    That's actually brilliant. I have been searching FOR YEARS for an easy way of keeping stuff in place at the beach that is easy to pack, lightweight, doesn't take space, etc, etc, and THIS. This is great. We're just coming into the warmer months here in Australia, so I'm so glad I stumbled across this now. Just in time for the weekend! I love it. Thanks so much for posting this!

    Nice! I’m going to try it. I was using a sandbag with a tautline hitch at the top and three half hitches at the bottom.

      this works really well even in very strong winds or with a big pop up shelter

      beats the heck out of the tent stakes that come with the umbrella. They are useless in soft sand

    Where did you purchase that umbrella with the end tie loops in the umbrella

      That is a "Sport-Brella". I think I bought it at Academy. But Amazon or anywhere that sells sporting goods or beach supplies probably has them
