Both my kids had dummies. They were life savers. We put them away when they were one. No tears or dramas. And their teeth are perfect. Sometimes a dummy is the answer !!!!! Xxx
Lovely Charlotte, so good to see you two doing well and navigating the early months. I'm a mom of two, which doesn't make me an expert, but my opinion is to try without a pacifier. Little ones go through various regressions, including sleep patterns and soothing techniques. That said, if you feel it's worth a try, you'll find out fairly quickly if Lottie takes to it or not. On the other hand, dummies/pacifiers have been linked to impacting teeth alignment and potentially soft palette (top of mouth) development, which can affect speech...potentially a speech impediment. These situations develop when used constantly, so it's better used in moderation.
I’ve got 5 children, all had dummies & all their teeth are fine. Two of them had severe reflux so wouldn’t have managed without a dummy, it was a life saver & didn’t have any drama’s sending them back to the pixie. All posted them in the postbox themselves between 14 months to 18 months. Your doing a brilliant job but sleep is important.
of course it is the best way to start the vlog! I love you no matter if you have perfect make up (as always) or just face mask or eye pads or nothing on face, you are so beautyful always!
All three of mine had a pacifier and they gave it up on their own as a toddler and all have beautiful smiles. Get one of those little clips that keep them from being lost it will help Lottie to easily find it if she drops it. Better a pacifier/dummy than her thumb as that is a far worse habit to try and break. I would paint the hallway now to help freshen up the area. Lottie waving and blowing kisses is just the sweetest thing. Love from Canada
If she only needs comfort a few times I would persevere. Mine would cry when the pacifier would fall out of their mouth and it was a bigger hassle because they weren’t sleeping well nor was I. Of course that was many years ago. Our youngest refused a pacifier and it was much easier. I would wait to paint. 😂 However, it is up to you on both your questions. Lottie is adorable! 😊
I love the jumpsuit on you. I would try to stay away from the dummy, it maybe a phase but also she will get attached to it and another obstacle to manoeuvre through ! She’s such a happy baby , she will get past it . Good luck
Hi Charlotte!! Always a treat catching up with you on these videos. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Could you share where you got the eye patches/masks from? Nurin ❤
Oh you are doing so well with darling little Lottie it's so draining when your both unwell I do feel sorry for you. I can tell you though things will get easier but a word of advice try not to cut yourself into a million pieces and sometimes if friends or family invite you to do stuff just for now say no and take a day at a time and keep taking every spare minute to yourself when you can. ❤ you like my daughter a great mummy but crumbs it can absolutely exhausting ❤.
My 2 had dummies..life saver..got such comfort from them the dummy fairy took them when thy were 2 and half and left little gift to say thanks..tears one night only
Firstly, let me start by saying you look amazing! Yes, tired, with a cold and a baby is understandable, but still looking fabulous!🤩 Secondly, those floor boards are gorgeous if sanded and varnished. a rug can feel cozy as well, and more hygiene, with a baby and a dog running around. Speaking from personal experience with two babies (now grown men) and a dog. Carpets no matter how much you clean them you never know what's lurking in there. My opinion of course. ☺
If you’re keeping the original doors downstairs you can update them. I’ve seen designers on UA-cam that add wooden trim & fresh paint. It makes them look modern & new. You’re such a good mommy, your baby is precious! ✨💖✨
Hi Charlotte. I’m glad you and Lottie are getting over your illness and you probably are feeling rundown and a bit low- it’s all part of motherhood! Of course, it’s every parent’s choice as to whether you give your baby a dummy to help pacify them but I battled through without them as I was worried about changing the shape of their little mouth and the possibility of spoiling their teeth and then trying to wean them off them. As Lottie is 10 months old, my advice would be not to start at this stage and just try to get through without one. She is adorable and I loved her little wave at the end of the video! You would honestly look great in a black bin bag but the new-in pieces are casual, practical and really very nice - my favourite was definitely the jumpsuit which looks fabulous on you. I’d be in two minds regarding the painting of the hall- it seems somewhat pointless if you are renovating and yet, it’s nice to feel homely before you start.💛🌻
Hi Charlotte, that type of hormonal pigmentation is called melasma, look it up. I have had it for 13 years and wearing hat in a summer and sunscreen is the only way to keep it at bay.
Everybody got a different opinion about dummies but mines is if it gives them comfort then I think its a good idea maybe not a good idea introducing one now after 10 months but if it helps soothe lottie for sleep might help . I had 2 sons and they were so different with dummies my oldest son would not sleep without one used to have one in his mouth in his hand and pocket. Yet my other son didn't want one wasn't bothered . Miss the vlogs where your mum and yourself used to go shopping together bring back more please x
My kid does not have a dummy and we are so happy! My son does drink to comfort himself! As a sleepcoach I would not recommend that you use a dummy past 4-6months ❤️
Personal advice is to steer well clear of introducing a dummy. Not only can they be a nightmare habit to break, they can really affect the position of a child's teeth. My dentist is avidly against them.
A thumb is worse for the teeth than an orthodontic dummy. My Son's dummies went to Santa the Christmas before his 3rd birthday without issue. His bottles ( which he loved more) went to Santa the following Christmas.
Yes, we call them pacifiers and yes they were extremely helpful to calm my babies for bedtime. They would usually just let it fall from their mouth when they fell asleep and sometimes I would pop in the room and take it away once they were asleep. Neither of my girls gave me any trouble when it was time to stop using a pacifier. Once the majority of the teeth are in I took the pacifiers away for good cuz they can ruin dental alignment
At this stage, I would definitely try to steer clear from the dummy. I'm sure any dentist will agree, too😄 But given her age, I wouldn't introduce it now. She has teeth, she is closer to the age where one would start to "take it away".. and you just never know with kids - they are all different, and you can't predict how Lotti is going to react, or deal with you trying to break the habit and take it away. Maybe see if you can find an alternative of sorts? Another comfort thing for her. Popsicle might not be ideal for night time, obviously, but it is similar to a dummy, in that children of Lotti's age tend to suck on them.. and the cold soothes their gums when they are teething.. :)
You always look great Charlotte :) maybe you and Lou could try using oregano oil to keep away illnesses parents get when having children. Babies can't use it but at least it will be easier on you both while Lottie's healing up. This way avoiding vicious circle of repeated illness as it will get worse when she attends school. Outfits were great and the cap and socks were darling. Looking out for rain wear actually something that doesn't make one perspire and breathable but warm. I wish the jumpsuit didn't have an elastic at the ankles though. Some of the faux ficus plants are nice not sure where they got it what about Home Sense did they not have any near you? or TK Maxx or Wayfair. If she hasn't had a pacifier maybe she doesn't need one maybe a teething ring when she needs one not every child needs one. There are some eco friendly ones on the market and research should help you pick one. You two are so sweet :) she's very smart like her Mum and Dad :)
Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm is an all time favourite of mine but I am currently using beauty pie Japanfusion cleanser & loving it. It’s like a lightweight balmy texture & melts away makeup gently, skin feels really lovely after use xx
I started off not wanting a dummy for my daughter however I then read a very interesting medical report from Swedish consultant who said that studies show that it helps reduces cot deaths etc as children learn how to breath through their nose. Whether this is true or not it was a very renowned consultant.
I don't have anything against dummies but beware the 'dummy run' when it falls out of her mouth at night and can't find it! You may be running in as often as you do now to retrieve it! It happened to my daughter! I love your Varley clothes, you look fab in them all!
I love Lotties outfit in the last clip, pls can you tell me where it’s from? It’s normal for baby to use you for comfort as well as feed. My baby (baby #3) is doing this a lot at the moment. They go through sleep regression around this age which is linked to separation anxiety so a dummy wouldn’t provide the comfort she needs as she just wants you, just have to be there to support them through it. Good luck, keep on enjoying every min together xx
@@modelmouth this lady is right. Just go to Lottie when she cries and reassure her that you are there but don’t pick her up…just stroke her and allow her to learn to self soothe. I know it’s hard to listen to her crying but this will teach her to self soothe. You are such a good mommy and deserve some rest too.
Keep in mind that at this age she may be teething and when she lies down the pressure pain will increase, so she may prefer being more upright on you. Also breast milk has a natural painkiller! Baby’s at this age can not ‘self sooth’ she needs you to be there to help her regulate her emotions by holding or nursing her. In the end you’ll have a strong healthy relationship and a confident little girl in the long run. Just keep on being there for her and find a good audio book to listen to during those long nights! 😊 They are only babies for such a short time. Xxx

