Watch as a Cougar slides off the deck of a carrier, and an F-89 downs a QB-17 drone in this newsreel from Airailimages: ua-cam.com/video/Lmo1Zuvx5tA/v-deo.html
Very good video...for some reason I think the Albatross might be Coast Guard from the way she is marked, I like the Essex class carrier, just which I could she her number. Thanks again.
It looks like the number 40 on the side of the carrier. If so, it is the USS Tarawa CV-40, an Essex class carrier. According to the Wikipedia page, the Tarawa was assigned to the Atlantic Fleet and Quonset Point, Rhode Island.

Love seeing my home towns airport in the 50s and the blue angels. Sadly in 2022 they officially stopped doing the airshow at QP
I really like these old films. Keep searching for them. Thanks
Excellent, as always!

@@Nedski42YT That's what I come up with, too.
Nice video I love it
The DC-4 is civilian and carries CALIFORNIA EASTERN titles. It's a long way from its home base at Oakland, California.
Do you have any films of the F2H Banshee?
Sure -- try this. And thanks for watching!
