Sylvia GIVING food to someone else must be one of the greatest act of love ever.
I find it overly cute.
🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, especially since she normally eats everything in sight. Shows she cares about her future step-granddaughter.
Well shes in a jewish temple, pork is prohibited in Judaism. Its disrespectful to have it with her in the first place
@@youngomniverse35 Yeah, but isn't pork allowed under dire circumstances where if a Jewish person is about to die of starvation, they're allowed to eat pork if it's the only available food and it means saving their lives? Considering how Sylvia is like with food, she probably thinks every time she's hungry she'll die of starvation so she probably convinces herself that it's okay.
@@AngelusBrady I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. I mean there are other Deli meats besides ham.
“You’re lucky we’re in temple, Sarah.” 😂
🤣🤣🤣
The more I watch this video, the more I see. Maggie’s expression when Sylvia hands her a ham sandwich 😂 and tells her to eat it in the parking lot...the way Sylvia dismisses the rabbi when he talks about the wonders of God’s universe. Classic. Reminds me when I was growing up in my neighborhood. 😂
HahahahaaaaA love it
My fav part! ;) 👏😊😂😂😂🤣👐
Sylvia is an Immortal. Watch out McLeods
You know Sylvia loves those kids like they're her own grandkids already cause she gave Maggie her sandwich.
I can't believe she brough a ham sandwich to the temple though lol.
@@teijaflink2226For comedic effect, of course!
@@teijaflink2226it’s a joke because ham is not kosher in Jewish tradition, same with pork in Chinese food.
@@toplaycool21what kosher??
@@Cute_carrot2004 “The Torah says kosher meat can only come from animals that have split hooves and chew their cud, like cows, sheep, and goats. When these animals eat, partially digested food (cud) returns from the stomach for them to chew again. Pigs, for example, have split hooves, but they don't chew their cud, so pork isn't kosher.”
Sylvia is so fabulous. Such a scene stealer. "Don't gawk... they like to be treated like normal people."
The best part when Gracie called Fran Julia child. Omg. Frans reactions was hella priceless. 😂😂😂
"Excuse me miss, are you Julia Child?"
😂
😂😂😂
I love how sylvia and the kids acted like grandma and grandkids since day one.
i agree
That clumsy rabbi spilling food at Sylvia’s apartment 🤣🤣
Why isn't this on Netflix yet??? I loved this show growing up.
I have no idea but it’s on Roku! That’s how I watch it
It's on Prime Video
I can only afford netflix for now. wish they do bring it to netflix
It’s free on the Roku channel
It's coming to HBO Max!
It's only now that I really appreciate how good this show is. They make it look easy, cause it's 'just a comedy', but they're all amazing actors with impeccable timing.
"Morty! take the gravy bowl away from the Rabi!!.."
Hahahahahahaha I love her so much !!!! Back when it aired on tv, Eevrytime I read "guest Renee Taylor", I knew it was going to be an awesome episode!!!!
Cantor: it's always a joy to sing the wonders of gods universe
Sylvia: yeah yeah
😅😂
Dating in my 30s has been every bit the trial that the Nanny made it out to be. Can't say I wasn't warned.
haha it's true! it's so different from the 20's. At 20s you totally ignore the Bullshit until it's too late. After 30 you are always looking for that bullshit first lol
So true. I'm 32 and I've never read a truer comment in my life.
@@cenifh maybe this paranoia is what's keeping ppl single for all their darn lives
As a 30 year old I agree lol
@@talcohen4144 Dude lighten up, we're just exchanging banter
Sylvia's costuming was always so great!!! Shows where Fran got her style
I love how is Fran "inconspicuously" figuring out if someone's married😂
Every episode is hysterical ,Sylvia is insane lol
"What, Rabbi? Red wine ?" Hahahahahahahah i swear my Sylvia is the best!!!
3:30 Sylvia: 'Everybody quiet, quiet. my daughter's boyfriend is going to make an announcement.... 😇😇😇
*"...MOOORTYYYY, TAKE THE GRAVY BOAT AWAY FROM THE RABIII!!!!"* ☠️☠️☠️
One of my favorite parts 😂😂😂
"It's all Sylvia's fault!" at the end. Haha.
That sparkly skirt jacket combo
I know right? I would so wear that to work!
JULIA CHILD!! 😭💀
"IT'S ALL SLYVIA'S FAULT"
Anyone notice most of Frans men end up quitting their jobs and wanting to become something else. Like that dude who worked in the morgue or something and he ended up wanting to become a clown and this dude who later wanted to be in Broadway. Fran sure knows how to pick them 😂
😒
It's a shame we didn't see Gary again, since he got to be in a Hollywood movie, and the characters go to Hollywood later in the show
"Marty! take the gravy boat away from the Rabi!!!"...🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sylvia was already a grandmother for the children
The Nanny continues to make me laugh!! What wonderful writing and acting!!
Excuse me miss are you Julia Child 😂😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
This show is just soooo good!! I still laugh out loud 😂😂
Sylvia came for Sarah.
Sarah was shook😂
You’re leaving the temple?! It’s all Sylvias fault! 😂
Here's a ham sandwich? 🤣
Morty’s tupé always falling off lmao 🤣
This clip is Laugh Out Loud funny! Literally!