Hi Charlotte. It’s never too late for a dummy . Like you said it may help give her some comfort and you some more rest. It’s worth a try anyway. If she does like it, she’ll probably phase out of them in her own time.
Hello from Canada,! Sweet Charlotte!! ❤ You are glowing happyness!! Love to see baby Lotti again! How precious is she!! 😊 Love the huge playpen! Never seen one in Canada! Where on earth can we buy one!? Love your cream outfit! Please paint your hallway creamy white!! More or is it cream already? Also...my youngest of 3 children a girl, had a pacifier...wish I had never tried this!! She had it for 2 and a half years...and it changed her front teeth's,!! So...nôoooo! Don't give Lotti a dummy!!😮 Love and Blessings from Canada!!
Hi Lovely Charlotte and Lottie❤❤ I am a mom of three and I was literally struggling to remember if my kids used the passy- but in hindsight I think whatever makes yours and her life easier go for it! She will outgrow it and I think teeth grow in a lot stronger than a little pacifier can affect. It's more genetics I think. You're a wonderful mom, I cried again watching you too❤ enjoy the moments, it truly flies by❤❤
Lottie is adorable. My daughter in law breastfeeds my granddaughter but her last feed before bedtime is a bottle of formula. This seems to fill her up for longer and she sleeps through the night. She sucks her thumb for comfort.
My fsughter has 5 children 3 had dummies and 2 didn't she let the babies decide she will probably be teething i would try those kind of soothers, something to bite on and gel on her gums.
Starting a pacifier now would not be a good decision, I know deep down you know this. Now at this age is when Dr’s & Dentist advise to stop using them because their mouth & teeth are developing and it will start affecting the way their teeth grow in and change the shape of their palate. I would strongly suggest not doing it. My son didn’t have a pacifier but he found his thumb when very young and unfortunately I couldn’t take that away. Even though he only sucked it at bed time it affected his teeth & palate and needed way more dental work. Also why introduce something now that she’s been okay with not having to then later be so hard to break the attachment. The only way my son broke his attachment to his thumb was because they had to put a palette expander in the roof of his mouth that we had to crank and he couldn’t suck his thumb anymore with that contraption in the roof of his mouth. Quite a few nights of cry but we made it through….quite literally there was nothing I could do or even give in., heart breaking. Get her attached to something that doesn’t affect her growth like something really silky she can hold/rub in her hand
I introduced a dummy to my daughter to try and ween her off the boob, I found she had finished feeding but kept on the boob for comfort so it was a godsend to help her sleep. A lot of people advise against a dummy because it can affect their teeth by pulling them inwards, however if they begin to suck their thumbs, that has the opposite affect and pulls the teeth outwards, so it’s hard to win at times! We took the dummy off my daughter at 2 years old and it was a straightforward transition for us xxx
I wish Beauty Pie would deliver to Australia. I have wanted to join for a long time. Very disappointing.

