Nice shave Sig, but man… that shave looked aggressive lol. For me mild DE’S and sharp blades are my go to, and if I want more blade feel I reach for the Feather Kamisori or a straight… and as funny as it sounds, I think they are safer and easier on the skin than a super aggressive SE or DE. That was an interesting comparison. I love the Occams on the three plate. After watching you use that Yaqi, I think I will give that a miss lol. I suggest the Vector single edge razor by blackland if you haven't tried it yet. It's my fav single edge razor. Only problem is that is quite difficult to obtain since it's sold out!!
i have a couple of Yaqi heads and the are both very aggressive. Looked like it was a rough shave. i like Baker st. you can't gp wrong with Stirling Soaps.

Hey Sig. I bought the Raster razor and I am having a delivery delay because Yaqi is changing the head. You may have the original head. I would check with Yaqi and make sure. The Stirling soap always works well. Take care and enjoy your day.

Very interesting and enjoyable video Sig, we all learn from observation when shaving in this hobby. I have the Yaqi Excalibur Version #1 and it is a nice tame mid range and I very much enjoy the shaves. Your technique is off from watching the video with the Yaqi Raster V3 IMO. You should not go steep (riding the bar)for most SE razors, they are designed like using a straight razor concept by using a Shallow technique(riding the cap). Try riding the cap more on a aggressive SE might make it a better shave. It takes a few shaves to dial in the proper approach with any SE razor . You did alright for the first time with a SE shave IMO.

Crazy... My V2 head sits super far forward and is ULTRA mild. I've thought about shimming my Rasta to try and get more out of it haha I keep hearing there is a tonnn if variances between their heads which is kind of a let down imho

Press lightly on the ends of the blade, bending slightly when loading the Occam’s razor, this will stop the slight movement feel👌

I bought the Yaqi raster and couldn’t use it because the blade alignment was way off. Yaqi hasn’t had a win for me yet.
I'm sure they'll get there at some point...

The slim version of raster is more milder and comfort shaver!
