In my opinion, Ustad Shafqat Salamat Ali Khan is probably the most adept and versed classical singer in Pakistan and one of the few best remaining in the world. He is also a great teacher. He proves that without respect and reverence there is no place in Art especially classical music. That reverence is following the elders with same dedication they held for this crowned art by perfecting the art rather than making a name. Name and fame follows. Subhan Allah ye behlway, ye adaegi. Kaheen awara sur nahi lag raha rather he keeps the melodic softness of thumri. Many singers ruin thumri by adding vagrant and out of pitch taans but not Shafqat. This performance is a testament of dedicated tutelage and following of the legendary and out of the world Ustad Salamat Ali Khan. Sham Chaurasi still breathes with the services of Shafqat. Once again, Thank you Dream Journey. Loads of love and prayers.