"Here's a ham sandwich..." I believe this was eventually edited out of following reruns. Funny though!
There were ham sandwich jokes in other episodes.
I don't remember what. Fran wanted time off and used a made-up religious holiday so Maxwell would say yes. He was on to her and said no. She accused him of not caring of her traditions and he responds he saw her eating a ham sandwich the other day.
@@Lindsay-nx5sv She also eats pork fried rice and BLTs.
I believe the ham sandwich being eaten inside the temple scene was edited out.
Thank you so much for the uploads! This channel has had me hankering for full episodes. I just found out yesterday that seasons 1-4 are streaming on the Roku channel and it’s free!!!!
God I love this show. A classic!
I love the big hair😁🥰
First comment goes to the earliest yenta!
Hysterical!
Excuse me miss are you Julia Child 😯
in french it's êtes vous Shirley temple? ^^
In the german version Grace says first Demi Moore and then Roger Moore^^
@@martinaf.2737 Nice
@T 2020 Julia Roberts is famos, but Julia Child isn't well known. I guess because we have our own cooks and cooking shows, the US Shows aren't broadcasted here😉
The joke changed on translation but nevertheless the reaction from Fran is still appropriate even though in other languahe the celebrity involved changed.
I love Sylvia.
JULIA CHILD!!!! I can’t!!!!!! Hahahaha
Ma don't be so pushy
Proceeds to push women out of the way 😂
3:37. LMFAO!
Ham sandwich in a synagogue lol. Imagine that in a mosque
Gracies outfit is so cute!🥰
0:04 Fran using the let the games begin way before Hunger games became a thing lol
The Rabbi is so cute.
😂😂😂😂 I’m holleriny
“ Gary gorgeous service!” Sylvia
“Sylvia it’s always a joy to sing the wonders of God’s universe.” Gary
“Yeah yeah I want you meet my daughter!” Sylvia 😂😂😂😂😂
1:17 Sarah is also Jerry's Aunt Stella, from Seinfeld
"This better be good, I'm missing Golden Girls for this".
"Stella"in Elaine's voice 😂😂😂
I wish roku had more than just the first 2 seasons. I always had a crush on Fran
Is this the episode where later they're openly eating in the temple because they have to seat at the back?
Yes! “Nobody can see us back here. I could throw a luau!”
We used to pull stuff like that in temple! My mom would chat with her friends non stop. But then my mom married the rabbi 😂
Lol... we've been exiled.
I’ve been temple shopping... ha
Didn't this guy dump Fran when he got the Hollywood gig? Was it the only reason he dated Fran, to get a foot in the door for show business.
He stopped dating Fran when he got an acting job away from NYC
He was the Russian in Oz too. Very versatile actor 🎭.
Phillip Casnoff is an AMAZING, yet absolutely underrated actor.
The end ahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Sylvia Fine was my favorite character.
Ive never seen the sandwich part!
Same. I wonder why they cut it out.
@@seafishie5246 they cut it out from re-runs because it was anti-semitic to bring pork into a synagogue!!!
It’s on Roku channel!!! and soon 2be HBOmax
😂🤣😂🤣😂🙌🙌
Lmfaooooo Julia child !
Loveeee this woman 🕎💙
I recognize the Cantor he was in Gorp with Fran and Peter.
It sounds like she saying bye
Are you Julia child? 😂😂😂
"It's all Sylvia's fault!"...
A house ham sandwich 🤣
I'm here for Slyvia
"they like to be treated like normal people..."
What is the song he is singing just before this clip? It’s beautiful.
You had one job, Morty
Cant believe That Philip Casnoff is already 71
What kind of temple has SUNDAY school lol.
Plenty of synagogues do. When else can kids do extra study. Busy with sabbath on saturday and school on weekdays
Lol! May the games begin.
Ma don' t be so pushy.
Are you Julia Child?
Morty take the gravy boat away from the Rabbi.
Julia child 😂😂😂
It’s not traditional to have Chinese after going to the synagogue. It’s traditional to have Chinese on Christmas Eve!
Maybe in their family
Are you Julia Child 😂😂😂
I just googled julia child😂😂😂
I hadn’t realised that she was a real person until I saw your comment. Now, I’ve googled her and seen just how funny that line was!
😹😹😹😹
well what can i say, i just googled julia child.
4:21
I wanted to hear him sing with Burt Bacharach 😒
I know, right? He was terrific! :)
Is the cantor the same actor that was Nikolai in "Oz"?
Yes! Philip Casnoff. What a great show.
100% accurate!!! But all cantors I've met in the reform community is a woman.
They cut the sandwich part from hbo max
Why do they call it temple and jot synagogue?
It goes by multiple names: temple, synagogue, shul, etc.
Sunday school?? I'm pretty sure they don't have that, lol.
Saturday school for Jewish kids.
For some reason hbo max cut this scene
While I absolutely love the Nanny, tye 2nd hand embarrassment, was too much for me a lot of the time lol.
Stanislofsky!!!
She took a ham sandwich to our temple? She is nuts!
Who is Julia child?
Julia roberts, julia child...tomato, potato.
Did not see any part of this as a shock.
Oh my Dark God she's dating a gay man I have never seen this episode but if you want to watch the full episode just download movie pro
Sunday school at temple?
yes, my kids went to one
😂
