The Gen 4 Grand Caravans were arguably the best generation, so many of these things are still on the road and ticking, and if they're not, it's relatively easy to get them back into working order. The V6s in these vans are bulletproof out of the factory too, the body would likely rot out before the engines in them stopped ticking. Yes I'm biased, most of my time in a vehicle in my life was in my mom's 2003 GC SE, old gal's taken us coast to coast and to some of the territories across Canada, and done a lot of utility work for us over her 19 years of service.
@@TechiePocket1 I'm trying to turn my 1/2 ton Ford into a 3/4 ton so it looks like we're both on a vehicular building/tuning journey lol. I got an old 1994 F-150 4.9L that I will one day (eventually) set the F-150 body on a 2011 F-250 6.2L frame. It'll take me about a couple of years to get it all done, but I REALLY LOVE the old body Fords a lot.
@@RBLUS_TY oh that'll be sick! Ye I'm gonna be putting in a stroker jk engine into this thing whenever time and money comes together lol. Should be around 350whp
Depends on the mufflers design. Straight through mufflers would be the same air flow, but if you're wanting it loud then straight pipe would always be louder.
Rozumiem, mój Town Country kiedy go kupiłem miał 155 tyś.mil do teraz przejechał już 245tys.mil ...transmission fluid change 45tys.mil. też bez awarii... A co ile change oil engine??
Very loud going down the road... Like my whole neighborhood knows I'm back or leaving even if I accelerate at 2k RPM. Freeway drone isn't too bad but it does drone quite bit. If I were to have it come out the back insteada the side I feel the drone would be solved. Overall I'm happy but I might be making the rear exit soon
Finally did it bout a month ago, man it sounds great! Of course it drones like a bitch, but I kept the peice of pipe I cut off so I should be alright. Absolutely hilarious to see reactions!
sounds like a damn v8 when starting up Im getting a 2006 grand caravan with the 3.8 L V6 gonna do a muffler delete on it. My 08 caliber sxt has a 2.0 L I4 in it did a muffler delete and burns more gas lol
Never measured it. It was louder than some 5.0 mustangs but they still had mufflers and stuff. I'd guess around high 80s mid 90s but I really don't know
Get a pipe welded to get the fumes coming out the back. Side exit will always have some fumes coming inside unless you have it sticking far out from the van
Signed the existing muffler was welded on wrong it had the pipe facing down instead of upward for the tailpipe with resonator to connect properly hence why I wanted to try your method in the video which was nice but yeah nor good for fumes and didn't pass our state inspection. So going to cut off the muffler pipe and stick weld a 45 degree upward and a 4ft flex pipe with angled tail piece. Should do the trick. Ur vid is inspiring.
sounds like my A$$HOLE neighbor, except he has a 5.3 tahoe no muffler and like to go to the store at 2AM!!!!! and have to LOOP the neighborhood, RATHER than taking the shortest route to his house

Sounds pretty good for a V6!
Thanks m8! Can't wait till I can get a cam into this thing

@@RBLUS_TY ye they're pretty much the same engine. So I can piece stuff together from both platforms to get it in there

Oh ye mine will too soon lol
did the exact same to my 09 3.3
very nice 👍
I immediately thought of doing this to my wife's cleaning business van hahaha
Did this on my ‘92 Plymouth grand voyager
can u just cut muffler and resonator and just leave it like that?(2006 3.3l town and country)
You can but having it dump under the van will have you breathing more exhaust fumes and it would resonate inside a lot
Wouldn't one get the same 'advantages' with a straight pipe replacing the stock muffler?
