
Machida has always been my favorite fighter
By the same token, every kick that was telegraphed by Machida offered an opportunity to attack whilst Machida was leaning back and with his hands down.
It was a good fight at the end he bowels and shows him respect cuz he lost with Honor he is a true martial artist
What a fight that was too. That kick is iconic.
He kicked him like he knew it was already over before the kick
That does not work against aggressive fighters. But magical against patient ones.
Doesn’t it explain please
Steven Seagal taught him that move.
😂😂
That's the shit Space Ice doesn't want the people to know.
No way
" welcome to the Machida era " then proceeds to go on a losing streak 😅
I thought for a while,
No one is gonna beat this guy!
I always liked watching Leoto, his fighting style was so unique.
@@rumplestillskin6157I think he would've been better off if he'd stayed at 205. I thought he'd be in the pound-for-pound debates for years.
I think the fight just before that he got knocked out by anderson Silva the exact same way.
If Vitor was still on the sauce his neck would have held against the kick😂
Nah..😂😂😂😂😂
Der Mann hat wenigstens Respekt vor seinem Gegner.
Respekt ‼️
Used to be my favorite fighter then
That's the same kick Anderson Silva got belfor with
Bro wasn't reading his hips.
Damn, how do you defend against that?
Get out of range
No can defend Daniel son 🙏🏼
How about don't stand still and be a easy target?? The Mike Tyson bob and weave walk would be impossible to kick.
@@yoyo762 KROCOP AXE KICK all of Mike's bobbing & weaving wouldn't save the top of his head getting crushed.
Who doesn't appreciate Machida?!
Machita is one of my all time favorite fighters. He was an assassin in his prime.
The speed of the real kick was phenomenal.
It’s the reaction for me “well, thank you for the fight, good evening”
Dude was a master
Love his class when winning. Guys loose their minds acting crazy as if they never won a fight. This guy just bows savage
This was so beautiful to watch 🙏❤️ so much respect to both fighters 🙏❤️
The Bow at the End look so honourable true Samurai Spirit
Machida is still one of the greats, such discipline and respect.
“Karate is back!”
Loved those times
That bow at the end… some people have class!!! Legend!
Love this guy.such a humble family man. His father must be a proud man❤
He was seriously underrated as a fighter!!
Machida was a phenominal tactician and counterstriker especially in weight divisions where he was considerd relativly small inagine him as a solid welterweight a true warrior and great person , bowing out of respect and makes it look cold 🥶 😂
Machida era, was short but so exciting
Crane technique. “If do right, no can defense.” 😎
No shit! Sensei Seagal is an amazing teacher. Same kick worked against the same guy - against two different fighters. I wish they would've done a season of TUF that had Sensei Seagal as the coach of one of the teams. Shit, he could've coached both teams to double the awesomeness.
He didn't even smell it coming!!!
Legendary mate.
I'd never mess with him mate.
Welcome to the Machida era. Such a magical creature.
One strike. Knows he’s knocked. Bows like a true warrior. No need for smashing the guy when he’s down and unable to protect himself. I value that level of martial ability.
The Machida bow is legendary
I love Lyoto Machida one of the greatest of his time much respect 🙏❤️
The machida era
I love how he bows at the end to thank.
Courtesy of Steven Seagal.
Two of my favorite fighters.
Smart. Set up
That last kick was over explained. Everyone needs a hero tho
