Just to clarify since I have been receiving a lot of comments lately.
Metroid Zero Mission is a remake/reimagining of the original NES Metroid, therefore its at the beginning of the timeline.

Indeed it is and I am as excited as everyone else (made a video and everything about it) Just happy to have called it (in some fashion) before the reveal?
Actually ridley is the leader of the space pirates and mother brain is the main "brain" and not the leader
Ludwig Von koopa They have actually gone back and forth on that. Most recently the in game story for the Metroid 2 remake identified Mother Brain as the leader.

The Space Pirates refer to him as Commander Ridley.
(Edit): Then again, it was Ridley who led the assault on Samus' homeworld before they managed to corrupt Mother Brain.

If you wanted a purpose to Metroid the other M, it would be to further explore Samus’s connection to the Galactic Federation, their corruption, and her relationship with Adam. During the Prime series, you work for, and with, a seemingly good Galactic Federation. We get to fight among them and scan the audio logs of the dead troopers, solidifying your connection to them. However, Other M sets up our suspicion of the Galactic Federation, showing us that there might be top down corruption from the inside. Everything from the rouge assassin killing off the team one by one, to the use of your suit to creat a new Metroid, helps set the seed of distrust in the back of our head. Going into Metroid Fusion after Other M makes the game feel even more ominous than it already did. At least in my hyped opinion. 👍

I actually have a Other M playthrough going where I try to explain away some of the inconsistancies.
I do enjoy Other M as a game, but I do not use my enjoyment as an excuse to ignore its glaring issues. Gameplay/combat I do enjoy, the story is something I usually skip
Or better yet just pull a Superman Returns and just excise it from Metroid canon entirely.

Like I said in a different video, I believe that Metroid Prime Hunters takes place between Metroid Prime 1 and 2 because she uses the ship in Metroid Prime in Prime Hunters, and in Prime 2 she is using a different ship. Still a good video besides that though.

But to some it up in Hunters we see more elements from Prime 2 (Federation troopers, space pirate, Varia Suit) compared to elements recycled from Prime 1
The Orpheon That is true, but some of the designs could have changed before Prime 2 and before Samus changed her ship. It is also possible that she keeps some of her old ships at her home, since the Prime 2 ship (Which I call ol' reliable) is the same one as 2, Super, Other M, and beginning of Fusion. She may switch out ships depending on the situation.
I would also like to note that her only ship that appeared in a game that was destroyed was Zero Mission's before that point. (Which I call Space Hunter in reference to the Metroid NES manual and the original title for Metroid) It was sad to see that ol' reliable was destroyed.

Well I guess technically when Prime 1 takes place? Prime Pinball is basically Metroid Prime but in pinball form. So you can see it as a retelling of the same game, where the morph ball is indestructible

Wow, I was expecting this to be way further off than it ended up being. The only thing Orpheon got wrong was switching Prime 3 and Prime Hunters. Good job Orpheon.
This is the first video on youtube that I have found that agrees with the scans I have found on Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2....
Most people make it in a different order and I have found scans that disprove those timeline theories....
But this I can say, actually agrees with all of the scans and other lore I have found within the series
I wanted to use any information I found within the games to explain the chronological order of the games within the timeline, thus making it a little more concrete

Look at this scan
Logbook/Lore/Trooper Logs/Force One/PFC I. Crany
This shows Super Metroid is before Echoes
It in a Federation Marines log about Samus blowing up the planet Zebes....
That didn't happen until Super Metroid...
In Metroid NES/Zero Mission only the base was blown up....
The scans make the timeline so hard to figure out...
So does that scan mean the it is
Metroid NES
Metroid Prime (Zebes is still a planet and scans in panora drifts say that the base is being built back after Samus destroyed it the first time... And also we find that meta ridley was ridley from before but with mechanical upgrades, it said the process was very painful, I think that was in the phazon mines)
Then metroid II return of Samus (the baby Metroid)
The Super Metroid (the events with the baby)
Then other M (the baby Metroid and just after Super Metroid)
Then Metroid Prime 2 Echoes (the proof is in that scan

Metroid Prime 3 Corruption (the events with Dark Samus)
Then Metroid Fusion
Also I don't have any of the spin off games (Prime Hunters, Federation Force, Pinball)