Baby who uses breast sucking as comfort if too early or abruptly removed can turn to thumb sucking and that one is million times harder to then remove. Some end up with thumb and blanket at the same time sucking. So caution and taking time may be better approach.
Yes give a dummy but it may take time to find the right one. When you do please buy many and put them a all over the house. T night do not socialise with her. Just feed burp and only change nappy if necessary. When you put her down. Tell her it is sleep time now for both of you and let her fall asleep alone. Maybe pack her back bit do. Ot pick her up again unless something is worrying. You could put her down with a dummy and a favourite blankly. Good luck 🌺
I agree! It doesn’t look awful and for just one year, why bother? But then again, I don’t really enjoy painting that much anyway so I’m very sure I wouldn’t do it lol
She is using you as her dummy! She will probably not want one now and might spit it out ! Would you consider weaning her onto a bottle? Very gradually morning and evening feeds from you, and the others via the bottle that way if she accepts the rubber teet she can get that extra sucking comfort. You have been an amazing mummy breastfeeding for this valuable length of time ❤👏
Yes, we call them pacifiers in the US and why would you want to introduce them now?? I was a breast-feeding mom of three kids, and made a decision not to use them. It was a decision I never regretted.
No, don’t start now! I never gave mine dummies. They affect their teeth and I hate it when they get chucked on the ground and they pick them up and put them back it their mouthes, horrible!
Welcome to motherhood- sounds crazy but try & appreciate even the unpleasant times because when she stops needing you - you will PRAY for these days again. Trust me.
I would definitely start weaning off the breast and even introducing a top up bottle and she’ll get comfort from the teet. They say as soon as a baby is ready for solids weaning off breast. Good luck
Total hassle and a bit late, pacifier. It also interferes on how the roof of their mouths grow, as said by my daughter's dentist. If she's not used to it by now, don't put your self thru that. Like the quick fix has it's troubles, you know?
Hi sorry late to the vlog, regrading a dummy, can you give Lottie a special cuddle comforter as soon as she has finished breast milk so she will associate it with thats her sleep time. It would b helpful when your giving her solids and not breast milk too, ❤❤
I would leave the walls , once the carpet is down it will make a difference. Never gave my son a dummy … if he did cry when putting him down he soothed himself to sleep which was his norm.. the crying only lasted 5 mins at the most and in a way that was his soother before sleeping. He didn’t cry lots when he was young so didn’t feel the need to have one. He’s 17 now and doesn’t seem to have affected him not having one… unless you can pin it down to why his bedroom is always messy 🫣🙄
Yes my son didn’t have a dummy until he was 10 months when I stopped breastfeeding. He only had it for sleeping and once introduced he slept brilliantly. Also teeth are perfect! He’s 11 now 🫣
Both my kids had dummies. They were life savers. We put them away when they were one. No tears or dramas. And their teeth are perfect. Sometimes a dummy is the answer !!!!! Xxx
Lottie is sooooo cute and smart! She goes straight to you to dance! ❤
Aww that was so sweet she puts the music on so she can have a cuddle dance lol x
Lotti is soooo adorable and you were born to be a mother Charlotte

