Not really. People used to live quite long in the past too. The age averages that we have are due to many children dying shortly after birth or very young. If you made it to adulthood, chances were quite good you’d grow old.

The film is ‘Kingdom of Heaven’ There are two versions of the film, one is a run of the mill blockbuster, the other is a philosophical masterpiece. I highly recommend the directors cut as the later. Whole characters, relationships, plots, arcs and more were removed for the poorly reviewed cinematic cut.

Syphilis and Leprosy are different diseases, caused by the same bacteria. If you're unlucky enough you can have both of them at once.

Respectfully disagree completely. This movie is a lavish and emotionally complex recreation of real history. In case it wasn't obvious, the hero of this saga is Salah ad Din, but heroic characters and villains exist on both sides of the conflict, just as in life. If that does not resonate with you, no judgement from me. Perhaps it will if you watch it again when you are a bit older.

I personally don't like the chess analogy, it's too constraint, both sides are on equal terms, and you know every move the opponent does and vice versa. In reality you must move where the enemy doesn't expect you the most, utilise your advantages, exploit their weaknesses,...
Fortunately every move creates weakness and you can feint in chess, giving the impression of attacking one piece when in reality you're setting up something else that will become clear several moves later, when it's too late to stop it.

I'm sorry, but this movie is just boring. You watched a third of it and are already tired. I love movies like that, but this one, in particularly, no. Terribly boring. You don't care for no character, people die and you just think "okay what next" because it's just boring. The only thing that marks you is the British leper king. He's by far the best character and the feel moments he appears have the best dialogues from the whole movie.
Baldwin was Frankish, not British. The characters, the writing and dialogue was all excellent. I think it boils down to a comprehension issue on your part...
How no one knew this was Edward Norton for a while baffles me. His voice is so iconic.
It sounds like he's doing a Marlon Brando affectation along with a British accent so it's not as easy to discern