"Last night at chow, Angseth starts talking about some bounty hunter and how she blew up a planet full of Space Pirates. I told her I didn't believe in fairy tales like that, and she took it personal. I just find it hard to believe that one person took out an entire Space Pirate base, that's all. But if she wants to believe in this Samus, or Bigfoot, or Santa Claus, she can."
Location in log book:
Logbook/Lore/Trooper Logs/Force One/PFC I. Crany
Notice it says:
"-some bounty hunter and how she blew up a planet full of Space Pirates."
That is a very interesting discovery! but the scan itself, seems a bit contradictory.
It first says : "-some bounty hunter and how she blew up a planet full of Space Pirates."
But later it states: "-I just find it hard to believe that one person took out an entire Space Pirate base, that's all"
So it could perhaps be interpreted either way, maybe the planet was an exaggeration of the story (it feels like the Feds has some camp fire stories) to make Samus sound all the more treating amongst their members
We also have to think that its never clear if the logs exclusively focus on lore from previous games (even though it seems very likely)
My reasoning for why the Prime Trilogy occurs one after the other was that, from a logical stand point (of sorts) With Mother Brain gone the pirates couldn't control the Metroids to hold the universe hostage, and so they (or another of their factions) set focus on harnessing Phazon to be used as weapons.
Their research on Orpheon (the station) Phazon Mines and their labs in Aether where all tests until they created the PED technology (with help of Dark Samus) by the time they were ready to set a war with the Federation in MP3.
Once Samus destroys Phaze, the Pirates are forced (in a way) into retreat/hiding, and thus the Feds changed their efforts into destroying the Metroid to avoid the Pirates from finding another way to use them.
While all this happened, they were forced back into their main plan and hide to rebuilding Tourain and Mother Brain, perhaps during the events of Metroid 2 or the Prime Trilogy.
But as many other things, its simply a theory.
"She can put a stop to it."
And blow up whatever planet that thing happened to be on in the process
I like how theres the original, 2, Super, and then fusion(also 4) and the rest are just side games. It keeps the main storyline simpler but you can dig more into it if you want

As I have mentioned on some of the comments and social media, there wasn't an update to the Metroid timeline until very recently via the SNES classic, which does confirm what you say. So yes error on my part
However, I made a video on why i feel Hunter's plot fits a bit better between Prime 2 and 3 (especially if Sylux is the antagonist of Prime 4) Its all personal opinion, but wanted to mention it in case you were curious. Thanks for watching

I have a theory.
I think they’re trying to connect Prime 3, Federation Force (whether you like it or not) and Samus Returns with Prime 4. Makes sense, since at the end of both Prime 3 AND Federation Force there’s an easter egg about Sylux. It’d be a perfect connection, that then continues to Samus Returns and so on.
I have reasons to believe that Prime 4 might not be connected (directly) with Samus Returns not because of timeline issues, but because of separate Producers being in-charge of each game, and each wanting to develop their own stories (Sakamoto being the classic games, Tanabe being the Prime saga)
That's a good point, but we don't know what's going on in their minds, who knows, maybe they have a secret plan :D

I would love a new Metroid game where they take the baby Metriod DNA from Samus's body and create a clone, but that clone also has partial DNA to Samus and her suits ability to absorb power and they create a bond like a cub to an alpha mother. Then they go on mission together fighting space pirates on a planet that used a corrupted version of Metriod DNA to power everything, meaning Samus needs her little Metriod to unlock doors, vents, etc to get through the labyrinth to fight Mother Brain that is infused with corrupted Metriod DNA meaning her attacks suck the life force and give it back to her making this version the most powerful of all the enemies Samus has ever faced. Her Metroid cub can also absorb the power of fallen enemies to give it to itself and Samus their energy and special abilities. What do you think?

Would be interesting to see if the Metroids return in some way in Prime 4, from what we know, Sylux might be a major villain (along with Ridley of course) so it would be interesting if a “new” Mother Brain and Sylux are working together to defeat Samus

I hate when people say nothing happens in Other M. Samus stops an invation of bio-weapons (including Metroids, Zebesians and Phantoon) that are controlled by what is basically a refined cyborg version of Mother Brain.
I'm sorry if I upset you with my comment (it was not my intention) what I wanted to say is that the events in Other M don't take much of a toll on anything in the overall timeline (its a self contained story except for Adam)But even then, if Samus actions aren't has 'key' compared to other games, she doesn't manage to kill Ridley or deal the final blow on M.B. She doesn't destroy the Metroids on Sector 0 or catch the Deleter or stand up the Federation at the end and to state her ground. I felt has her role was more passive, like clearing a path for the Platoon 7 and running a wild goose chase aboard the Botttleship.
And just to clarify, I truly do enjoy Other M has a game so I don't want to come off has a negative person, especially with someone who seems to enjoy the game a lot, didn't intend to come has 'hostile/negative' towards the game