Hi Charlotte. I’m glad you and Lottie are getting over your illness and you probably are feeling rundown and a bit low- it’s all part of motherhood! Oh. I agree but as Lottie doesn't suck her thumb (as far as I'm aware) why introduce a dummy at this late stage? A problem best avoided.
Lottie is just so gorgeous 😍 you are doing a great job . The jump suit looks so comfy xxx
Agreed. Didnt use on my kids and now that they're grown ups, both have nice set of teeth.
absolutely adorable
Lottie is scrumptious 🥰
I would leave the hall walls as they are !

If you have become Lottie’s comforter you could try the dummy just through the night or nap time. If she doesn’t like it you’ll soon know

My LO had one. He is 2 and he spat it out saying all done. So it hasn't be hassle for us as he only got it when going to bed.
What is your favourite elemis or beauty pie cleansing balm xx
Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm is an all time favourite of mine but I am currently using beauty pie Japanfusion cleanser & loving it. It’s like a lightweight balmy texture & melts away makeup gently, skin feels really lovely after use xx

My 10 month old granddaughter finds her pacifier herself in her crib. They put a few in the crib to help with that 😊

When will we see another video from you and Lottie. Miss seeing videos
When you do please buy many and put them a
all over the house. Good luck 🌺
Don’t paint the hallway, Charlotte. I actually think the cream is a welcoming, warm color. Waste of time and money to change.
I agree! It doesn’t look awful and for just one year, why bother? But then again, I don’t really enjoy painting that much anyway so I’m very sure I wouldn’t do it lol
Check the dental side. Babies do their own thing and routines change with them so much.
No don't give her a dummy, she's fine!
No, don’t start now! I never gave mine dummies. They affect their teeth and I hate it when they get chucked on the ground and they pick them up and put them back it their mouthes, horrible!
My children didn't have dummies. You've got this far, I wouldn't introduce one now. Also, no need to paint the hall xx
Good luck
World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding to two years of age.
@@conniegonzalez9751 my health visitor said max 1 year. No benefit of breast milk after as baby gets nutrients from food
Total hassle and a bit late, pacifier. It also interferes on how the roof of their mouths grow, as said by my daughter's dentist. If she's not used to it by now, don't put your self thru that. Like the quick fix has it's troubles, you know?
Pacifiers/dummies are very good for babies sleep as sucking is the way babies naturally calm themselves down.
Hi sorry late to the vlog, regrading a dummy, can you give Lottie a special cuddle comforter as soon as she has finished breast milk so she will associate it with thats her sleep time. It would b helpful when your giving her solids and not breast milk too, ❤❤
🥰🇨🇦🤗
Maybe her teeth are growing, perhaps some drops for teething gums and some toy like Sophie the giraffe (sorry bad at English)

Maybe a little drunk of you
I would leave the walls , once the carpet is down it will make a difference.
He’s 11 now 🫣
Love Raffi just strolling by ❤🤣
