I find Descript's recorder (on Windows) clumsy and very limited. The webcam preview window can't be resized. Whenever I set the preview window on one monitor, when I click record it jumps to the other monitor (where I am recording the screen capture). And where do you set the audio input levels? My recording levels are both too soft (small waveform on the timeline) and peaking/clipping. I tried adjusting the levels from Windows but it doesn't seem to work. I can't get the recording level to go higher without the sound clipping. Super frustrating.
im unsure why descript refuses to use the interface for sharing screens / windows. Its a major flaw in there product and i couldn't come around to using it. Its sad you got unlimited potential but held back by a minor feature.
The consensus is better to record locally and then upload to Descript for editing? That is what I am leaning toward. My audio sounds better when recording locally and then uploading to Descript. I assume the same would hold for video.
Ramdy, I use an Elgato Camlink 4K capture card with a Canon M50, but it will not initialize in Descript. I read that there might be compatibility problems. Have you heard of this issue?

Hi Ramdy/team - thanks for sharing. If I record in 4K in the Editor Recorder, is that file recorded locally or straight to the cloud? And could there be latency in the video if my internet isn't fast enough at certain points?
Hi Randy, I'm based in the UK, but was disappointed to note when I hit the 'Record' button that I got a message saying "Recording is not yet available on the web. Stay tuned!" Surely this isn't correct? Could you please let me know where I'm going wrong? Many thanks :)
I am from Germany. I recorded with the integrated camera and everything was perfect. I then tried to record with an external camera. I could no see myself while recorning, but I can see the right camera AFTER recording. Bug?