Well to be honest, yeah, given the amount of negative reception that this game has, I can easily see how Manuel or anyone by your comment. When I saw this, I took just took it as "oh, just more needless Other M hate trying to put down the game's story as meaningless." I think it's rather ignorant to say "oh, that wasn't my intention." Like either you are lying or are being massively ignorant to say "oh I don't know how people would have interpreted this snide comment as hate to a game that already gets a lot of hate."

I haven’t finished the game yet so I’m not 100% sure, but I’d say that Metroid Dread now comes in at the end, due to what Seamus says at the start of the game about her last mission being the whole X debacle

Thanks for your words, they really help as an extra drive for me to make videos. Fortunately for me, I have got a very understanding and positive 'fan base' so almost no negative or bad comments fortunately. Even so, I am open to feedback/criticism especially to improve my quality.
I just like to clarify that sometimes people think Orpheon (channel) is a crew of people when its only a 1-guy team and I don't want to upload something I am not fully happy with. I want to give you the best of my abilities
My headcanon since the release of Samus returns is prime 3 is set after super because in sr388 there appear to be seeds wrapped in vines in area 5, and they look eerily similar to Phazon. Small thing but I think it all just flows better.

The Meteor that hit Aethor in Prime 2 was a Leviathan Seed, the things that spread phazon into a world.
I like how its subtly hinted at you of the meteor being like the one from Tallon IV, without being in your face as a fact. I enjoyed the Prime games for leaving some things open to the player's to discover
Isn't it reasonably well established that Hunters is inbetween Prime and Echoes? It's where most timelines I've seen place it, and Samus has her old gunship from Prime 1 rather than the version from Prime 2.

This totally doesn't matter at all because Prime Hunters isn't involved in any main storyline, but I do feel it's my duty as a metroid fan to say Hunters takes place between Prime 1 and 2, not 2 and 3. That changes everything, I know!
(For proof, it's stated in an interview with the developers on Nintendo World Report- "the ship that you see in the game is the ship from Metroid Prime, whereas the suit Samus is wearing is the suit from Metroid Prime 2. So, where the character is, in terms of development, fits somewhere between the two")
I know I'm late, but I'm kinda hopnig in Metroid Prime 4 that Samus is an antagonist of sorts, and would be a direct sequel to Fusion.
Considering, y'know, that she blew up the station in Fusion against the Federation's wishes.Federation wouldn't be too happy and likely puts a bounty on the hunter.

Biggest thing is Adam dying right before Fusion in the timeline doesn’t make sense considering how Samus talks as if he died a long time ago.
Metroid don't drain life energy, they drain electricity, the brain is full of electricity so they attach to the head, and they drain electricity from the suit, that's why the suit glitches in prime
I'm still hoping that Other M would be some sort of federation experiment to create "another Samus". Like clones, recreating a past event etc. Compare to Metal Gear Solid and how Raiden was meant to be the new Snake by reliving his missions.
Since Other M makes so much more sense being a prequel rather than a sequel (Ridley trauma, Adam needing to go kill metroids, so much focus on the past and cloning,)
No. That would be cheap and lazy. If you want to be a great writer, you recontextualize the events of Other M into something of a character development for Samus. Like how the death of the baby Metroid threw Samus into such a period of self-doubt that she starts following Adam's order to the letter just to prove she get the mission done without disobeying her superiors. And then have her reflect on the events as the lowest point of her life that gave her resolve to never falter again in spite of the tragedy thrown at her time and time again.

I think we can all agree with which two games we would like to consider as non-canonial spinoffs. But regardless, this is a mighty sensible way to organize them, and a great video to boot. The developer of Prime 4 confirmed that Prime isn't canon, not sure if this applies because I don't know much about Metroid Prime and it definitely should be canon but I don't know.
I love this. I’m trying to figure out a way to replay Zero Mission and Fusion, But I don’t have my GBA anymore. We have a Wii and a Switch, but Wii U was the console that has those games in its store. No others. So, I’m pretty much just going to have to wait for Dread.
Perhaps the other franchise that has a timelin that makes sense is pikmin...maybe mother too
