Wilt was basketball's Zeus, clearly the real GOAT. Still holding 72 NBA records 50 yrs after his retirement. He had all of Duncan's moves before Duncan with greater agility and strength. So yeah, prime Wilt could dominate in any era of basketball. Not to mention avg. 30 pts 28 rebs life-time against Russell. Wilt was so strong that Arnold had to ask him to stop coming to his gym because everyone would stop working out to watch. He used to bench 650 before games because that’s all the weights they had in the facility. Russell famously said, that Wilt had to hold back for fear of hurting his opponents. There has never been a player that compared to him. High jumper, hurdler, and in his late 40’s he was acknowledged as the greatest volleyball player in the world. Lebron is a physical phenomenon, but there are no words for Wilt except super human.

Somewhere in UA-cam land there’s a video about a young MVP Magic Johnson organizing a pickup game with an old Wilt. Magic’s team had 4 other future hall of famers. Against them was an old Wilt and unimpressive players. After the first half, Wilt told Magic’s super team they’d never make another layup. Old Wilt lived up to his word and kept young MVP Magic with his future hall of famers from making a single layup. After seeing this all questions about who is the GOAT were settled in my mind.

    Foul Trouble:
Wilt changed the rules of the game. He was the man responsible for the goal-tending rule, lanes being widened and no inbound passes over the backboard. But in spite of rules meant to corral Chamberlain, Wilt made it his mission to never foul out of a game and, like most everything else, he was successful.
“It was not by accident that I never fouled out of a game, either. I was taught early in my career by an old Philly coach that my value was on the court, not on the bench…So I worked extremely hard from making dumb, over-the-back fouls.”
The whole foul thing is a game in itself but someone good at playing basketball also knows how to play the foul game.

That Jordan GOAT bs must stop. Wilt is GOAT !
Lest I forget, more than a decade after Wilt retired, he played pick up basketball with a couple of college kids against Magic, Scott, Worthy (Lakers). He still beat them ! Wilt must have been 50 years old if not older. Let that sink in kids. Let that sink in.

there was a time when Wilt would look like the Greek Freak, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan. He was far too skilled to play back then. Once he started getting older and slower... and Kareem could hook shot over him and block his shots, it was too late. Kareem started looking like a younger Wilt.
But his early 20's the way he could get up and down the court... always get the ball no matter the situation and out run everyone... scoring at will. It left the world in AWE. We couldn't compute what the heck was going on. There wasn't enough court for him to even look normal out there.

Big time power lifters of the time barely did that. No way Wilt benched 600; especially with his body type; with those long arms.

And the average power forward was 6’9/230 so basically all the power forwards in Shaq’s era would be centers in Wilts. Wilt was ahead of his time and that’s not his fault but that detail still matters.
